- The second round from the 2000 British Touring Car Championship from Brands Hatch in Kent. This race was shown live on BBC. This part of the race does have an interruption due to a tape ending
Thanks for uploading these videos. It seems TH-cam applied its 'anti shake' filter, making it feel a bit drunk (I don't think its me just yet).. :-) I don't know if this is a video setting in your youtube studio menu but if it is, perhaps its better to turn off?

Miss the super tourer era. The year 2000 spelled the end of proper btcc. The cars are so slow in compassion nowadays.
I don't know if it's just because I used to play TOCA 1 and 2, but, I love the Super Tourers. Love that the cars actually moved as well, while they pretty much drive on rails these days. Rather a matter of improved chassis and tyres, of course.
@@chakko007 It really is a shame that the Super Tourers got too expensive, I wish they didn't. A few more years of Super Touring could've given us much more entertainment.

Alan Gow getting rear ended in the Jaguar safety car. That must have triggered some interesting language. Alan's not someone who's afraid to make his feelings known, which is why the BTCC people refer to having to go and see him over a race weekend as having to go and see the headmaster. If you've done something to attract his ire then it's a very uncomfortable meeting...

De Apenhoofd not really I think it was just the profile of dingle dell back then with the dip and the sharp kerb, cars got airborne and landed heavily. It’s obviously been reprofiled since then and isn’t as spectacular. With the power and aero of the supertourers I’d have had tyre warmers at this circuit just for that corner
It's amazing how easy it is to forget how terrible the commentary was back then compared to 2021.
It was little more than reading a timing screen and mentioning car colours. No actual commentary with insights. I guess that's the result of a failed btcc/bike racer and failed F1 driver.
