Tips for people out there: the drift button acts as a jump and you can use ramps and little bumps to get a free boost. ALSO, collect the wumpa fruit. You’ll see the game feel a little easier through that.

Trev you can use the power ups backwards, you can hold down on the d pad and toss the middle to the ppl behind you, and there are shortcuts on almost every map!
Use your power ups like the 3x missles right off if 2 people ahead of you!! I was yelling the whole time! That way each "?" Box gives you another power up
The trick to this game is in mastering the power slides. You want to be power sliding constantly to get the boosts. Do that, and you'll win most races on the default difficulty (medium) without much problem, though some of the other challenges might still take a few attempts. Easy difficulty is meant for beginners. Hard difficulty is meant to be a serious challenge for even the pros.

The game ai needs to be fixed. After you stop or shoot a character. They recover way too quickly. The part at pirates cove when you shot the racer with three rockets and still beat you. 🤷♂️

I see a lot of “get good.. crash is hard” comments, from those pointing these flaws out- but there are some valid aspects that I see that need to be fixed. Beat the original game fairly easy. Looking forward to this one.
Actually, there was something he could have done. If he hit the second boost pad, he may have just clutched it. Also, a tip from me as a CNK player, I respect the fact that he went out of his way to find tips. But for powersliding, he needs to do it almost all of the time, not just on corners. There is even a tip that says this at the start.

If you're not going to drift boost, you're going to get murdered by the AI en masse. Twas the case with the original, and it hasn't changed. Chain drift boosting around the track is difficult, but so satisfying when you get it right.
Stick at it Trev. This game can be frustrating but it does reward you as you get better and it feels soooo good when you finally nail down the drift mechanic

This game was heavily influenced from Diddy Kong Racing to the point where Crash Cove the first level of CTR was based on the first level of Diddy Kong Racing

The power side boost is you have to look at the tires. When they reach the middle of the two tires that’s when you get the boost. I’m pretty sure don’t quote me tho maybe it helps.
Us who loved many hours with the original have an advantage on this remake (not remaster) Beenox did an amazing job. Better than Mario Kart ...without question.
