🌈Chinese Adverbs: Comparing 就(jiù) 才(Cái) 只( zhǐ) (With Examples)
In today's Chinese grammar lesson, I'll explain these three commonly used adverbs
只(zhǐ), 就(jiù) and 才(cái), translatable as “only”. However, there is NO
EXACT equivalence in English or probably in your language. I'd recommend you to remember each CONTEXTS and the function. I use them ALL THE TIME. They can help you add a natural feel in your language and help you get your meaning crossed just like how natives do!

equivalent in dutch : jiù : reeds/al cai : amper, slechts, maar ( isufficient), pas ( late ! ), pas or amper -both - very few time . zhi :alleen maar, amper, slechts ( only)

原來中文的一字多意也有這麼多的文法，難怪外國人不好學習。
就、才、只這三個字，我的第一想法是依據心中的預期的程度是否滿足而判斷使用的
但我想到兩個例子，可能是套用的文法其實是不同的，沒辦法用我的想法來說明
給妳做個參考，看看教學上有沒有疏漏。
例一
這個便當只要100元(滿足預期價格)
這個便當才100元而已(滿足預期價格)
這個便當就要100元了(超出預期價格)
例二
女友交代出門去幫她買飲料，到家時爸媽和女友都在客廳看電視
把飲料遞給女友後，
爸爸：才一瓶?（吃醋、揶揄)
女友：就一瓶?（驚訝、置身事外)
媽媽：只有一瓶? (疑問、埋怨)
(都不滿足心中預期?)
你好老师。I was reading one text and here is the sentence 图书馆今天和明天有活动，学生才能去。Can we use 只 instead of 才 in the last part of the sentence? Thank you. Your videos are very informative.

jiu4 also can translate well as "then" as in "if ... then " ru guo ... jiu4.
i thought "yao shi ... jiu" means "only if" as opposed to "ru guo ... jiu" which leaves open other possible ways to get to the result
or am i so wrong so very wrong?
yao shi要是+condition. That means as long as...Which doesn’t mean only if. For instance, 要是你喜歡我就買給你 as stated in the video, as long as you like it, I’ll buy it for you. That shows I buy it for you Because you like it, this reason is enough for me to buy it for you. ( which is the only condition needed)
If you want to spoil someone, you just need to say that:)
要是yào shì can also be used interchangeably with 如果 ru guo

Does 就- on the sentence 就是這個- should be use if u already mentioned the subject previously , that people already knows what u are talking about? Ex: u have been talkin about a shoes u are looking for to ur friends and later on u finally find it and say -oh 就是這雙鞋子。

我看台劇的時候聽過一個人說「我才不要跟你當朋友」，所以我還在一點混亂因為你說「只」通常在動詞之前。「才」有時候在動詞之前嗎？
是保羅嗎？😊 嗯 這裡的例句（跟影片提的不太一樣），但是，對，的確是「才」在動詞之前。 「才不要」是一個既定的用法a fixed expression。
這樣子記比較簡單。
「我才不要去！」I don’t want to go NO.
「我才不要吃！」I don’t want to eat that NO. (Emphasized angry 😤 tone)
How do you think I can translate that to be more native like??

my taiwanese friend tell me that Taiwan chinese is diffrent to china chinese but somehow other words have the same meaning but Id rather study to Taiwan chinese since im here in taiwan to work.
