4:04 the weather in northern china is quite dry so it's very easy to get static electricity. Using hand lotion or touching walls before contacting those metal, wood, etc. stuff would help a lot~
I went to PKX for the first time a few weeks ago and it was so beautiful! but it was so, so far from the city, so staying at the airport hotel is definitely the right choice. the swab when entering the airport is testing for explosives and is done routinely at all airports in China.
If you ever find yourself at PKX again, there are other "airport" hotels (Marriotts, Chinese chains like Atour and Ji Hotels -- they're very nice! ) 5-10 minutes away from the airport and they have shuttle services to and from the airport.
This is just what I need for a layover.
Nothing too much. Just enough.
Hi Ken, you are in Beijing, during winter all indoor venue will provide heating air-conditioning hence you will find the air to be extra dry and also you will be constantly experienced "static shock" (not electric shock) from whatever metallic surface you touched.
So a kind word of advice here either wear a gloves or pull your sleeves long as an insulator or ......... get used to getting static shocked for the entire stay. 😅
This room is still not very expensive in one of the world's biggest city. He himself is saying this one is bigger, better with window. I believe it's decently furnished for $80.
Before touching metal objects, you can release static electricity from your body by touching the wall or the ground with your palms.

Beijing winter is very dry so you get static charge sometimes.
I will book this hotel in July because I will have a 20 hour layover in Daxing. So thanks for the video Ken!

I would like to remind friends who want to come to China not to save money on accommodation. Land prices in big cities are very expensive, so hotels in big cities are not cheap either
Are you trying to tell people flying from Europe to China not to choose economy class to save money because intercontinental flights consume a lot of fuel, and airlines incur high costs?
@@dicky-duck6632hahaha i think what he meant was, you would rather want to save money from other activities for example the flight, transportation, food etc. but do book a decent hotel because you really get what you pay for with hotels 😂

I went to Beijing in 2018 (October), they still use Capital International Airport....15-20 minutes to Beijing.....
