I bought Red Dead 2 from them because I hadn't heard anything bad in a long time. Didn't buy for at least two years before that and I definitely don't need to now. Then it slowly goes down until June of this year where in June 5th it drops from $7.50 range the day before to $5 and it slowly declines to the current $4 its at right now. The second "tell all" video was released on May 17... Both big drops in stock came within a month of his "tell all" videos. Also in between those videos, it's not like he was making much content about gamestop. Just one video following up on the first video in the 5 months or so in between. Coincidence??? Then Gamestop had to Gamestop and instead of trying to fix their own problems, they'd much rather create problems for other people... Now they're just giving him content!

I find it hard to believe that there are no better jobs out there than GameStop. The economy is terrible true. But there are other minimum wage retail jobs out there.
This is so crazy. This is exactly how circuit city acted before they went under. I worked there Christmas of 06 and 2007. Around spring 07 they were firing everyone left and right. 15 minutes late? Fired. Called out sick? Fired. My friend actually got away with stealing a thousand dollar laptop the day he was fired. He walked right out the store put it in his truck. An hour later they called him in the office. He was scared shitless only to find out he was fired for leaving 20 minutes early the week before. Circuit city actually fired me because my car was towed the morning of my shift. Called them and told them what happened and the boss was like so you’re still coming right? I can’t! I gotta get my car! The following shift they called me in and fired me. They even fired senior employees that’s were make just a little too much money and told them they could re apply for minimum wage. Circuit city was great in 2006. I loved it but after that Christmas everyone was waiting to get fired. Wasn’t so mich fun that year
@@IamCoalfoot True, but I think it's really fucking sad that you literally can't trash talk corporations without other companies thinking it looks bad as if another corporation couldn't possibly ever truly be toxic. Employers are extremely stupid if they can't see how toxic working conditions are for many companies nowadays.
I worked for GS as a GA and SGA from 2003-08 and I remember when it was still a decent company to work for. But I do also remember one incident toward the end of my stint that signaled the beginning of the decline... We were going to have a special Saturday sale and everyone on our customer email list received a coupon good for $5 off select used GameCube titles like MarioKart that normally sold for $45 used and $50 new. Well the Thursday of that week, I did my store opening routine and when I printed out the price changes, I discovered that they raised the prices of the games mentioned in that Saturday sale by $5 so both new and used were $50. So when Saturday came around and all those customers came to redeem those coupons, they didn’t save anything. It was all a scam to get people to buy certain expensive used titles at their normal used prices. To this day, I’m amazed that nobody who stopped in my store that day noticed or said anything. This is one of the reasons I will never shop there again.

@@seanh7585 The problem with that suggestion is that it would lead to legal action. Camelot has been careful so far not to say anything he can be sued for. Just because something is true and there's free speech, doesn't mean you can't be sued.
This is the nature of retail and why even my job coach warning me never to apply for a job in that sector, but of course I did anyway, and after I resigned he was like, told you so. He says this because his wife works in retail and she's so anxious that she can't sleep at night and that keeps him up too. So, he often looks like he's had no sleep because retail is messing up their life. Retail is cancer. No other way to cut it.
I would argue retail is toxic due to the level/way society supports the "gotta have it now" mentality. It's understandable that people act that way. We all are basically animals and it's an aspect of that nature. But the point of marketing campaigns is to make something seem so irresistible that you will feel like you're being left out if you don't have it now too. That creates a cycle of dependency that then allows those same companies that tell us we have to have the latest product, while simultaneously increasing the price tag, explaining because of the new features added to just about the same thing. Throw on top of that big box stores (WM, BB, Amazon) can offer "lowered" prices on said products to increase traffic to their respective stores/points-of-sale because they are choosing to give up a percentage of "profit" on a particular item knowing either sheer volume of purchase or another product/service will balance out the loss. And then the pressure from "decision makers" (read: shareholders) is what increases stress because shoppers are naturally going to where prices are lower/services are better, but those same decision makers are demanding an increase in sales and profit to a clientele base that is constantly shrinking. In the company I work for, I do my best to focus on plain and simple customer satisfaction. If that means I help them save money by buying from a competitor, then I run that gamble with the hopes that shopper will remember I'm the one that pointed them to their saving on that trip and will be more inclined to come back to me first the next time they are looking for something. But I know that I'm an exception to the sales workforce.

My favorite playing with their food is when a company has you train your replacement without knowing it. I worked at Time Warner cable as it was turning into Spectrum after being bought by Charter. There were 3 locations for my department. Texas, NY, Cali they closed NY, made Texas and Cali take over all their work. Then they told my department that they would be taking over another new service when it launches so we needed to make write ups for many of the tasks we do so the other state can take over. Some of these task were written programs that a manager wrote and I was the only person that knew how to run it after this manager left. So they have a deadline for everyone to have these write ups posted to the internal network. Make sure everyone knows they write ups are good and are step by step. Then they walk us in a meeting room and let us know we won't be taking over the new service and that Cali would be the only location left. I was like sweet we just spent a month helping the company cut our department
Where I was working at was pretty much like that. They were cutting departments one by one. It made me anxious watching as entire departments would stop showing up. They closed a department near mine and the next day the department was part of ours. Then around the time a few years ago when ATT announced they would be giving all their employees bonuses (but failed to mention the thousands of people that got laid off) one of the younger guys in our department says "where is our bonus at?" and he would keep asking this during meetings. So finally I say "have you not been noticing what has been going on around here lately?? Getting to show up to work today is our bonus"
I was fired from a restaurant in early 2005, just after I saw my manager interview someone. I had a hunch it was my replacement and I was right. Fortunately Karma got them when that restaurant closed down a couple years later. Sweet, sweet Karma.

2:18 Actually, that is why capitalists and corporations spent billions in lobbying money to make "At Will" states. The law is working exactly like it is intended.
Uh, you do realize that when corporations lobby the government, the government plays favorites and that goes against capitalism and a free market, correct? It's not Capitalism, it's corporate welfare.
No it is fascism. fascism is the melding of corporations and government. When government works hand in hand to help corporations out then corporations line the pockets of politicians making them all billionaires and millionaires as they leave office.

Lol like who? Best buy? Lol this guy and his one sided gamestop argument, just because he had a shit run with the company doesn't mean it's a terrible company, and his friend more than likely was fired due to knowing him, guilty by association, any company is going to do that if they see a former employee slandering them on TH-cam or any social media, gamestop is just clearing out anyone who has connections to him so they can move on and keep rebuilding.
Agree with Tyler Moore. They have been suffering gradually decreasing sales for four years. The industry is moving toward digital content, along with ad hoc in-game transactions. They are being “Blockbustered” or “Netflixed” by the very companies they try to sell at their brick and mortars. The stock price has dropped from 15.00/share on 7/18 to 4.00 a share 7/19. While purchasing Think Geek was a thoughtful plan (swag can’t be bought from S*ny or M*crosoft), the market is limited. A small number of gamers/sci-fi/cosplay people are going to drop $125.00 on a lightsaber, fewer will get the $400.00 bust of D*eadpool. While the management has definitely shafted Camelot, but this singular reprehensible action does not mean their company is failing, per se, but it does show a carelessness that indicates administration is not focused on individual stores’ successes. Instead of building a positive, customer service oriented team, they are intentionally doing the opposite. This, if it the general way GS does business, amounts to incredibly bad logic. Your money is made by the people in the stores. Punish one person and it rocks the store. Move this administrative style to multiple stores and you have demoralized an entire region because PEOPLE TALK. The last time I went in to my local GS, *all* of the staff were gone and replaced in a matter of two days - and it was explained away as one big coincidence, which was instantly recognized as BS by my daughter and I. Gone was the friendly banter and the relationship that was built. It was obviously an administrative move. I shake my head at companies who can’t see the importance of their hourly employees and managers.

This reminds me of how I was fired from Target, and then they fired certain supervisors that I had made friends with, just because of how chummy we were.
Story Time! We used to have 3 local stores in the area. 2 in Carrollton (Georgia) in a line: Gamers at Kroger and GAGameshop next to the Aldi. If you kept driving then you'd get to Walmart and that's where Gamestop is. Both those other stores closed down a couple years ago. Most of the business was going to Gamestop. Gamers had some rushes, but I was consistently the only one in the store at GAGameshop (my favorite at the time). I guess I realize now it's because they had a serious lack of current generation games, focusing on retro stuff. Gamers was great, and sold a selection from the Atari 2600 to current gen, but they eventually moved all the inventory from Carrollton to their Villa Rica store where they are now. As of 2019, there are more customers in Gamers every time I go in than at Gamestop and I could not be happier. I've gone into Gamestop a few times recently I admit, because I remember certain staff members being there at different points, but my favorite manager from the late PS2 days isn't there when I go anymore, so I think maybe he's gone on to bigger better things, and now, after all this, I'll do so as well.
Our parents generation was “let’s open a business!” (McDonald’s, GameStop, grocery stores) and ours is “I wonder where I’ll work, I got McDonald’s, GameStop or the grocery store”
ouibstir back then you could open a business with $20,000, now you need $1,000,000, 820+ credit score and connections with high level govt. and corporate people to even have a slim chance.
Stopped shopping at Gamestop after they charged me for the rewards program and yet cancled it the same year as if I wouldn't notice. Like I dont get game informer in the mail 🙄
I believe the next step is obvious. If they're letting you control their employment decisions, take advantage of it. Imply that you are friends with every store manager (ideally imply it one at a time) as well as as many higher executives you can plausibly establish. Be careful not to actually lie in doing so (for legal reasons), but beyond that I think you're golden. Also maybe don't let them see this comment.
Sorry to hear that. That’s typical at any job though. If you’re good friends or in a relationship with someone who’s fired, companies will most likely let you go to get rid of potential drama. It happens in every company. That’s why it’s best to keep things separate. It’s a liability and gamble if things turn sideways. Don’t underestimate HR investigations, they can dig up almost anything that you’ve posted on the internet. It’s quite creepy.
Sucks for her, however, if her and her store have had repeated time card violations and Gamestop has been stressing time card accuracy, I don't see how her termination is not "with cause". It's failure to lead and I would have fired her as well. IF it was because of the alarm incident, and there is actually video or any kind of documentation that she was at the store or called the alarm company or whatever the case may be, then she has cause to fight the termination. Barring evidence that she was there, then gamestop has cause to terminate her. One thing I do know about alarms though is that they don't just randomly log times. Everything else, that she was fired because she was your friend or because of an anonymous letter from a rival manager is conjecture and not fact driven.

But i ran into an issue where i was unable to drive and was taking ubers and it was getting prettttty costly. well I requested some assistance from the gamerfund and they were kinda dragging on responding but in that time my store leader who has worked for the company for 15-20+ years started telling my personal information to new seasonal employees and the key holders and slandering my name. and i called HR and they did their "investigation" and said oh it was a miss understanding, I'm misinterpreting what he said, but he will apologize. And its like if its a misinterpretation.... why the need to apologize? why not tell me straight up? no instead it became a hostile work environment (which mind you this "store leader" spent all his time sitting down in the back at the desk we had while i personally ran the store, did wall moves, and made sure everything was managed properly) Well i cant work for someone who doesn't respect me and was vindictive enough to try to have the gamerfund not help me and say slandering things that could still be brought to a lawsuit, but instead my DM calls me (best part i still have the VM) of him saying i basically need to return to work at the store *NOTE: while a HR issue is still being dealt with between myself and store leader* i need to return to work other wise i need to resign my position, Forcing me to quit. Even tho 1. I was promised my promotion and own store by transferring and "helping" this store come back to being operationally ready since the store leader prior and ASM both quit at the same time... 2. the store i was promised didnt have a store leader, i couldve just assumed my role i was promised (which was closer to my house than this current store) and everything wouldve been fine and 3. they couldve temporarily put me back at my old store prior to the transfer and had that ASM temp work at that location until a resolution with HR was handled. GameStop is just life draining and they literally only care about protecting their name................... Pathetic.

I never worked for a big corporation like Gamestop, however I have worked at places that have treated their employees as badly as this. I work in manufacturing, in particular in the aerospace industry as a machinist for the past 8 years now, and I have seen just how scumy companies now matter how small can treat their employees. Watching this channel grow and seeing all these people come forward with their stories of abuse and neglect at the hands of their employer is moving. As a manager I pay close attention to stories like this so I can improve my skill set and learn from the mistakes of others.
This is why sometimes I believe in fate. Gamestop was going to go down anyways, even if it's a slow process. Why not make the one guy that is super coherent, smart, and a strong leader to shed some light on major issues corporations can bring with corruption. While Gamestop is going through hell for what they're doing, Cody is able to channel this into positivity and even change his career because of it. It's just meant to be like this. I worked for a smaller retail chain for 5 years as a manager and that random firings was how I went out. Always a fun tactic for the manager above you to push the blame and lead to mass firings.
I also used to work at a store and I had the manager sexually harassed me and once I brought it to the district manager nothing was done and the store manager started being rude to me and everything and then I put in my two weeks notice because I found a better job that wouldn’t have to worry about those kind of issues and whenever I went back as a customer he refused to help me and whenever I asked him why he just said you know why and I kept telling him I didn’t and every time I go in the store he ignores me he refuses to help me and now it’s just discrimination at this point, I’ll give you all information I can with as many incidences I’ve had just like you!!

I haven't shopped with that crap company in years but after seeing all your videos I'll never step foot inside one of them
Somebody needs to organize a mass GameStop walkout.
Sounds like they're scared, but they're going down anyway.

Gamestop is dying, they're grasping at straws at this point.

You are simply making the Camelot army stronger. XD
That is so messed up, clearly this means you're a threat and impacting their business. Keep it up! They can't get away with this!
They aren't coming after you because there's nothing they can do to you anymore. They already fired you lol
And, they won't sue him because has almost nothing. Not worth the time. He can say wahtever he wants.
I’ve been posting your videos on GameStop’s Facebook page to support you and ended up becoming a top fan for GameStop 🤦🏻♂️
😆 Thats funny as HEL
Stopped shopping at Gamestop after they charged me for the rewards program and yet cancled it the same year as if I wouldn't notice. Like I dont get game informer in the mail 🙄
I believe the next step is obvious. If they're letting you control their employment decisions, take advantage of it. Imply that you are friends with every store manager
(ideally imply it one at a time) as well as as many higher executives you can plausibly establish.
It’s quite creepy.
just make an anonymous call telling the district manager and the HR man is giving you inside information...
Mike Donaldson Thank you. Pretty much this story is b.s. it makes no sense
Just keep getting after them. You should make a video for a contest to dig up the best dirt on gamestop. Get the best verifiable dirt and expose it.
Mike agreed. All that info you obtained you should say names and positions. Bury those “cockroaches” Tony Montana voice.
Like he could verify any of this anyway
Sb he said he had proof.
@@Fairlady350Z Yes, and I have proof that he doesn't. I really don't, but what did you think he was gonna say? He didn't have proof? This whole story is just so far fetched no one questions anything. Has there even ever been 1 piece of evidence provided by this channel of any wrongdoing actually being committed? Or is it just some dude who lost his job and has no other income so he's trying to do whatever he can to make something out of it?
@@Fairlady350Z Point being, just because he said he has proof doesn't mean he does. He has not shown 1 piece of supporting evidence that proves anything he has said.
I can Absolutely relate. Tried reaching out saying we should podcast this whole situation! I was forced to resign/terminated because i had an issue where I couldn't work at the store they forcefully transferred me to in the false hope of Store Leader Promotion. Pathetic.
Was it the same girl who bought food for everybody during thanksgiving?
If it is than it makes it even worst than before
Hey I recently applied here about a month ago getting out of high school for a first job I really appreciate you saying what it’s like it’s definitely changed my mind thanks for being honest and speaking your true opinions. I really appreciate you being so transparent about your story. Keep up the good work that’s another sub for the fam.
When GameStop dies, yes when, I'm gonna dance on their graves!
Damn lawsuit time!! Getting fired for a bs reason and if she can prove that they are wrong and telling lawyers that HR manager actually said that she got fired because she knows you that’s retaliation and she did it even do anything. LAWSUIT! LAWSUIT!
Since I started following you on this journey.... I have not shopped at a GameStop and never will again. Thank you for your service.
Isn’t it amazing how much damage one guy with a TH-cam channel is doing to a giant corporation? I love how they keep shooting themselves in the foot trying to “fix” it too
I am pretty sure in one of your previous videos you did mention how the manager at the store you used to work at had given you some information.
When you entirely watch both ads so your boy Cody can collect those coins 👊🏽👊🏽
Are you excited to Go To The Island?
Employee: I Want To Go To The Island!
HR: Throw Them Into The Furnace
I'm gonna unsubscribe, just in case. I don't wanna get fired. lol
bruh, u got ur name and face all over ur comment. lmao
*Gamestop tracks your comment*
Management: We got em boys.
Gamestop isn't willing to make any compromises to the company's core values, and are paying for it. Keep uploading Cody! I feel there is a deep message for all of us to take from what's going on. Always stand up for what you truly believe in. You'll be surprised with the end result.
Wow, is it possible for her to sue? That seems like something that’s super unjust. I hope she gets justice for this...
Mayor Vic she won’t in his state and my state, you can fire for no reason at all. It’s the law can’t sue for the law being fallowed even if game stop is a pos
You can always file a wrongful termination suit
C L18 not in a right to work state, unless you can show racial or sex discrimintation
7531monkey in a good faith state, where you can only fire people for legally accepted good reasons, gamestop would be crushed for this, multi million dollar lawsuit would happen, the lady would never need work again.
7531monkey even at-will work, you cannot fire people in retaliation which is what they did for her talking to him
Gamestop has a huge $20 or less sale going on and they had the item that was $200 for $20 I walked into the store and they didn't have it but a store 100 miles away did. They said they can have it shipped to that store I just had to call the other store and let them know. Well, when I did, the other store said, "We are not allowed to ship items from the store to store because we are a 50-50 company." Well, I have a friend who works at a Gamestop and he said that was a lie that usually when they say that it was an employee keeping that item in the back for when they close.
Those managers will get their karma back. Enjoy your power till the company is gone
I worked for a smaller retail chain for 5 years as a manager and that random firings was how I went out. Always a fun tactic for the manager above you to push the blame and lead to mass firings.
File for unemployment and find a job that appreciates her. ❤️
I would also refuse to help you and discriminate against you. Only because you wrote the world’s longest run on sentence in that abomination of a comment.
Hr is now on a plane to Texas and Pittsburgh to fire everyone lol
In Australia, you can basically take them to court but goes through what we call Fair Work Australia first. If she's full time and that's their excuse for letting her go, if she has the proof of her being there early/on time then she can definitely do something to fight it. She may not find it too difficult to get a new job but its just unfair/inconvenient for something like that to happen
Let's #EndGamestop we're in the End game now, bois.
Unfortunately that's how alot of businesses work. They fire the one person doing nothing wrong that is doing work.
