@@esmooth919 The moves aren't undodgeable, in fact those moves are probably one of their most readable and punishable because at this point EVERYONE expects PK Fires/ Freezes, and they have been eaten, absorbed, reflected, shielded, dodged, and punished. PK Fire. The "inescapable pillar of fire?" It's easier to D.I out of it now than in 4 I've found. Even then, it's punishable because Ness has extra endlag frames for that animation, so blocking/ deflecting the bolt leaves him open. In fact, you should try a reflecting character if you want to bring the hurt on him so bad. As for Freeze, it's more viable offstage, as it's much riskier to do on the stage. You can grab Lucas before the blast is dropped, or block it, reflect it, absorb it, ect. If you're offstage, you may want to delay your recovery or use directional dodging at an earlier tine to mixup your opponent. Doesn't change the fact they still have the most risky recovery, since they're completely open to spikes or projectiles while making PK Thunder, and Ness has it wven worse because if the ball of electricity touches ANYTHING, he goes into freefall. Don't get me wrong, when I see 1-move spammers calling themselves "Ness mains" or "Lucas mains," I get upset too. I whooped a Ness that thought he had combos and all he did was PK Fire and F-Smash. Had to put him in his place tho 😂😂. But there's worse characters to complain about, seriously.

If you're talking about Luigi, then he's still just as annoying as he was in Smash 4. The guy is still top tier. You guys say he isn't just to mess with other people. Smh
Eduardo Trevino His Down B isn’t a recovery move anymore, and his grab is a risky tether. Those were his bread n butter in smash 4. He’s no Kirby, but Sakurai really had it out for Luigi this time around. I understand Elegants frustration, I’d be mad too if I were him
@@MannFace51 He didn't even need his down b to be a recovery. Luigi's jump and up b are already good enough as they are. Even so, he still recovers pretty mad. His grab isn't completely useless since I've seen people edge guard with it pretty good and if someone plays him like Elegant, then they can do that annoying grab to kill combo.
Eduardo Trevino Dude Luigi’s down B was amazing, because it could be used to recover, you could use it to gimp people trying to recover from low and make it back yourself, the grab combos also are DI dependent to an extent, so nothing’s guaranteed. And the tether gimping is a minor positive to an overall bad grab. You almost never see it used offensively, he’s now a one trick pony that can’t really win neutral and is susceptible to gimping. Sure, he’s usable online. But in practice in a tournament setting he falls apart. Unless he’s changed or some Japanese guy figures him out, he’s staying low mid tier.
I’ll never understand spikes similar to that of 4:12 I feel like it’s never talked about but it should be. Or maybe it has been talked about and I haven’t seen any explanation. Can this actually be implemented into actual play? Is the timing specific? Does your spike have to be long enough to go through the stage? If anyone can explain, that would be cool.
The game doesn't account for line of sight when it comes to hitboxes, that's all. Inkling's hitbox goes along the Splattershot, but Inkling's hurtbox and position are a bit above it. The game checks where Inkling's position is when determining when to cancel the down aerial, and since they hadn't collided with the stage yet, even though the Splattershot clips through the stage, the animation continues and the hitbox is still active. Meanwhile, even though the stage's collision prevents Link's body from going through it, he still has hitboxes on his head and arms, which are allowed some leeway to clip through the stage for smoother gameplay. However, because of this, he is in range of Inkling's hitbox despite the stage being between them. So he gets hit. It's character dependent, so these situations are the players taking advantage of some hitboxes reaching farther than one would think they should.
