    The reason I even looked up videos on this car is because I saw one for the first time today. And I must say I am surprised at how small these cars are. I thought I knew someone a while back that had one and it was much larger.

    • @AutoAcademics
      @AutoAcademics  9 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      +Gold Wing Just for clarification, you weren't looking at the Mercedes CLA were you? Those are definitely much smaller. The CLS, like the one in our video, is a decent size. It just has minimal headroom when entering and exiting due to the coupe-like styling. Thank you for your comment.

    • @AutoAcademics
      @AutoAcademics  4 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Thank you, Karolis Tuskevicius. The 2015 CLS 400 is a beautiful and good driving car that came with some really nice tech for the time, so many of the features should still be considered up-to-date right now. As long as you don't need the latest and greatest in tech, you'd be happy in that regard. Obviously, try to find a car with the lowest mileage possible that you can afford, as well as try to find out the service history of the car. Many times, a Mercedes dealer can check the VIN number and see if and what maintenance was done by a Mercedes dealership. Some Mercedes cars can be temperamental if they do not have the proper routine maintenance performed. If you can find a certified pre-owned car, that would be even better. Hope this helps and thanks for watching!

    • @AutoAcademics
      @AutoAcademics  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, the CLS is significantly larger than the CLA, Bankhead S550BuildTV. All of Mercedes' A-class variants are their smallest models, while the "S" variants are their largest. This holds true for both the cars and SUVs. Hope this helps and thanks for watching!

      @AutoAcademics  ปีที่แล้ว

      Wow! First we have to say that we've come a LONG way since recording this video. LOL Now in regards to your question, yes, these are referred to as "coupes," akinsheye1. The German manufacturers coined the name first for their 4-door sloping roofline cars (and now SUVs, ie - GLE Coupe) and then everyone followed suit with their 4-door, sloping roofline cars. Hope this helps and thanks for watching!

    Nice ride, however i still prefer the more menacing 12’-14’ generations. I have a 2008 E550 and 2012 E350 and im selling one of them to upgrade to a red CLS550 in spring of 2020. I was considering the 09’ porsche 987 cayman BUT for the money u pay u get so much more car with the cls550 n its few yr newer. 😃

      Melvin Paygane is the cls reliable? I want a cls500 but is the engine reliable for daily driving and all year around? Or shouls i go for a diesel? I heard that the 320 diesel is one of the best and reliable engines mercedes have?

    • @melp1088
      @melp1088 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Eric. The cls500 is based on the e class platform so its as reliable as the eclass. The cls500 one the most reliable M113 engine. Im not familiar with the diesel engines but while i was doing my research, i came to realization the the e320 is one of the best diesel engine as well. If that comes in the cls version then i would say it is as well. That said, its 2 totally different engine in terms of power n torque.

      Melvin Paygane okey thanks for a wuick answear! I saw bow that the 2011-2018 chassi is far to expensive to buy with the v8 engine but the 320d would be perfect with good milage👍

  • @clevelandaeromotive

    I don’t even think the 550 was available this year. If you wanted a V8, you had to go into the AMG options. CL63/65.
