Moving a BIG SHED

- What a relief to finally have this shed on a foundation again. As much as it's been fun to push this thing around, I'm glad to be done. There's nothing more satisfying than some creative problem solving.

That tractor is crazy. I've never seen one like it before.
It's a locally made machine that isn't produced anymore. The "Domor" is really just an 8' bucket loader with a 6-way blade in the back. The blade has a float position and rides on the little wheel behind it so it can set very fine-tuned grades. The 4 wheel steering makes it super maneuverable, and the ground clearance makes it so you can climb right over piles. I borrow it from work, It's fun to operate.

Always better to pull than push. You could even lift as you pull. I know this is late. Just an idea. 😊
I was thinking the same thing. With a horse of a tractor like that, I would have pulled it up, via the skids, with a little lift from the bucket to help reduce plowing.
As I like to say, never try to move a building; put the building on something and move the something.
I hear ya, it definitely pulled easier. I pushed it because my lean-to roof was in the way of getting behind the shed. I didn't want to move that again since it took some damage the last time I moved it.

That's not a bad idea. There's rolls of old conveyer belt material where I work. I could cut some squares out of it. I'll have to give that some thought, thanks.
looking great, just want too share a gravel story, parts of my yard I used river gravel as a base, other parts crusher run, the river rock with the smooth rock i had voles and chipmunk activity, the crusher.
run with the sharp sides no activity , so the crusher run under your building is a good move.
For sure, I don't use round stones for anything really. Crushed stone is the way to go!

Are you worried about uplift?
You could epoxy some threaded rod into your footings with a countersunk hole.
We don't have severe winds here historically, so I'm not too concerned about uplift. There's no record of tornadoes in the area, and winds rarely hit 50 mph. I'm gambling that the weight of the shed is enough. But if I lived somewhere else, then it could be an issue. The threaded rod is a good idea. I also could've set steel strapping into the concrete and nailed it to the side of the skids. I'm putting my faith in gravity. If it tips over, I'll post the video 😄
Slid right home, just like you planned. Not that "Plan A' needed a backup but did you consider try pushing the shed on rollers? Steel pipe or round wooden posts. Good story telling. Thats for the video.
I did think about it, but it left me with some questions. How do I get it up onto the first roller, and what happens to the rollers when they hit the footing? If the rollers go up onto the footings, how do I get them out from under and safely lower the shed? I'm sure I could figure out the answers, but the ramps took less brain power 😄

Yeah. What I've been wondering now is how do I get something in there. I might have to get a car jack and lift one corner at a time.
