american cheese you disregard the times when the game literally breaks. The first time I fought curse rotted great wood, the sacks on it's ankle and hand didn't pop, they just dealt normal damage to it. So I just hit those until it died, I never went to phase two.
Just play a strength build, eventually you will find a weapon that can one shot bosses

@@pontiff_zero8279 Dancer at a decent level wasn't fun. Currently on Dragonslayer armour or whatever and I've spent a good few hours trying. Came very close a few times

Pestilent Mercury (The sorcery) makes the fight laughable.
MediocritysMuse I’d argue against that, get a LKGS (Lothric knight great sword), either heavy, sharp, or lightning if you have at least 20 faith I’d say, shield unnecessary but useable (preferably Dragon crest or black iron).
When attacking always have in two hands, don’t use a light attack if you can heavy, preferably a charged heavy (only light if you have only enough time for it). First of all, when he roars and he hunches on his back legs is a bite grab which will probably one-shot. He has a telegraphed left to right or right to left swipe attack that is not interchangeable with the other claw attacks. If you are underneath him he will usually do a fire breath and of course you run away (but he can just jump away). Also, when you get in move back a little and just stand there, if done right his first berserk move will completely miss and net a free charged heavy. Now he has two other claw combos in memory that are both the same speed which have 4 and 5 hits respectively. Now if he aims his head down and spews fire, he will follow up with a vertical then left to right laser that explode the ground after about half a second. Now there is a fly by fire attack, to avoid just run to the left from your perspective, the fire spreads right but never left allowing you to just barely miss it. 2nd phase has three new moves, his laser berserk, just get close to his feet and it should miss netting you about three charged heavies. A right claw slam that he roars and summons affinity sprites, just run away left or right to avoid. And his dark explosion, pretty obvious, when he begins to absorb energy just run away. Attacking the head with a two handed heavy is the most favourable outcome of any dodge but only attack his head if you can. Oh and he can back step and do a straight line of fire, just dodge left or right.
Just use dragon slayers axe, the one handed one you get from the dude you kill with Sirris and use lighting blade walk backward get two hits and continue the boss is pretty easy
Legitimately, Midir is one of the easiest bosses in the game, every move is well-telegraphed and all attacks are dodge-able. Hardest to avoid is the rampage, but even that is easy and at most, you'll only get hit once. Always be running towards the head and stay locked on, except when moving in to avoid the laser.
Love how the friendly music in the background makes you feel like every single thing you run into is not trying to tear you to pieces.
How to play with Dark souls 2 durability, use the storm ruler.
Dark Souls 2 durability worked well in that game tho, this is just limiting the weapon to a gimmick or a masochist(youtuber)'s weapon.

I've found that letting Gael tank Papa Ariandel, while I deal with Friede works in phase 2, since she constantly tries to heal if they get below a certain health level, you can punish pretty hard when she starts the animation
So... I waited 20 minutes just to see if the Storm Ruler had something special to it...¨

Hollowslayer is so much better it's ridiculous. The storm ruler has the damage value of a straightsword and the DPS of a scythe, yeah i said it.

I think the point of the vid is getting as powerful as you can get while going through as few bosses as possible. What you are detailing means you have to kill Watchers, Wolnir, and then Pontiff to get the rat back.

Low level no upgrade run. Therefore everything is early. Gael, midir, SoC. Everything.

For reference, he did 28,000 DAMAGE WITH THE EQUIVALENT OF A +4 WEAPON, USING AN EXTREMLEY BAD WEAPON, WITH ONLY 10 +3 ESTUS. TRY BEATING DEMON PRINCE WITH THAT.

advice for the damned souls and emotionally unwell individuals that would use this like a guide:
giving the captains ashes (from the top of the tower with the Millwood archer as you run past the dogs) to the handmaiden unlocks a single scale for purchase from the shop

theres a much more optimal way to perform a scale run, via killing the dancer (i recommend squillakillas fist only run as a guide) before or during your traipse through ariandel and looting scales from lothric castle, which will allow you to obtain a +5 in the dreg heap. i have performed this setup numerous times with the hollowslayers GS, and usually do the dancer at +2, but the dark hand works just fine. have fun :)

There’s more to Storm Ruler than just the weapon skill, you know. Any weapon can be fairly reliable in the game if you spend time upgrading it. Besides, the Hollowslayer isn’t much better when considering every possible build you could have, including no Hollowing. The whole point of the video is getting a Max upgraded weapon by beating the bare minimum amount of bosses, and Greatwood is already optional and doesn’t drop any upgrade materials, so for the conditions of this video it’s just wasted time.
I’m doing my first play though of DS3. And I haven’t found a weapon I like as much as the plain old broadsword. Every boss except IG, Vordt and Yhorm has fallen to, what I’ve decided to call The Bastard. Yeah, I’ve named it and I’m loving it.
it's sick, still use the +10 chaos infused one in my first ng+ run particularly to deal with the slimes in Demon Ruins and Anor Londo, with some bonk weapon as a main one
for the twinkling tiddies, it'd be faster and easier to kill dancer before you kill friede. Then, go through Lothric Castle. You get a slab when you go down to the depths of the painting. You get a few like maybe 3 or 4 twinklies through the normal progression of the rest of the dlc leading up to fighting dunnel in the basement. Then all you need is like 2 or 3 more from lothric castle. Which is very quick and easy to get

The souls community I feel, is better because the people who watch ymfahs videos, are actually pretty decent. I saw someone who was struggling with midir, be given advice by someone else. (The comments were dated 11 months ago and according to the 1st comment, the guy was struggling since the dlc came out 3 years ago)

I feel like the Titanite Scale one was.. off.. my first run was with the Vordt Great Hammer and I'm fairly certain I got it to +4 rather quickly. Like right before or after Watchers.
not sure you you managed it, you can only get like 4 scales before you beat watchers.. and for sure not 15

Eh, for me Friede was a hell of a lot easier than Midir or Gael. Friede took me only a few attempts on my first encounter, while Midir is one of the only two bosses that ever took me more than 50 attempts (The other being Abyss Watchers. Leave me alone.). Gael, while he only took a few attempts too, was far more difficult than Friede. I relied on luck (Not the stat, god.) far more to beat Gael than Friede, but then again, Friede is one of the types of bosses that I just find easy.
If anyone lazy enough and doesnt want to look at the description the song at the beginning is powerwolf christ and combat there saved you 30 min of your life lookin for the song
To this day I don't understand how people can beat Friede early. Every time I go for a backstab, where everyone else gets it she immediately jumps away on both phase 1 and 3. Every time she uses that ice slam attack, I get behind her and still somehow get hit and die.
To make matters worse, every time I manage to avoid her 15-hit 1 trillion damage combo in phase 3 she immediately resets and continues wailing on my ass.
Phase 2 is piss easy when Gael distracts Friede, but fuck me if she ever comes within ten metres of me, I'm getting frostbite fucked from every angle.
Not to mention in both phases 1 and 3 I time my dodges perfectly and still manage to get clipped. Sometimes my controller just goes "Fuck you" and stops me dodging even when I press the buttons I need to.
And this is on low level, I still find her a pain in the ass at high level because she's too damn fast. And who the fuck thought it was a good idea to give the girl in cloth NOT ONLY bloodborne speed quickstep, but ALSO hyper armor and an instakill combo.
I adore this bosses lore and the design of the fight itself. But she can just go fuck herself, RNG bullshit ridden fucking disaster of a boss fight.
Timing is key my dude. I beat her on a SL20 build with a +2 Dagger and no summons including gael, it's certainly possible. Just keep fighting her and eventually you'll learn your timings and spacings. Took me like 45 attempts, but every time you attempt it you learn a little more about the fight.
My biggest complaint with Friede is the length. Having three phases is surprising and quite epic, but I feel the boss would have worked better split into two separate fights. Ariandel would be his own boss while Friede would keep phases 1 and 3.
Sadly Friede's 3rd phase only makes sense within the context of Ariendel dying.
Phase 1 is just Friede.
Phase 2 is Friede revived by Ariendel's fire(ember) since she is unkindled.
Phase 3 Friede is pushed to such grief and sorrow by Ariendel's death that her black flame ignites and she becomes Blackflame Friede.

Are you really saying that? Clearly you’re overestimating your abilities. If you get hit, you didn’t dodge well. It’s as simple as can be.

Not bad, killing the demon princes with lvl 36 and +2 (+4) weapon. Lowest I went so far was lvl 47 and +4 broadsword and that one took me a few attempts. But I also went on killing Midir and Gael with the same setup. :)

Don't have to fight Friede, climb down branches to where the Ice Crabs are, kill tree at very back of alley, lower ladder, climb to very longggggggggg ladders and voila: Slab.
Michele R you have to kill friede to get more twinkiling titanite or scales to +4 the weapon that's why he doesn't use that slab
he needs to kill Freide to gain access to Dreg Heap without killing the Twin princes
The point of this was to get to Midir as fast as possible

Try running at it where the lit side and shadow side meet on the tree. if that makes sense....
then after you get up, jump sort of towards the center of the ledge.
If you're playing on console, i found its a lot easier to make it with jump as L3 instead of holding + pressing circle.
