Love the burnished one ... I too LOVE glitter, well anything sparkly & shiny... I'm sure I was a magpie in a previous life.... I just live for glitter ✨️ 💛 💖
I love glitter, and tend to go for small to fine because I can't handle the pokie uppie bits, LOL. I'm a picker and will inevitably tear that shit apart! This was very helpful; thank you Jo. Love to you and Dexter ❤️
I just started following you and I wanted to say how grateful I am to you for sharing your awesome content! Watching your videos really helps with my depression/anxiety. I have a pretty good support system where I am but I don’t hang out socially so with you it feels like I’m having a “girls day” which is something us women really need from time to time. So thank you for that! I love the good clean humor I get from your content! And I absolutely enjoy your work! Thanks again for all you bring to this crazy chaotic world! You’re amazing!🫶🏼💋💅🏼
Oh! That's amazing, thank you so much! 💓 I have horrendous anxiety which has ruined my life, so I know how important it is to have little things that can distract and calm when you're feeling bad. I'm grateful to be able to help a little! We do bug hugs for anxiety on this channel - they're like big hugs, but more squishy and nutritious 🐛 😆 So bug hugs to you, and don't forget: you have survived 100% of your worst days, and sometimes just getting out of bed and brushing your teeth is enough. We are stronger than we know for dealing with this shiz! Oh, also: every day will end in pj's and cosy in bed. Sometimes it's good to remember that; there is always a zen chill waiting for you. 🥰🥰
Thank you Miss Jo! Love it! Another wonderful video. I was doing my own nails just the other day. Why was " Put that shit in the lamp"! Going on in my head every time I had to cure my nails. You make doing nails so much fun! 💖💖💖💅
Bribery I agree, I watch it for the nails and the “rambley bits” lol I get home from work and tuck myself away in my bedroom and turn on a nail video and unwind before I throw myself into everything to do at home for the day!!! I love watching your videos, doing my own nails I have learned a lot because in all honesty I wasn’t ever a polish person, any polish didn’t matter. I’ve always just done acrylic and been done, however now I still do acrylic but I can do just clear or a cover color and then polish instead of using colored acrylic!!! Ok now I’m rambling lol so off I go to finish your video!!!
Ah I love having a simple pleasure like that! Mine is Aurikaterina and her cleaning videos 😆 I'm happy to be one of yours! Glad you are enjoying using polish! I see your correction, but I still don't know what you mean by 'bribry'. Maybe it's something to do with something I said in the video...I just can't remember what 🤣💭
Loved this tutorial (I came from Dark Valentine 2023), and laughed so hard at your Love Actually Colin reference, and very much reminded me of JD as Capt Jack with his "I've got a Jar of Dirt" line .... I love that meme ,,,, Fair winds Capt Jack x :) Back to you Miss Jo, great tips, love the colour choice too, it shows well on camera, thank you :)
Hi! 👋 I just found your channel. I have recently started doing my own gel nails and I am obsessed. I just have to tell you I love your videos!!! 🥰 You crack me up!
I don't use non-holo glitter very often (like, why would I *not* want to use holo?🙄) but there were a couple times I did and ended up with the silver bits after buffing it smooth. I didn't want to go over with more glitter, so I went over with a matching jelly color and that actually worked pretty well! I've also used a jelly color over silver glitter if I don't have the right color glitter🤗
Hello Miss Jo ❣ I love the color of the glitters. 💖 I love fine glitters better cause I just don't know what to do with chunky but I'll get there. Thank you for sharing. 🥰💖💫🌜💖🤗
I absolutely love ALL of your videos and have to admit to becoming a little obsessed. However, I feel I may be in danger of getting myself in trouble in the not too distant future. On two occasions I have come very close to telling a client to ‘get that sh*t in the lamp’ and nearly told one I’d marbled her nails like a ‘f***ing champion’ 🙈 😂. Thanks for keeping me entertained as well as the fab designs and great info xx
These are some of the things they DON'T teach you in nail school.🙄I was using the same technique regardless of the size of the glitter (the one you use for the largest glitter), except I didn't use builder gel, just gel polish. Thanks for sharing this valuable info. Good to know! 💅💗💗💗
Ah I'm so glad it was helpful! Yeah I didn't learn anything about glitter (or any art/embellishments etc) in my course! Just plain gel polish and extensions!
Love Actually is a great film 😅 thanks for the tip to half cure, I’ve struggled with glitter since getting a new lamp! It’s just too powerful so will be trying a half cure next time!
@@MissJosNailCo I watch it every Christmas too, that and The Holiday! I had my first proper client a couple of days ago and the half cure worked a treat!
I do like this video, very helpful and informative. I've always been a little apprehensive about using builder gels. I tried it once and it went everywhere except on the nail🤣. I might have another go, because l do have some chunky glitters that l haven't used. Thank Jo 😘 fab vid 🥰😍
I loved this video super helpful. I have definitely gotten the silver specks before. I really like these in depth video. Thanks so much for them. You have no idea how much they help people like me that are self taught and do this just for fun.
I’m not well but I’m smiling and getting through it!! 😊🙏🏼Hope you are well! 🙏🏼❤️ The glitters are gorgeous!! I love creating dimensional nails with different size glitter and bits of mylar. ❤️
Miss Joseph, DON’T EVER SHUT UP! I love your “rambley bits”! 🤣 Maybe it’s because I too take the scenic route in trying to explain ANYTHING. I do have a question for you that I’m not sure if you’ve ever covered, I don’t remember if you have. I am new on this whole nail adventure, but I was wondering how do you clean your files and brushes? I hear a lot of people say to run brushes through base coat and then use a lint free wipe, but I’m so confused as to what that means exactly. 🤣 I mean I understand the words they’re saying but after you use the wipe then what? You just leave it? Isn’t it sticky? And what about files? I don’t use my stuff on anybody other than me and my daughter yet so I’m not worried about her getting my cooties. If she doesn’t have them by now then I must try harder! ❤️ Sorry if you’ve covered this before, I looked and didn’t find anything. But you just explain stuff that makes sense in my head 😂🥰😘
Haha! 🤣 I shan't! Some people will wipe their brushes with cleanser on a lint free wipe, then run through a bit of base coat with it, then wipe the excess off with a lint free wipe, so the bristles stay moist (🤢) and are ready for use the next time. Personally, a soak a lint free wipe in isopropyl alcohol (cleanser). So I get the wipe wet, put my brush on it, fold it in half, and twist the brush. Sometimes scribble with the brush on the wipe (like pen on paper) if it's not too fragile of a brush, and then wipe as above, but I don't do the base coat thing, I just use a soaked wipe again to un-stiffen the bristles before the next use. I hope that makes sense!!
Hi there Jo as usual you shared so much detail with this tutorial. I’ve kept from using glitter. I’m going to try the burnish One. I love the one you did. First I have to get to where I can sit I had a complete knee replacement, but I’m still watching the tutorials. You take care keep up the wonderful work.
Oh! I hope your knee recovers quickly and fully 🤕. Definitely try the burnish - it's such a great way to glitter, especially if you're not confident using it. Even now, when someone asks for a glitter that isn't burnished, I'm like 'meh', a fine glitter is so much easier to work with!
Thanks for the vid, I have a load of glitters in my drawer that I didn't know what do with, but now I do! P.S. would you mind sharing what colour you have on your own nails please, I LOVE it. Thank you 😀
Get those glitters OUT! 😆 It's from a brand that closed down I'm afraid. Try searching for a rose gold glitter, as it's a little more pink than just gold. Sorry!
Do you clean the glitter brush dry, with alcohol, or with acetone? How do you keep glitter out of your top coat? Do you also occasionally look at your black dog and notice he's shimmering in the light through no fault of his own?
I tend to clean them dry, just by circling them on the paper towel, but sometimes I'll circle them on a lint wipe soaked in isopropyl alcohol. The glitter comes out easier when dry though! I tend to have a separate top coat for glitters, but I'll always try and float the top coat so it doesn't drag. If you've dusted the nail off enough, it should be too bad, but if it is, give the top coat brush a wipe before going back in the bottle. Haha, I think Dexter shimmers in my eyes anyway 😆 When I look at him, it's like he's sparkling and glowing and ethereal 24/7 🤣❤️🐶
I don't put base coat on these display tips, but I would do the usual application of tip/form (or nothing if you're not extending length) then do a thin layer of builder gel, and then if you wanted to out gel polish colour on before the glitter (I'd use a soft builder if you were) I would probably buff the initial thin build layer, then colour polish, then carry on like the vid. I hope that makes sense!! Basically if using builder gel, I'd want a coat of builder down before doing anything else.
I don't. You can buff the pop first if you want, but I just go straight in with colour. If I'm swatching glitter, I'll use base cost on the underside of the pop, dip in the glitter, cure (upside down) and done!
No worries! Thank you! 🥰 I have some in A4 box frames along the side of my desk, and a whoooole bunch in a washed out ice-cream tub 😆😆. I have a desk tour video which shows the frames (I think I just had a little taramasalata pot for the others then!)
Love the burnished one ... I too LOVE glitter, well anything sparkly & shiny... I'm sure I was a magpie in a previous life.... I just live for glitter ✨️ 💛 💖
Great info, Jo! You better not, EVER, hush your mouth, Joseph! Your humor makes my day SHINE!
Haha! 🤣 Oh OK, I shan't!

Right this minute. Drop everything, cover yourself in no wipe top coat, roll around in holo glitter, then get under a sunbed 🤣
