- Today's video is a vlog of our family day out for my birthday at Dumfries House in Ayrshire. There are so many great options for brilliant days out in Scotland with a toddler and some beautiful autumn family days out and I thought I'd share for a little bit of inspiration in a mini series.

Whoa, those water wheels and troughs are so fun! Happy birthday to you, Kara! I laughed out loud when you said he has an obsession with the "Stick Man" book--we got that from the library not too long ago and we've read it several dozen times since then, Cyrus is always asking for it! We have also really enjoyed spending a lot of time outdoors as a family and visiting every park around our island...but as of today we just went back into a stricter lockdown and no more parks or public green areas are open, which is quite sad.
Aww, it's a brilliant book and something about fascinated toddlers! Ben acts out stick man every time we are at a park and he finds a stick! 😂 He is way too obsessed with imaginative play. Thank you for the birthday wishes Rachel!

Our grandson is 15 months and he would love it there and it looks a perfect family day out, something there for adults and children. Nice that you got some adult time when Ben as asleep and I must look into one of those carrying backpacks, which beat taking the buggy everywhere. Looked like a great birthday trip out, cheers Alan

Aw lovely little video 🥰 I love making and watching family vlogs like this 😍 I used to loved Dumfries house when I was little! We relocated to the Cotswolds last year so during lockdown we have been exploring all the walking towns and forests! So lucky to have that Precious family time 🥰
I am sure the Cotswold is absolutely beautiful! I'd love to visit the area to do some walks. And yes, family time outdoors is absolutely amazing. ❤️

@Bairn and a Backpack hi we really did have a fantastic time in Scotland. I don't think I can choose just one particular place! Although, I really did enjoy excavating at the Ness of Brodgar in Orkney and the visiting and surveying all the long cairns across Scotland and England! Honestly the whole landscape is just breathtaking!

I'm a Scorpio Claire. Hot headed and very determined. 😂 I would absolutely recommend the Lidl outdoor wear! Genuinely the best thing we have bought this year, especially when we are outdoors in all weathers as there isn't so much else for wee ones to do at the moment.
