    I called Mr. Jordan Frankel known as The Security Sensei of ShatterGARD Glass Protection, Inc. A Division of Global Security Experts to review the OnGARD Security Door Brace. Jordan is a passionate inventor and well sought after expert in home security worldwide. In our conversations he was flying between Saudi Arabia, China and somewhere stateside. He's like the Thomas Edison of home security.
    I've known of door braces for some time now. Usually they are a "door bar jammer" which are installed under the doorknob and pitch to a 45 degree angle to the floor. The OnGARD Security Door Brace is in a another league.

    The idea with all locks is to slow the intruder down long enough for you to lock and load that 12 gauge.The ultimate security when loaded with #1 or #0 buck.

    The Ongard door brace is a very good product. Very similar to the Nightlock door brace by Taylor Brothers Door Lock. And to the folks who comment about how you can only use this when your home, These security devices are still on your back door, basement door, front door or garage entry door. I leave through my garage door, therefore leaving the house almost totally secure. But, there is nothing like waking up in the night to your home being ransacked. Get a door brace. Sleep better guaranteed.

    You mentioned that this device is made from a steel alloy. But another reviewer claims it is made of plastic. Which one is it?

    Good video. You can upgrade the door strike plate and using long screws so it's attached to the studs.
    You may also want to replace the screws in your hinges so they are more secure.
    I don't want to get into defeating this product on an open forum. It definitely is a good product however it only works when you're hinges and deadbolt strike plate are reinforced.
    Sad time's we're living in... Thank you again for sharing. God bless 🙏

    I believe that is made of plastic, however I've heard it's quite strong. Definitely a good product. It's probably stronger than those door rod barricades that rely on a little rubber grip on the floor. The original Fox Police Lock was a metal rod that actually latched into both the door and a special plate bolted into the floor - stronger than today's rubber grip door rods. OnGARD is likely better than the door rod.

    This is a handy tool but it's useless if the door doesn't stay on the frame, this means you need good strike plates both at the locks and the inside frame with London and Birmingham bars as well as 3" or more screwing in hinges and catches etc.

    There is not a building in the world that cannot be broken in time...Items such as this are to buy people time. That is it. If someone wants in your home, they will get in eventually. I have seen robberies with items such as this and the crooks just took a sledge hammer to an exterior wall to gain entry. Keep in mind also, wouldn't you rather the people just take your stuff and leave rather than waiting until you to home or even works, targeting YOU to gain entry...

    Just saw this 8 years later, looking at your video I noticed a flaw in your deadbolt. I'm not a locksmith but I should be, I see this all the time from contractors that don't have a clue on how to properly install a lock, not mentioning they don't use 3" screws, I hope you have those securing the plate. From what I saw in the video, your deadbolt is not coming out all the way when you close the door, the position of the thumb-turn knob indicates it is not fully extended. If that is the case then, it is not in the "deadbolt position", and can be shimmed very easily with a piece of plastic between the door. When you opened the door and showed us the look, it was fully extended, and the thumb-turn knob was in a further left position covering the screw. I hope after all these years you had that fixed. BTW, Great product.

      Burglars don't like to break windows because they make too much noise. And if there's a fire the firemen use an ax. burglars are not going to use an ax. it's too loud. They basically want an easy house to enter. Unless they know you have something really valuable in there, they're going to move on to the next house

    • @barnabyray11
      @barnabyray11 8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      if you want to open it you just take the thing out, you saw it detaches yes? not the screw in part the other. this is mainly for when the family is home and going to bed or the wife feels insecure etc. All a security alarm does is go blaringly loud 15-30 seconds after something happens, this stopper prevents the break in at the door point of entry in the first place. The guy trying to kick in the door or get in any way possible will now have to make more noise by breaking a window or chopping down the door, by which you can meet him with the barrel of your gun, or the cops guns. c'mon use your sense. and by the way, picking locks is the easiest thing to do and almost completely silent.
