    Loved the video! Sadly I don't have a lot of knitworthy people around me. I guess I have to knit for myself🤷

      I am running out of family and friends, so I knit for charity. Check with your local hospital for needs for newborn hats, mittens. Also, I’ve given hats to the local Salvation Army or check for local Veterans organizations.

    I just came across your channel as I’m getting back into knitting - albeit a little too late to make much for this Christmas. But I just have to tell you that I think you’re very very pretty !

    Thank you for putting so much work into your list of gift knits. Many were new to me and nice free patterns are a bonus too. I jumped on the Sophie scarf bandwagon and I’m hoping it will suit me. Your Mom will be thrilled with her gifts. I’m partial to that colour too.

    I love toe up socks! Once you get some experience with different heel construction methods it is easy to translate cuff down patterns to toe up patterns. Also I just want to say your English is fantastic! I studied French for 10 years at school and I can barely say anything lol.

      I'm currently finishing my first ever pair of socks. I was a little "afraid" of them for quite some time haha! But i found out I really like sock knitting after all. Can't wait until I have a sufficiently good understanding of sock construction to be able to do that! And thank you so much 💕

    Hi Claire! So excited to hear that you are enjoying the experience of knitting the Sophie Shawl, as I've been going back and forth on whether to knit it or not 🤪. How many hours cumulatively do you think the entire project took you if you were to guess? Thank you!!
    P.S. I vote for "yes" on the scrunchies tutorial! Ever since seeing it for the first time on your previous podcast episode, I have not stopped thinking about it!!! What a genius idea for a gift, as it must be so quick, and more importantly, so useful!

      Hey 🌸 wow that's a difficult question.. I'm making the biggest size and using yarn that is slightly too thin to get gage so I knit a little more than what the pattern indicated, to get the right measurements. In my opinion, it's quite a long project in that size. I'm not good at guessing a number of hours but I think I could have finished it if I only knitted that in my free time in about a week. It's quite mindless and addictive but definitely not a "quick project" per say. In a smaller size and if you get gauge, it will definitely be quicker.
      Noted, for the tutorial ☺️ thank you for your comment 💜

    Great video! I was surprised to randomly find a knitter from Romandie ! I only started knitting a few months ago, do you have suggestions as to where to buy or order yarn from Switzerland? Thanks :)

    • @SeptemberMakes
      @SeptemberMakes  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      We're out there 😊 generally I don't really order from Switzerland. I order mostly from Germany (Algawo or MondoLana for Drops) and in whatever country the brand I'm ordering ships from. I try to not exceed 65chf so that I don't pay super expensive customs fees 🌻

    I really loved your trip around Europe. The price of yarns was so cheap in Norway compared to gere in Australia. Is your TH-cam channel part of your uni course in psychology? If you ever come to Sydney Australia we could have coffee at the beach. I'm a new subscriber Barbara Radzevicius Bondi Crafter.

      I must say that I didn't buy the more expensive kinds of yarns. I very much shopped in sales sections and prioritised budget options 😊. My channel has absolutely nothing to do with my studies although I like to think about knitting through the lense of mental health. Thank you for your support Barbara 🌸

    Bonsoir Claire! I have just settled down on my couch looking forward to an evening of knitting, after a lot of maths to re-gauge a pattern, I cast on my next gift knit (un gilet pur mon père 😅 first time cables and pockets, with a totally different gauge, fingers crossed it comes out well) What a lovely video with many ideas, merci! I will be - hopefully - knitting 2 hats as Xmas gifts, and was thinking about the purl soho one but I still don't know if I will knit the version with a 1x1 rib or 2x2. By the way purl soho does have some paid for patterns as well 🤗 I have never knitted socks yet and not sure I will have enough time to attempt them now...the water bottle is a great idea, but....doesn't the wool felt with the heat from the water bottle? and which of the three drops was the one you liked most? as for alternatives to the sophie shawl there are some very simple wraps on purl soho that are free, some in garter and some in other basic stitches, I started the half&half not too long ago, but that will be a long term, on the side knit....all the best 💚💚💚🧶🧶🧶

    • @SeptemberMakes
      @SeptemberMakes  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you for the heads up and the ideas! In my experience with the water bottle, it's not really a problem. It wouldn't impact the size in case it felted, but it doesn't seem to felt for now. In general, I'm a big fan of the Lima kind but all three were great and it was a lot of fun to be able to pick colours in such a wide range. I'm currently knitting the "school of socks" pattern by Summer Lee as my first real (and hopefully soon to be finished) socks and I'm very impressed about how quickly they knit up, even with 2.25mm needles and how easy they are 💜
