If you only put him in top 10, personally I think you're underrating him. I easily put him in top five. In my personal preference excluding EVH who is the king, I put Reb Beach in the same league with Nuno Bettencourt and the leagues of masterful axe masters from that generation cluster in a cascading from there, Yngwie, Jake, Vai, Gilbert, etc...
This would be a good example of what a lead guitar is supposed to bring to a song. Something almost tangible, definitely something that will stay with you after you hear it. What the guitar player comes up with is what makes them amazing. Reb Beach is an amazing guitar player that still plays with passion. This song is a good show case of his ability to go from an easy tempo to a blistering tempo and back again all the while keeping the listener hooked. Have always loved this song because of his playing.
I would put Reb in my top 3 guitarists. I think his combination of technical skill, combined with his musicality, is only rivaled by the likes of David Gilmour. I think Randy Rhoads would round out my top three. It is sad he was taken from us so soon. I would have liked to have gotten to hear him in songs he had written or with more creative freedom, in whatever band he was with. Had Randy had that freedom, he may have proved to out duel either of my top two choices. When I kick around the idea for building a band I would want, with any musicians alltime, I tend to lean towards Randy. I swoon over the idea of hearing him and Cliff Burton in the same band together. Another underrated guitarist in my opinion is David Flett.
I would absolutely put a young Reb Beach up against any rock guitarist in history. As a young gunslinger he has speed, beautiful fluid technique, plays with soul and has created some of the most memorable riffs in music, and killer stage moves (back then). He's just a monstrous player, esp when young. He's as good as anyone....absolutely.
@@christopherparsons3224 David Gilmour had many original ideas with chords and soloing but he was no where near the skill level of Reb. I mean Reb does "liquid tapping" that no one on the planet has copied sound-wise.
Lmao. So used to playing on stage that song love that he instinctively goes to the mic to sing backing vocals on the first chorus. Then realized ot was a backing track he was playing to. Lmao. Reb is freaking awesome
Reb is The Man. There's no two ways about it. It's great to see he still gets off on his own material years later, and I must say the likes of Reb Beach and Doug Aldrich are like a fine wine with their guitars. Phenomenal.
I listened to all hair bands back in the 80s and there was something about winger that impressed me....all of them were serious players.reb is amazing and kip winger is very underrated
All I can say is he was a beast to be reckoned with them, and he's an animal you should be afraid of now. Technic, with passion and feeling. 1 of a kind. Pound for pound this man can share a stage with anyone and perform like a god, and humble as fk. Thank you Reb for sharing your ability with the world. #3 on my list behind #1 Zakk (The Viking) Wylde and #2 Saint Dime bag Darrell (whom will forever be missed).
I amazed that he can play it that well!! I know some of these guys and after awhile they have to go back and re-learn their own leads themselves... Reb Beach and Doug Aldrich are both incredible...
Reb rocked in the 80s and is still a beast on guitar. For those that gave him a thumbs down here must be quite jealous and couldn’t even compete with him.
The first time I heard this lead, it caught me by surprise and conjured up every joy and sadness I had ever known pouring up and out of me... I couldn't move, I just sat there crying... and oh my God I felt so much better afterwards. This is the power of a real musician.
Was a junior in high school when this album came out. Loved the late 80's so much. This album was so fantastic, every song. I always wanted Kip's teeth.
Winger is so criminally underrated, mostly because they got labeled as cheesy, when they were all master of their craft musically. Reb, Aldrich, and Kip especially are some of the best musicians of their era. Since I didn't grow up in that era(born in 1999) I get to just listen to the music without all of the biases, and Winger really stuck out as something special. Sad to see it all ended so soon though, but it will come back one day!
Doug Aldrich was never in Winger... He started out in the mid 80's in a band called Lion, then went on to play in House of Lords, Dio, and Whitesnake as well...
Winger is one of my favorite hair metal bands, and this is one of my favorite solos. I grew up on them. I was always jealous that I couldn't play as well as Reb Beach. He is awesome. My favorite part is at 3:55.
Man ! I saw these guys so long ago. They opened for VanHalen at Mississippi Gulf Coast Coliseum. They were magical on this song. And here he is playing the song note for note just like that nite. Just as awesome as it gets here! For me a guitarist this is a real treat to see this video! Thanks!
Holy shit.....I am just freaking out because of this...I am mad , mad , mad about a lead guitarist...lol...no just growing up with close friends in bands have taught me the true appreciation of musicans ....great job....
How can the drummer not know that song? Wtf? I can play it in my sleep. Winger were so under- rated. I have always thought they rocked! Kip n Reb the very best!!!
Reb is so talented. I grew up listening to all the hair bands. I always thought Winger was the best just because of Kip and Reb and his style of playing.
Anyone know his set up in this video. Guitar sounds so good ( I know it’s mostly him) however the tone, sustain so good. Such an amazing player! Tapping genius love it.
Few play with as much finesse or feel as Reb....too bad that Winger became one of the poster-bands for "cheesy metal" of the time. The sheer amount of talent between Reb,Kip, and Rod was definitely not the status quo back then. All of them are very underrated players.
The record labels pushed them to do the cheesy hair metal image like all of the other bands at the time. It's almost as if they were penalized for doing it well. Even so, their music was another level of awesome. You could tell they were deeper and more talented than most of the party bands of the 80's. This song is a good example of that.
At least a half of the greatness of this song is Reb's soloing.
Reb Beach, top 10 guitarists of all time. So god damn good and underrated. Even he himself doesn't believe he's that good.
If you only put him in top 10, personally I think you're underrating him. I easily put him in top five. Eh top 10 nooo!
Top 100 yes.
Hair band guy who kept his long hair till now.. Genuine dude
Would it kill him to wash it?

Reb kicks ass!! That solo is so rich with emotion and feeling it hurts so good!! I feel the pain in those solos. Just genius!

How cool is it that Reb obviously gets off on playing this solo, years after he first laid it down. I still get shivers up my spine.
It's a great example of a solo written for a song... Screw all the shredding... Melodies make memories...
Underrated guitarist... fantastic player......

I never heard anything about Reb being underrated...

My people! Reb is my fave. I play jazz and classical, sax and flute. Guitar is a hobby for me. Reb is one of the best musicians I have ever heard.
Reb Beach is such a phenomenal talent... playing both technical virtuoso and soulful at the same time. Just incredible.

yes kip winger on vocals-------this stuff blew me away in the 80s----they should have been huge

One of the few solos that legit sounds like crying to me.
Miles away is another great solo
Reb is incredible. He deserves way more recognition as one of the best guitarist ever.
The master at work is always a pleasure to watch.
Mother of God...... what a ripper of a solo

One of the greats no doubt, incredible tapping, wonderful time, beautiful player!

Reb Beach is one of the best guitarists in my opinion, and this solo in this song is perfect, it's pure feeling in every note. 🤘🏻♥🤘🏻🇧🇷🇧🇷
Incredible solo at the end. Most underrated guitar player from the late 80's...
You're an uniformed imbecile.
Reb from my hometown
Reb gives a lesson of musical efficiency here. Simplicity and SMARTNESS.
He still has it. Legendary.

Love this song. Actually, this song is ridiculously well designed. so much different from usual heavy metal songs.
Such a tasteful and melodic player. Totally under appreciated musician and band.

The solo at the end of this has wowed me since I heard it upon getting this tape in 1989
Reb has rad energy!! A normal cool dude!

Hello lovely fan
Superb playing. To enhance the song never to take over it.
Great player and great guy. I took guitar lessons from Reb.
Tremendo Reb! Un genio de las 6 cuerdas... esta es sin duda la mejor canción de Winger, extraordinaria, conmovedora.
Reb proves the importance of TONE!
Phenom by any musicians standards.
So amazing!

one of the most beautiful outro solos
I love Reb, so underated
I love your music your both awesome legends ❤🎸😎😍🤘
I have to say that "Seventeen" is still my favorite!! He is an amazing player.
Boy, can still make it scream 🎸🎸
Nice!
good performance
I'm a straight up metal head but this guitar just sings beauty!!..I wish I had half his talent
One of my favorites along with Eddie
it feels good hearing this song for the first time within 6-8 years
Awesome guitar work. Classic lick !
What a beast ... !!!
Reb definitely a top 3 guitarist .
From a technical standpoint, Reb is #1. His dizzyingly fast runs and 2 handed tapping leave other pro guitarists in the dust. No one better.
Serving the song......
excellent, no body can come close

Not much to say other than incredible, had the privilege to see this man with WhiteSnake and Doug crazy good. Winger 4 times Midwest and Arizona.
i graduated '89 ... this album was fukking amazing
Amazing
This whole thing is 100% sacred, but the whammy and volume swells at the end.... Reb is a master IMO
there are only a very guitarists this good, really, that is a lot of "feel" not just speed and randomness
