I actually wouldn't want something like that. There are a lot of good reasons for DBZA existing, but none of them apply to Daima. Same reason why they'd never do an abridged version of Dragon Ball.
Vegeta saying, "bargain bin Ginyu Force" and then bodying them with a smile on his face would have made this 10x better. Still not good, but better. It's weird they don't compare them to the Ginyu Force. It's like the Z squad has no object permanence. They're literal babies!
to be fair the only ones there that would remember them are Goku and Vegeta. Goku bodied them hard and why would Vegeta care enough to mention it when we’re talking post Buu saga? If Gohan was there, I could see it being mentioned
@DimkaSulegnaa it's weird that they DON'T mention it. Vegeta doesn't care much about his audience (he's got a masturbatory sense of humor), so it'd be very on-brand for him to mock them. The only reason they don't is the same reason they forget they can fly and go Super Saiyan: poorly recycled tropes and lazy writing.
I liked how when the foodie one of the beta force was tied up, he was like oh well they beat us like we were nothing. And just offers goku his chips like they were best friends LOL
Actually we DID see two majin fuse together. With Good Fat Buu and Evil Skinny Buu becoming Super Buu. Well Ebil Skinny Buu turned him into a cookie and ate him, but it lead to the same result.

2:50 I never thought about this but it feels like ever since Battle of Gods Vegeta is not allowed to have fun anymore. He now is this stuck up gentlemen who always in a mood and has a short fuse. Z Vegeta was actually able to smile and have fun, although he had his stuck up moments he balanced that out by enjoying when he was on top.
@@JayceCH.I like that you chose the bingo dance as a moment where he was enjoying himself, the moment where Vegeta humiliates himself in front of everyone in order to stop Beerus from getting mad. He was definitely not having fun.
This has nothing to do with anything but Vegita has the personality of a cat and Goku has the personality of a dog. This defines their relationship. Think about it.
As he is, Degesu could probably have been merged into Arinsu and little would have been lost. He just served as a conversation partner for Gomah in the end... Or, I guess we're not at the end yet. We'll see.
ikr? when he revealed he wanted to be demon king I thought “ok so he’s just like arinsu, except not as smart?” When shin said “arinsu is ambitious but degesu is VERY ambitious”, I thought that was implying they’d have different goals. But like u said, ig we’ll see how it all shakes out
All I learned from this Episode is the Degasu is a Moron, he hired some random girl to steal the 3rd eye and then just tried to leave without even obtaining it 😂
It’s weird how the best part of the show so far was the opening act. I think it’s partially because, even if there wasn’t much story-progression, the four main characters bounced off of each other really well and it was fun seeing them just interact. Now that Vegetas crew joined them, the cast is very bloated and it’s harder for any particular character to get their turn, Piccolo being the prime example. Also, the closer we get to the end of the show, the more episodes where nothing much happens will incite that feeling of „Guys, what are we doing?“
When the gendarmerie force arrived and began to pose i couldn't help but imagine vegeta immediately blasting them away. Goku immediately calling out why did you do that? Vegeta angrily responding, they were reminding me of someone and i don't like it. On a more serious note I like the idea of the gendarmerie force but yeah I wish they would have done something more with them.

From here on it looks like it’s going to be an absolute banger, but shame that this episode just felt like a stepping stone on the way to the climax.
I'm very much with Nick on this one, this is what I expected. Like we are dealing with a group of guys that literally believe it's impossible for these guys to take down a Tamagami, the show very quickly established they are not here to be any sort of threat

So much of post-Cell Dragon Ball has this problem where the creators start buying their own hype. Villains get introduced that aren't a threat to the heroes and the shows waste episodes having the villains get clowned on. In GT, we basically didn't get a credible villain until Baby. In Super, Golden Frieza, Zamasu, and Goku Black were effectively dead on arrival barring the heroes' indolence, and in the entire ToP arc only Jiren and maybe Toppo were real threats. And, of course, the Buu arc in Z starts with a boring tournament followed by an exhibition of 3 monsters that were outmoded at the time of their introduction. Like, we get it. Goku and Vegeta are strong and cool. But if you're going to keep upping the ante, you can't keep putting the heroes ahead of the curve. Daima takes place in a dimension separated from and predating the multiverse inhabited by long-lived creatures. It'd be okay if a few of them have exercised enough to be a threat to Goku and Vegeta. It'd be okay if they, a technologically inclined people who have been around longer than the mortal realm has existed, had some weapons or gadgets that could rival the heroes' martial arts. It'd be okay if you put in a proto-Moros and had the heroes fight some mystically-themed villain with powers they couldn't brute force through.
14:32 This is insanely funnier than you think, because Kakita means little poo in Spanish, if we end up having Kakita vs. Puu I'm going to lose my shit, pun completely intended.
I haven’t watch the whole video yet but I loved the scenes with Gomah and the hired woman because they have some really good character acting in their animations
The fusion medi-bug only works by splitting the two bugs in half to make two people combine. Its like potara earrings. You gotta use both halves to make it work. Also Gomah is going to totally give Calasmos vibes. Baby face on roided out body.
the first time Vegeta took a revive bug in a previous episode i had the thought they would accidentally fuse by eating the wrong bugs even though it was clearly not the right time to blow the fusion load at the time. it would be the best and only way Vegeta would 'agree' to another fusion given the circumstances
if only daima had that lvl of brutality, that'd make the episode for me lol. maybe I have the wrong mindset but having these light-hearted joke characters get brutally killed by vegeta looks pretty funny in my head
29:50 aight, can you guys try Jentry Chau vs the underworld? INSANELY underrated series that I haven't seen getting enough recognition. It's short, sweet, and self-contained too (13 eps)
I would love it if after kaiser said he hates his neighbors he sees them get in their car and they have like a dragon ball sticker on it. He sees that and thinks, "they could possibly see my stuff". The anxiety grows.
You know what would have been cool? If the Gendarmerie were actually one guy who can split into a bunch of smaller/weaker versions. You could do some jokes about fusion ("it's completely different!") and maybe a bit about how the split versions are different because they're different aspects of his personality or each one gets something wrong. Then he could brag about splitting apart to limit his strength and how powerful he is when fully reformed... only for Vegeta to demolish him. I mean, it'd be something.
I enjoyed the off brand ginyu squad, but really it should've been Vegita saying he'll take care of it to a hard cut of them just accepting defeat while they were tied up. I really enjoyed them realizing they were out of their paygrade and cheerfully talked to them while tied up and offered Goku the chips.
I'm not even someone who looks closely at stuff like transitions and animation but this episode really took me out of the show with how weird the pacing and cuts were. This finale gotta be worth it.
Scott! I just wanted to clarify from the last vid, Goku did fall WAAAAY too long, I love your takes and your beard. I do agree with you guys this week. The episode was a snoozer and the earlier eps were great. Big planet, or demon realm whatever, was straight up my favorite. The squeaky sound when Goku got stuck in the book was a chefs kiss. We need a lot of things to payoff and I’m nervous how the show will end. Love you guys 🫶
After loving the original run of "adventure" episodes. I've struggled with anything post super saiyan making it's appearance. There are still so many fun things but they just refuse to elaborate on anything. If it's hype or subversive I'll give them the flowers the show deserves, but my expectations are mild at this point
i wish i’d kept count of the amount of times i’ve said “this is just elden ring stuff.” that fireball was straight out of elden ring, and i know because i beat that boss last night.
I was certain that Degesu was going to use the Tertiary Oculus (using that name because it's funny) for himself to create a three-party power struggle for the throne.
Okay hear me out: - Goku and Vegeta get beat up in base by Kuu and Duu after not taking the fight seriously (lmao) - Piccolo gives them the Join Bugs by mistake and they fuse together - Fused Goku/Vegeta get mad that they’re fused, refuse to fight Kuu and Duu because it would be unfair - Kuu and Duu decide that they can also join together to fight, maybe by Kuu absorbing Duu or the other way around - They get their fair 1 on 1 fight between the two fused parties
I was really hoping Vegeta would make a comment referencing the Ginyu Force. Like, maybe enjoy beating up these guys while remembering the annoyances of the Ginyus in the past.
I'm calling it, Vegeta will refuse the fusion with the bugs, and Kuu and Duu will use them to fuse to take down Gomah that is going to go batshit insane. So no new fusion for the Saiyan Bros !
18:37 - I thought it was established earlier that Glind don't use the concept of Gender as we do. They just simply look the way they want to look. And they've shown Glinds to have magical abilities that can change bodies, remember Gokus ears with Warp-Sama? That said, I did assume the hat lady was just a person hired by Degesu.
The fact that they made someone else put the eye in might be a "failsafe" of some kind. You can't put the eye on yourself, and someone else has to do it. You can't claim you're the demon king...someone else has to do that for you. Just personal theory.
Yeah the storyboarding complaint is super valid here, it's almost like they cut a ton of this episode for time or something. The boss sentai mook gets his fireball going and suddenly the whole (mostly defeated already) squad is fine? Like, what?
I think above all else, despite it's flaws, it is impressive that we are dealing with downsides on such a short amount of time. when you consider the downsides of Super and just how much they were DRAGGED out or added to over scenes that were genuinely enjoyable, Daima having problems, despite being about 20 episodes or so, the problems feel like they get over and done with almost as soon as they start. yeah, they can absolutely be disappointing, but it does feel, for better or worse in alot of ways, the series doesn't want to hang on anything new that's not vital to the overarching story for more than one episode so far. which considering, if there's one thing DragonBall has been known for, it is EXACTLY THIS PROBLEM, OVER LONG PERIODS OF TIME, Daima having these kinds of issues feels like "you don't like this? aight, lets move on after it." for the most part.
Gomah turned himself into Garlic Jr in Jiren’s spandex

The animation for the scene between Gomah and the girl was all done by Ryo Onishi by the way.
Giant gohma reminds me of that one skit from robot chicken. ATTACK OF THE GIANT MIDGET!! but even gianter than that.
Looping the eye getting pushed in is the exact kind of joke you guys would make.
Keep it up guys. I've been watching for over 10 years.
Knowing how Dragon Ball works, "Looks like 17 is gonna be a banger" was an oof from the get go.
I was half hoping that this fight would have been like the Axem Rangers fight in Super Mario Bros Z in that it's a stomp, but it's a fun stomp.
if only daima had that lvl of brutality, that'd make the episode for me lol. maybe I have the wrong mindset but having these light-hearted joke characters get brutally killed by vegeta looks pretty funny in my head
The plot is plotting and stakes are finally staking
29:50 aight, can you guys try Jentry Chau vs the underworld? INSANELY underrated series that I haven't seen getting enough recognition. It's short, sweet, and self-contained too (13 eps)
I would love it if after kaiser said he hates his neighbors he sees them get in their car and they have like a dragon ball sticker on it. He sees that and thinks, "they could possibly see my stuff". The anxiety grows.
11:31 Radits moment
"i don't wanna be negative" proceeds to be totally negative lol
I don't like being negative. But I'm always honest.
@@KaiserNekoEXACTLY
Nick and Lani pull a "Nice opinion, did a TH-camr give it to you" on their own comments.
Nice.
Nice sword pun, nice pun
I had to rewind the hand thing a couple times to catch what was going on
Love the mortal combat 2 reference. Loved poking fun of that movie back in the day.
I know they will never do it but hear me out
Dragon ball daima abridged like ill accept it like buu bits at this point
i like how the guy on the right is trying to talk about a kids show
I'm not even someone who looks closely at stuff like transitions and animation but this episode really took me out of the show with how weird the pacing and cuts were.
Basically the skinny guy pulled out his gun and it hit the Captain's hand
if yall dont do a redub of Degesu getting called the Radditz of the demon world i will be VERY disappointed hahaha
Well Degesu was soo weak, even farmer with shotgun would beat him. A hat thrown by a weakling made him drop his weapon and floored him.
Degesu goofs up and accidentally loyally does his job while attempting to betray Gomah
1:15 a simple change of expression says a thousand words
After loving the original run of "adventure" episodes. I've struggled with anything post super saiyan making it's appearance. There are still so many fun things but they just refuse to elaborate on anything. If it's hype or subversive I'll give them the flowers the show deserves, but my expectations are mild at this point
i wish i’d kept count of the amount of times i’ve said “this is just elden ring stuff.” that fireball was straight out of elden ring, and i know because i beat that boss last night.
Poor Kaiser, It sucks to become an expert at something you love, and that expertise makes it harder to enjoy said thing the way you used to.
I don’t know if this counts as boomer media, but Spaceballs.
I was certain that Degesu was going to use the Tertiary Oculus (using that name because it's funny) for himself to create a three-party power struggle for the throne.
Piccolo is probably just there to absorb Neva to seal the Demon Realm Dragon Balls and/or, as you said last week, take the throne of the Demon Realm.
Okay hear me out:
- Goku and Vegeta get beat up in base by Kuu and Duu after not taking the fight seriously (lmao)
- Piccolo gives them the Join Bugs by mistake and they fuse together
- Fused Goku/Vegeta get mad that they’re fused, refuse to fight Kuu and Duu because it would be unfair
- Kuu and Duu decide that they can also join together to fight, maybe by Kuu absorbing Duu or the other way around
- They get their fair 1 on 1 fight between the two fused parties
I was really hoping Vegeta would make a comment referencing the Ginyu Force. Like, maybe enjoy beating up these guys while remembering the annoyances of the Ginyus in the past.
I feel like Arinsu’s motive in the end will be to wish for a new glind tree and she’ll end up siding with the gang against Gomah
Oh! That might be interesting
"You want this kid?"
"i want that kid."
Kaiser’s theorized Majin Puu + Winnie the Pooh = Majin the Puu
I'm calling it, Vegeta will refuse the fusion with the bugs, and Kuu and Duu will use them to fuse to take down Gomah that is going to go batshit insane. So no new fusion for the Saiyan Bros !
People always have to go in THAT direction
Honestly thought Degesu used magic to turn into that girl for the 3rd Eye but then that got quickly thrown out the window
I thought Degasu was buying time for Pride Trooper Gomah to get the eye-guffin.
The fact that they made someone else put the eye in might be a "failsafe" of some kind. You can't put the eye on yourself, and someone else has to do it. You can't claim you're the demon king...someone else has to do that for you. Just personal theory.
Piccolo is just there to learn his heritage
Goma is such a Dragon Quest final boss. Dude could have come straight out of DQ.
Yay, now Oozaro Goku has something to fight for the finally.
I hope piccolo gets to fight the Majins!
That’ll show he’s keeping up with the saiyans
So, if Kuu and Duu are the threat in the next episode, and Gomah is the threat in 18, that means 19 and 20 have to be dedicated to the old Namekian.
5:13 I got your back, Lani, very punny.
Also if Super is a C+ and this show, sticking the landing, would be an A for you, where would GT be?
