It's crazy that Steeplechase and Revolution opened two years apart in the 1970s, it feels like there is 50 years between them.
Great video! Looks like a fun collection of coasters! I enjoyed watching!
@@michael7054 Thanks Michael! Blackpool is awesome 🤩
@CoasterDash That's great to hear! 🤩
I adore Steeplechase myself. So much fun.
Nice video. Blackpool is a really nice park on a sunny day, the view from the top of the Big One's lift hill being particularly awesome.
Safe to say engineers had to get creative with the space they had to work with throughout the years of this park and Blackpool has an old, charm to it. 1994 was definitely a great year for the UK in the thoosie community and the Enso seat looks so fun🇬🇧😄🙌🏻
Pretty much nailed it apart from Grand National being way too high I'd say. Also a note about The Big One's length record It only gained the title of UK's longest coaster in 2019 after the closure of The Ultimate at Lightwater Valley which opened in 1991 at 7,442ft long and was built by British Rail bizarrely, imagine Amtrak building a minetrain that out lengthed The Beast.
I didn't realize they had so many coasters... i gotta get to england someday
Great video. So cool seeing you reviewing my childhood park.
I find Icon a weird one. Really depends on the seat. I still havent done Enso but would love to.
The big one drop is insane. Got serious whiplash from it once. And that lifthill just feels so wild.
I actually love Grand National. It beats you up but thats part of the fun.
Great video, personally i would move both revolution and avalanche further up the list. Great view from the top of the big one....
I remember a kids hoodie at Australia's wonderland, "the Beastie", the parks major coaster was a hoodie called the bush beast.
I think, aside from a travelling eild mouse, Beastie was my first credit.
@@drbongorama Blue Flyer (or Zipper Dipper as was) was my first credit. Did it again recently and is both comfortable and more interesting than the usual Vekoma/Zamperla kiddie coaster.
A Nickelodeon theme on a coaster built in 1933 is truly LOL.
Like your taste on Big One. Its setting also contributes, looks like it might deserve to claim height above sea level, you're looking down at the water.
Great vid--i prefer the Big one with Icon 2nd for me (Husband writing) my wife CazM won't go on the big one but loves Icon
Grand National is the best in the park by alot.
@@Coastervisuals98 Wow! Hot take 😆
Finally somebody who agrees with my Grand National take - I've never seen anybody else like it. Only thing I disagree with is Big One on here. After riding it multiple times and operating on it a few as well, the magic is definitely lost and it's just an old piece of metal that beats up your thighs to me now lmao
Icon by a long shot. Grand National is improved by making obscene gestures at your friends who you’re racing against, which I have never done. I am a paragon of virtue 😉.
Park visit request: LegoLand California for the nostalgia 👍
@@thebowserbrothers Great timing! We’ll be there in a few days 🙌🏻
“It feels like a workout” … that is the perfect description of The Big One.
And it’s why I don’t like it, you have to actively push against the jankiness.
I was born in Blackpool and know these coasters better than any in the world (apart from Infusion, which I’ve only been on once and have no desire to do on again).
When Nickelodeon Streak was Roller Coaster it had comfy sofa-like seats and NO RESTRAINTS.
Big Dippers second drop used to be insanely good.
Grand National used to be my favourite coaster in the world before the new trains came in 2006.
Icon is obviously the best coaster in the park. But I’d have to put Revolution at number two. It’s the only old ride in the park that hasn’t deteriorated beyond recognition. And, while it’s not tall, being pushed into the drops is more intense than modern launched coasters which push you up the hill.
Alice in Wonderland isn't in the public domain? Wizard of Oz is, so I'd imagine Alice is too. Many smaller family parks have had Alice attractions and ones based on other legendary fairy tales for decades. Disney didn't create them, they did their versions of them. Unless Blackpool used specific things from their film and not the fairy tale, they probably didn't need permission.
Unpopular opinion here but i reckon
1. Icon
2. Revolution
3. The Big One
@@ThemeParkLuke Lots of love for Revolution in the comments!
This looks like it could be better than Alton Towers and Thorpe Park. What would you say?
Definitely not lmao. The overall ride quality at Thorpe and Towers vastly succeeds Pleasure Beach. Icon is definitely brilliant - but the rest of the rides are weak in comparison to the other parks :)
@@mitchellries256 Not quite as good as those two, but still a great park!
Absolutely not
No, it’s far below them. The park is made of century old woodies which have little to no force, jankily profiled arrows which only seek to break your neck and a pair of ok Mack’s. Icon is the best ride in the park by far and the only one I consider worth re riding. Towers and Thorpe both have way better coasters, even their mid tiers like 13 and saw blow 90% of BLP’s lineup out the water.
No it has the worst coaster line up.
