I love this guy -He invented the internet- pretty wild - Vint Cerf - cool name too.. What is he doing now. Everyone needs to work together to solve these problems. Government, tech, entrepreneurs, Bussiness people, students - I just don't see that happening now.
Wow this was really informative! For using the Internet as much as I do, I was never aware of its origins and how the early stages of development and strategy occurred. On another note, I particularly enjoyed his point that, “You have to be a salesman to do anything big.” More often then not, a ‘salesman’ is notorious for being slimy and manipulative, however, after watching this video, my take on the typical ‘salesman’ is a bit different. Instead of being manipulative, perhaps salesman help people become more open minded and give in to opportunities that may benefit them versus being closed off, cagey, and resistant to change. Granted it depends on the intentions of the salesman and the ‘product’ being sold, but, still, it’s a new perspective that struck me as interesting. Thankfully Cerf and Kahn were effective salesman, otherwise we would not have this wonderful information sharing entity today: the internet.
Kaila Reed Good salesmen make and keep the sale, and keep up a sales relationship, not just make the sale as soon as possible and screw the consequences after. (aka you change the others' mind, not just exchange a single product)
It's crazy to think of the internet as not always being there. We are so reliant on it for so many things that I'm curious to see how the world would be today if it had never exisited.
Relatively speaking the internet hasn't been around for that long. It's amazing to think how much has been accomplished with the internet in such a short time, and how much more could be accomplished with the internet in the future.
With the internet being such an impactful and important entity in society today, it is interesting to learn about its origins and original intents
