Dry catfood. It releases fishy oils nice and slow. Give it a go mate.

Jason from Australian Biotopes just put out a great video about how to trap and transport fish, you shoild check it out. Regarding the question you get aboit bait in the pouch vs in the trap, the pouch mostly prevents the fish from eating the bait, which is important if transporting the fish over greater distances (you dont what them crapping too much in the bag), doesnt matter if transporting short distance I guess. Just thought I'd mention that as I know you've been asked about that before.

Yeah, I’m going to try smash it out this time and have a bigger backlog of videos come next winter so I’ll have content I was unprepared last season lol didn’t expect the channel to gain so much traction
@@Dundeel. how ya going Allen again a little tip for your traps put them under the weeds and grassy banks get much better fish those little traps you use are great for the small fish but at day the bei fish like to hide under things .. I used to feed my bigger fish red claw lots around Petre dam and the small creeks inbetween samford and Dayboro plus at the bottom of the Petre dam wall good rainbows and some very nice Australian native guppies very rare very pritty male's are small female looks like a gamboozea so be careful what you through back up there
If you go back to the Kedron Brook again go to the part of the river next to Shaw park football field on the Toombul side of the bridge you will get full grown Empire gudgeon, sordtail , Molly, large bullrout , tilapia , potty mullet , and other stuff and set your traps under the grassy bank and under the plants you will have better success I done the same as you 20 years ago the aquariums used to buy natives from me back then good luck catching there are some good spots around Brisbane

In all my times trapping and netting I am yet to get a stone fish but am super keen. What would you suggest as being the best way to catch one? (without hooking)
Sorry for the late reply when you go to the Kedron Brook get or make a big net mine is a metre wide with shade cloth hand sewing onto a metal frame scoop under the grass mat's that grow into the river and lift the net up and shake it the bullrouts are good at hanging on in the grass you will catch small turtles eals and other amazing things my favourite catches where the large red empire gudgeon put a few big ones in a tank and they just glow red amazing fish

If that is a convict that could be very bad news. Breed like savages, and are aggressive feeders. Keep an eye on that area for sure. Good luck.
Apple snails in the area tilapia and now potentially this.. see what happens when I bring the trap in tomorrow hopefully nothing else
@@Dundeel. I'm in Sydney, and am going to start looking around waterways and see what I can turn up in the invasive species category. Not expecting anything interesting, but I'm not convinced that swordtails aren't around knowing how hardy they can be. Cheers!
I could imagine that you have problems with invasive species, cause people for some reason release their fish from a tank they don’t want anymore, in Australia. Much like they have in Florida, USA. We don’t really have those problems here in Northern Europe or Scandinavia. Fish wouldn’t survive in the cold weather
Yeah they definitely get dumped all through out Australia but really only survive in the northern parts where I live and above
