I love this. Wha else can I say? How can you thank God enough for what he did and does for us with words? Lord Jesus, I love you, thank you Father, Son & Holy spirit.
wonderful...thanks especially for the including more than just the first two verses...this hymn is one of my favorites and tied to my Christian profession and my Welsh heritage...beauty
thank you atpegasus. :-) for taking my comment in the kindly and loving way intended. God is Good in keeping in us a spirit of equanimity and overcoming Joy. Even whe ne like Jeremiah are called to difficult ministry with no obvious earthly relief...still every word of this song, every word of the Gospel, ring true...a Slave to Christ may i remain!! praying for you, your family and your fellowship atpegasus. Love in our Lord Jesus. pg
why re-write when we can just add to it...this hymn is Christ-like beauty without the chorus, but if it speaks to additional folks in a modified form, the more Glory the better...Love in Christ, pastor gary
The additional words make it a better testimony song for Christians, but for congregational singing, it's demanding experience that some of the congregation may not have.
It's very difficult not to accidentally sing the traditional words: It's the same the whole world over, It's the poor what gets the blame, It's the rich what gets the pleasure, Ain't it all a bloomin' shame? The rest of it definitely unsuitable! These are great words, but perhaps the writer should have chosen a different tune?
I heard words like that sung by a colleague at work some 54 years ago, but I still vaguely remember the tune, which was nothing like the tune to "Here is Love vast as the ocean". It was far more like th-cam.com/video/KSk-VKOTgQY/w-d-xo.html.
I love this hymn, and it is even better with the added words.
Thank you for posting this. My husband are singing and worshiping along.
Thank's Pastor Gary. We are ALL one in Christ. Grace calls me friend. What more can I ask for? Keep The Faith.
