@micaelavelasquez12 you can do it! Remember, if you score the folds of the inside of the cover, then it will close easier. (If you're using veg tanned leather.) (Use a V Gouge or just lightly score with a blade.)
@@sabrooksc Thank you for positive words and tips! I messed up and had to start new, however today I was successful at getting the design on, dyed and glued an additional piece. This week I’ll try those grooves and do some skiving. After this project is done I’ll try doing one where you can replace the paper easily. Fun project!!!

I do something similar with elastic bands on the spine so I can slide in a small travel notebook.
For the corners you can order metal corners that have little spikes on them. They are 90 deg corners and can be tapped into place with a hammer giving you nice sharp and protected corners.
Ive also done one on pull up leather where I transfered an image to it with tracing paper then used a wood burner to brand the image into the leather. I love the way that one turned out.
There are so many options when making books and notebooks, you can really get creative with it.

OLD Leather Smith here, EXCELLENT JOB DANIEL since I Repair books I found 2 wood blocks & a vice works well 2 keep the edges together so I can use a plain 2 straighten all the edges. I also built my own vice out of 4x4 & drilled holes & used carrage bolts & wing nuts 2 keeep any sixe of pages together before sewing & straighting the edges.
If U would like instruction on said vice I would B happy 2 explain it 2 U in detail.

To get the lacing through the leather, could you cut the lacing to a point and use a perma lock needle? Awesome video. Thank you!
Yes, absolutely!
For the signatures, if you were doing a lot of these, a woodworkers vice would be helpful for clamping it to flatten it down and for holding it to even the edges. I doubt you would be able to cut them with a knife but holding them steady to sand would be a big help. I think they make a version that sits below your bench so it doesn't get in your way when not in use.
Instead of blank paper, you can use your pc and printer to make custom designs on the paper (or print pictures.)

Please reconsider how you teach. Rather than explain what you are about to do followed by high speed video please tell what you are doing as you do the procedure as the video plays in real time. The extensive use of high speed video in this particular You Tube makes it very difficult to understand the most intricate parts of the project.
