We redid our daughter’s room as well. 6th grade parents as well. It’s so bittersweet. Taking down all the Mickey Mouse and doing an “aesthetic room”, like she asked ( I had to look it up). Time flies by so fast😭
Lime green and bright blue walls with an orange duvet that had multi colored daisies on it haha. My 12-18 yr old self LOVED that room. Now being an adult I could never sleep in a room so crazy bright haha. 🤣🤪
On my phone screen that blue looks pretty much like colonial blue, which is a lovely color. You’re such a good mom to do this for her. I hope she liked it. And appreciated all the work you put into it.
I was born in 1985, and my "tween" room had white painted walls, but I put everything else in lime green, so bedding, I had the beaded curtains, lava lamp, and matching VTech cordless phone for my personal landline! 😂😂 it was sick.
My middle school room was dark red with black trim and I had bedding with bats on, and I loved it. All my friends were super jealous because their mums only let them have neutral colors in their bedrooms and my mum let me pick everything for my room myself. 😄
When did it go out of style for your kids to do their own decorating? My mom never touched my room once I was around 7th grade. This is a precious bedroom. ❤
HI Great job but the four frames above the bed don't look right especially with the built in door on the wall competing with them. I would recommend using one picture behind the bedside lamp that would balance the wall.
My middleschool room decor was "i have 2 sisters and we share the master bedroom but they refuse to help clean our shared bathroom" 😅 My mom bought us some pretty cool loft style and captain beds though so it was only a problem when they stole all my favorite clothes! ❤ Your kiddos are so lucky to have you! And even if you dont know what color that would be, the room still looks absolutely stunning! 🎉
I shared room with my grandma. Two bottom drawers of dresser served as storage for Barbie dolls and they were turned into fancy bedrooms. Prior to this arrangement I shared room with my brother. So technically I never had my own room. However when I did grow up I had an entire apartment for myself and was not in rush to get family.
Thank you! I thought it was just me who thought this. It honestly looks really nice for an adult! It's not recognizable as a kid/middle schooler's room though.. Unless the kid just happens to have really grown up tastes. Which, if they do, then happy for them as long as it was what they wanted. But doesn't it seem kind of depressing for a kid? Where are the bright colors? Fun lights and lamps, or various posters of their favorite things? or miscellaneous knick knacks? Like figurines, plushies, Or Arts and crafts.. But nothing? There's absolutely nothing fun looking in there besides the somewhat drab rainbow pillow. 😶 That looks more like a guest room, or even a hotel room.😬 I would have cried as a kid if that's what my room turned into. I would have said.. Mom? Are you taking my room??😢 Maybe the younger generations are just maturing faster? idk. But that's sad to think about too.
Great redo! My sister (3 1/2 years younger than me) shared a rather large bedroom until I got married. The paint color changed once, and our beds and dressers were moved around every once in a blue moon. No posters or kid/teen stuff on the walls. We were completely different personalities and back in the 60s, we didn't have much reason to spend time in our bedroom except to sleep. Middle school bedroom theme? Never occurred to us..LOL.
My room was pink. Wallpaper was barbie pink with multicolor cartoony flowers all over it. I had pink bedding and a fushia chair, rest of the furniture was white so I guess it balanced out the crazy wallpaper lol. Alos my walls got quickly covered with posters of Lord of the Rings and Harry potter, so yeah not really light and relaxing but I loooved it so much!!
Oh girl as soon as you said, I do not feel old enough having a kid going into middle school… I’m 31 with a kid who is in high school!! I feel like everything that comes out of your mouth is just so relatable!! I love it. I had my son at 17… Met my husband at 19 got married at 23 and then had identical twin girls at 29 … also watching your videos and seeing your little baby boy kinda melts my heart a little bit, especially in the midst of the threenager stage x2!! But it’s actually more like X 10,000 … Having two kids the same age is not double everything it’s more like quadruple 😂 and it makes me miss the little baby stages
It’s hard to believe that you have a I am a Gen Z if you’re born between 1992 and 2010 year generation Z I am a Gen Z so are my cousins Kaden Kyla and Colton, all of my maternal grandma‘s grandkids are all generation Z my mom has a kid that’s almost in college me I am 18 and about to go to college. I’ll actually start college when I’m 19 when I’m 22 I graduate and I’m going to be an aunt through friendship for the first time really soon in less than a month
Lmfao girl! Mine was also Hot Pink and Black. I went full out bedding pillows (hot pink, black, and leopard print) and the entire accent wall was also hot pink. I also had black beaded curtains 😂 glad its not just me
I didn’t have a theme because I didn’t have a room to myself and we were crazy poor but if I could have had one, this is what I would have wanted!! Being a mom of 2 little boys, their room is all paw patrol and Ryan’s world. I hope to have a girl someday so I can help her decorate how she wants!
Middle school room was a mix of JTT, alien, and rock band posters. Walls were a bright turquoise. Bedding was a crazy quilt that my grandma made (I loved it because it was so heavy, I now realize I liked weighed blankets before they were a thing). I also had a ton of wolf and dragon ornaments/statues on every surface. Let's not forget the boombox/CD player on my desk that every teen had in the 90's.
My kiddle school room was shared with my sister and brother and we lived in a trailer without decor..... So like I dunno maybe the theme was prebubescent poverty?
I was in middle school in 2002-2005, and I did not have a "theme." 😂😂😂 I had posters of Britney Spears and The Backstreet Boys on my wall. Plus, I shared with my sister, so I only had a "side." Not a whole room.
Mine was rubber duck themed with baby blue colored walls with hand painted clouds on the ceiling 😂 And of course, random boy bands, punk bands, Brittany, Christina,Tupac, etc. posters all over! I still love yellow Rubber Ducks, lol. I passed my love onto my amazing daughter ❤ This room is so lovely! I love the esthetic. Same style we enjoy. We'll be upgrading my daughters this summer before she starts kindergarten😊 No more twin bed. She'll be getting her first full sized bed🥹
Mine was also pink and black. But a pastel-ish pink. Black furniture, pink walls, and pink accents. No beaded curtains, though. While I'm here, I'm going to add to a previous video. I also love green and I liked your bathroom. I did Behr's Thai basil for my kitchen with black cabinet pulls and hinges. Just acting my age over here.
New Kids On The Block and 80's colors Not relaxing I love what you've done. Gosh, I wish I had an eye for design. Looks like a medium denim color but it is better!
Goodness this is a sanctuary compared to my middle school room in the early 2000s. My room was white walls with a blue similar to this over it with texture rollers, I did it at 13 so I’m sure it was real bad. It didn’t really matter because in middle school it was completely covered in *NSYNC, Britney, 98° posters. My sisters room was gold with a black white and gold tiger print boarder (school mascot was a tiger. She was a cheerleader) her’s was covered in Backstreet Boys posters. We bought every single teen magazine and just plastered our walls with it. We both had beaded curtains in our door ways including the closets.I had that typical 3 piece radio where the speakers weren’t attached, it had a tape player and 3 CD changer, the basic one that everyone had. Black lights, strobe lights, rainbow party lights. Eventually I would start making watercolor paintings all over my walls and turn it into a trippy painting room. Looking back I’m glad my mom gave me autonomy however it was complete chaos.
Omg My room was a dark navy blue and hot pink trim that looked red. My mom surprised me and painted it without my knowledge. I didn't want to hurt her feelings. My bedding was navy blue with pink flowers. 🤦🏼♀️
i’m gen z and went to middle school in 2016… it was hot pink and black as well with teen beat and pop tiger posters EVERYWHERE and my side part was ALL the way on the side. my room now doesn’t even look like this i’m still holding onto that “teen fangirl” phase as much as i can😭
My middle school room was bright green with the Britney Spears inflatable furniture set table don't judge me LOL my high school room was Tennessee volunteer with the whole Tennessee volunteer setup
My bed room Was a living room Split in half with a huge curtain rod that was.verry thick I had half brother haf half he was + 4 older Ummm I never had a cute bedroom This is very pretty :D
I pucked out a gold and black swirly comforter and off that decided to paint my walls beige and then sponge paint over with a gold color... 😅🤦♀️It was the one and only time my parents ever bought me stuff to decorate.
Unfortunately, I moved around a lot during middle and high school, so I never really had a permanent theme. But I always had like, christmas lights and drawings on the walls, knick knacks, sometimes CDs or records hung, a few band posters from Spencers lol
Mine was lime green walls, gold flaking metal daybed that was passed down from who knows, and a lime green, aqua, and blue circles comforter, with rainbow beads in both my doorway and closet. Oh and dolphin ceiling fan pulls 😏💚🩵💙
My middle school room was a mint colour that had a fish wallpaper border along the ceiling. Definitely not as beautiful as your daughters' room. Brilliant job.
It was magazine clippings themed 😂 with light pink wall paint the clippings were of the backstreet boys and Brittany Spears and a blink 182 poster ✨ dont judge me ✨ but i had a crapton of harry potter figurines before the movies came out 🙈
Tropical. Living in the midwest. 😂 2 teal, 1 orange 1 lime wall. My mom has always been flawless in decor so my terra cotta walls with brown accents was beautiful at her house. I think both rooms suited both households. 😅
Have you ever thought of painting that access door the same color as the walls? If you try it and don’t like it, you could always paint it white again.
Cute! My daughter would also love this room you did a great job ❤ and yeah I’m right there with ya on the whole “how do I have a middle schooler” 😭 I was just on the couch watching Lizzie McGuire talking on the land line 😂
My room was baby blue with silver accents. Blue walls, blue sheets, blue comforter, silver pillow, silver lamp, and a silver mirror. It was terrible. I'm still shocked my mom allowed me to basically vomit blue all over my room. 😭
My theme was “my parents are poor so I’ll put the posters I got from this magazine I bought with my scraped up chore money on the wall to hide the dingy, yellow, smoke stained walls.” 😊
My walls were lime green green-screen color every other wall with a bright clorox blue and zebra and pink accents? Like I had 2 themes going for whatever reason.
Mine was the same color scheme as this. But I had woodland fairy theam fairy statues/posters, mushrooms, deer, squirrels, and of course fairy lights and glow in the dark stars on the ceiling. Kept it the same theme until after the second year of college
My room was blue with pink trim because my sis and I shared a room, and she wanted blue and I wanted pink so Mom made us compromise on that. We both hated it but had to live with it 😂 My cousin had a lime green room with a hot pink and black tiger stripe accent wall. We were all so classy back then.lol
Im not allowed to change my room because we move too much. Ive had the same furniture since i was a kid, the same toys, and i've never had a desk. Im jealous right now.
I never had a themed room. I shared a room with my sister, until we finally got a bigger home with our own rooms. But surprise my partner moved in with me, so I never had a room for myself. 😅
My millennial middle school room was purple on top, green on bottom, with a cheetah and palm tree wall paper about eight inches tall separating the two colors 😂 with purple and pink beads hanging on my door. Her room is so beautiful and relaxing! Love the blue shade you made.
We redid our daughter’s room as well. 6th grade parents as well. It’s so bittersweet. Taking down all the Mickey Mouse and doing an “aesthetic room”, like she asked ( I had to look it up). Time flies by so fast😭
Your daughter got to choose her bedroom design. NICE!
This room is pretty ! That blue colour is gorgeous 😍😍😍 can totally grow with her too
My middle school room was an ocean theme, mostly with those dolphin statues that almost everyone had 🩵😂
Beautiful!! You amaze me, painting over carpet. I dont see a dropcloth. I would make a mess! Lol😅 great job.
Finally a mother who understands her daughter
Lime green and bright blue walls with an orange duvet that had multi colored daisies on it haha. My 12-18 yr old self LOVED that room. Now being an adult I could never sleep in a room so crazy bright haha. 🤣🤪

Yellow and white with holly hobby curtains and sheets.

i added zebra trim around the middle of my sky blue walls in 2005 when i went into middle school lol
My middle school room was dark red with black trim and I had bedding with bats on, and I loved it. All my friends were super jealous because their mums only let them have neutral colors in their bedrooms and my mum let me pick everything for my room myself. 😄
Mine was emo band posters covering the walls!!
My middle school room was rainbow brite and Care Bears 😂❤
When did it go out of style for your kids to do their own decorating? My mom never touched my room once I was around 7th grade. This is a precious bedroom. ❤
she picked it all out, I just made it happen lol
HI Great job but the four frames above the bed don't look right especially with the built in door on the wall competing with them. I would recommend using one picture behind the bedside lamp that would balance

Very nice, There was no theme for me.....lol
I dont think it had a theme 😂 just random stuff from all my life mixed in with pictures and glow in the dark stars 😂
Like it, but if you actually want her to do her homework, she‘ll need another or a bigger desk. No way in hell she will be able to do homework there!😅
she doesn't have homework very often at her school
The whole time I kept staring at the small door wondering where it leads
no where fun.

So boring. It feels like a corporate rental, not a kid's room. No personality. No life.
Thank you! I thought it was just me who thought this.

Maybe… consider that my child picked it out
Or maybe consider that this is what she wanted & likes. 🤷♀️ not everyone is you. Thank god
@@KileeRainbow how do you have subs? You're awful.

Spongebob EVERYTHING and zac effron posters all over the walls
My middle school era consisted of Justin Bieber and Mindless Behavior 😂
