      He certainly fulfills it, and is our ultimate rest, but he is also our righteousness so do we jettison all the law? Not keeping the sabbath in the OC was punishable by death- my question would be: did God change His mind?

      William Tyndale wasnt exactly burned at the stake. He had a stroke while conducting Mass in the parish church on 28 December 1384. He died a few days later. In 1415 The Catholic Church declared him a heretic and in 1428 his corps was exhumed, burned and ashes thrown in the River Swift. (Seems They really did not like him)

    • @PreacherJimC
      @PreacherJimC หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yes, In 1571, John Knox had a massive stroke and his health became a major concern for his fellow Protestant leaders. They decided it was best to take him away from the conflict in Scotland's capital, Edinburgh, and they sent him to St. Andrews. November 24, 1572

    All Reformed people need to read Romans 11 substituting "The Church" for the word "Israel" and for the pronouns that refer back to Israel in Chapter 11. Read it out loud and see if you are making any sense. I have been challenging Reformed/Calvinists to do this for two months and have no takers so far.

    • @ReformedRookie
      @ReformedRookie  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      when you understand who the "children of the promise" are, it will make complete sense.
      And you have national Israel/according to the flesh, and the Israel of God according to the Spirit.

    • @granthodges3012
      @granthodges3012 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@ReformedRookie Umm, it's not like I haven't heard that phrase before (c.f., "children of the promise"), or I do not know what it means. Try this on for size: Romans 11: 11 "I say then, [the children of the promise] did not stumble so as to fall, did they? Far from it! But by the wrongdoing [of the children of the promise] salvation has come to the Gentiles, to make them jealous." You can work it the other way: "I say then, [unsaved] did not stumble so as to fall, did they? Far from it! But by the unsaved's wrongdoing salvation has come to the Gentiles, to make them jealous." You see, you can't point at the nation of Israel that Paul the Apostle spotlights at the start of the chapter (vv 1-2) and say, "Look, they are broken off"; then at the end of the chapter (v 26) say that Paul meant the Church or the "children of the promise/not Israel" when you get to the end of the chapter. It doesn't make any sense. The saved are never broken off. Only the Jews. And so . . . "All Israel will be saved"; God does work in different ways at different times (but always by faith); The Jews have a part to play at the end of history. Oh, and Reformed theology is in a shambles.

    There are no Apostolic sign gifts . Those are gifts to the church as we see the laity practicing the gifts . No Apostolic Gifts and no Apostolic succession . Why do you believe the 5 fold ministry is not for today ? Many millions of us are Spirit Filled and move in the supernatural gifts to the church .

The thing I find error in most is that the 9 spiritual gifts are church gifts and never taught as Apostolic gifts because Paul talks about the churches use and misuse of spiritual gifts and in the Acts of the Apostles we see the 120 exercising those gifts on the day of Pentecost . Also wesee that the 5 fold ministry is for today but the abuses and counterfeiting of the offices is widespread in many Charismatic circles .

    What about when parts of this contradict other parts?

    Pastor, I’m confused you say you don’t see purgatory, and the assumption of Mary, and accuse Catholics of worshiping Mary. Etc. But where do you see any of the solas in the scriptures? rather don’t you see scripture that explicitly teaches the exact opposite?
    Why are you worried about what the scriptures say implicitly if you don’t even believe what they say explicitly?

    • @ReformedRookie
      @ReformedRookie  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      please cite the explicit passage that says Mary was bodily assumed into heaven and purgatory exists.
      "Worse, the council of Trent pronounces an anathema on any who don't believe in her assumption, and by doing so, adds to the gospel of Jesus Christ.
      I refer you to the prayer by Alphonsus Liguori that says:
      Most holy Virgin Immaculate, my Mother Mary, to thee who art the Mother of my Lord, the Queen of the universe, the advocate, the hope, the refuge of sinners, I who am the most miserable of all sinners, have recourse this day. I worship thee, great Queen, and I thank thee for the many graces thou hast bestowed upon me even unto this day; in particular for having delivered me from the hell which I have so often deserved by my sins. I love thee, most dear Lady, and for the love I bear thee, I promise to serve thee willingly forever and to do what I can to make thee loved by others also. I place in thee all my hopes for salvation; accept me as thy servant and shelter me under thy mantle, thou who art the Mother of mercy. And since thou art so powerful with God, deliver me from all temptations, or at least get me the strength to overcome them until death. From thee I implore a true love for Jesus Christ. Through thee I hope to die a holy death. My dear Mother, by the love thou bearest to Almighty God. I pray thee to assist me always, but most of all at the last moment of my life. Forsake me not then, until thou shalt see me safe in Heaven, there to bless thee and sing of thy mercies through all eternity. Such is my hope. Amen.
      With all. due respect, NO Christian can recite that prayer...

      @@ReformedRookie I don’t think you understood my question. I asked you why are you concerned about scriptures implicit teachings, yet you seem unconcerned with scriptures explicit teachings against the solas you preach. Examples James 2:24 against faith alone, 2 Thessalonians 2:15 against scripture alone?

    • @charliego7375
      @charliego7375 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ReformedRookie the prayer doesn’t say I worship thee. It says venerate thee.
      You claim to follow the commandments isn’t there a commandments that condemns false witness? Come on pastor set a better example and stop misrepresenting the Catholic position.
      I think you just lost any credibility you may of had.

    • @ReformedRookie
      @ReformedRookie  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@charliego7375 I don't think you've met the burden of proof and shown me an explicit scripture that proves Mary was bodily assumed into heaven. You know that you can't.
      You should watch my series on the 5 Solas and see that they are all rooted and grounded in the scriptures, and not in the vain imaginations of man.
      I also have the book by Liguori that uses the word worship- I'm staring at it right now, I'm also sure your RCC websites have scrubbed that out.
      I'm not concerned about your thoughts of me- I answer to the Lord for my beliefs which are supported by the scriptures- you're not my judge, nor is your Pope, Cardinals, or bishops who have been misleading people for centuries- may Lord have mercy on their souls.

    Both fall under the false heresies of Anglicanism and Calvinism. Note how John Calvin added thousands of pages to the bible, anti chrisr centered and there is no "church" in this theology, merely denominations. Thus channel would be in violation of the 3rd commandment if he dared speak for God. Of course they shall all fall to the counter arguements of judaism 😊
