- What started with a missing u-joint cap has snow-balled into what will soon be the perfect Jeep Wrangler LJ build! With the Jeep is torn apart, it's time to reveal what engine swap is going into the LJ! Any guesses?!

Both the Women are outstanding, Bec's arms, WO, Yes she is outstandingly fit and a great Welder and Fabricator, if I didn't own 3 Jeeps, a F250 460ci 1 ton extended cab 4x4, and my pride a 76 K5 Blazer small block 400ci stoked to 430ci, that fits well in Johnson Valley, home; I would get a 4x4, just to hang. Good job on the Jeep and keeping fit and our attention, really nice LS

I had a 5.3 in my 83 CJ7 and I felt it was a great choice. Pulled well and made things effortless, while running around and offroad.
Great choice on the motor, enjoy the car wash scene 👍🏻
What I loves about jeeps and many other family friendly activities, the gals and kids are usually actually actively involved, learning helping, ENJOYING together as family and even friends are family

YES, an LS Jeep build, love the build because it's more relatable to the builds of us common folk.

Guessed it was an LS. Perfect for the LJ's size and weight. Love the sparkle touch Bec! Coupled with the hose and pulley replacements it looks ready to make some HP and Torque.
I would suggest doing Lizard Skin on the tub and firewall since you have it apart. They make both heat and sound deadening.
Shop time videos with Bec and Chris are great for the channel. Keep them coming.

Chris and/or Beck - are you going to swap out the OEM fuel tank for an extended range fuel tank to increase the range of the LJ? Interested to see what can be done for a 2 door versus a 4 door as far as space underneath. Otherwise engine looks sharp, wonder how it will do on the dyno once everything is back together.

50th! It’s a Bec Body Build Car Wash and Engine Prep Show, with Chris! Wait - no Bikini for Chris?! That is going to be one sweet LJ, Bec. So much hard work doing all the detailing, but always better to start clean. Yeah, the humidify has been tough with “Monsoon Season.” And of course Jelly steals the scene! Great choice on the engine. Can't wait to see it done. I've been thinking hard on putting a 5.3 in my 2 door jk, I'd have to reach out to motech or someone tho as I don't think I have the space to do the conversion myself.
I have installed 5.9L RAM engines in 4 TJ's. It's as close to plug and play as you can get using a RAM ECU. Little bit of exhaust work, relocate the front motor mounts, a V8 radiator and your on the road. Plenty of power and very reliable. Oh my picture here is the first one I did back in 2010 and I'm still driving it. Used the original jeep 5-speed and upgraded the t-case to a 242j from a WJ. Chev LS is a great engine but a lot of extra work and expence.
Cool video. There are 2 Over-Heat Disk Tabs on the rear of each head. So the heads were probably rebuilt. Those don't come on there from the factory..
Momma always said don't take candy from a stranger or you'll end up in their basement for a year.... lol Motor looks good though.

I replaced my 2.5l with complete drive train from 2001 suburban. The TJ is so much more capable now. Hemi swap was not on the budget. My TJ only had 61k on clock. Sold parts from it and was + $600 after swap. Enjoy the power change Bec. Oh and change out the oil pan. It's dangerously low...
Also frame will need to be notched for A/C to have clearance. Chris can handle that
You guys chose the best most sensible engine choice !! Plenty of power , reliability and gobbs of aftermarket upgradability ….

I’ve got a LQ9 in my TJ and love it ..a couple aftermarket parts and I’ve got less than $2,500 in a 400’ish HP super reliable power plant. There’s a reason everybody ends up with LS based stuff , cheap and strong and parts at every corner parts store.

FYI triangle on end of spark plugs indicates factory installed plugs.
Put in some ngk rutheniums.

I have a 3.6l in my jeep and it smokes my old 4.0 in the power spectrum. Id never want a hemi, too heavy, id only consider a 5.3l/6.0 lt but the jeep is only 10 years old, so maybe when im old. A short jeep with a hemi creates lots of balance issues, i do miss my tj to bits tho

Bec , you are going to want to swap your drivers side valve cover for an updated one. I seen yours had the round hole in the baffle which is an old version and was the main cause for oil consumption problems. I replaced mine with the new updated valve cover which has a square hole in the baffle with deflectors for the PCV baffle. It fixed my oil consumption issues on an 05 5.3.
Where are the high heels when pushing that Jeep body. -Hahah

Great video! I had an Ls eng from a 2003 1500z71 that I was gonna install in my 06 tj but someone hit me head on while texting and driving in a stolen car totalling my jeep, hoping I can get another jeep one day.... keep the great content coming 👌

So crazy to think its been a year already! Honestly good color choice on the block. And let's talk about the elephant in the room....the jeep wasn't the only thing lookin good! And honestly wanna know, when in the world are Chris and Beck gunna announce their relationship status with each other, c'mon im sure im not the only one that wants to know!! Please don't take offense. We have a 2002 Chevy suburban 1500. At about 225,000 miles we started losing water. Then water in the oil. I thought head gasket. Turns out the heads corroded through. Our shop said it was a common problem with those engines especially if you don't keep good coolant in them. We chose to go with a rebuilt engine with a warranty. We keep our vehicles forever. I just wanted to mention our problem to pass along any information. Usually when I see people do an engine swap they do a tear down and check internals. I hope this information helps someone.

You could coat those headers to keep things cooler. But you know that. Cerekote C series and a prevail sprayer. Don’t forget the proper strainer.
