You people have to understand that Ron is 1st and foremost a hell of a A CEO and salesman... You don't have to polish a purple hammer thats the reason its a pearl... But as you may notice Ron is advertising his products as he moves along... like the sanding pads... and the conditioner And don't forget about the Tru Cut Polish!!
You state at the beginning that the Purple Hammer is "true, pure urethane" however I thought that the PH was a pearl urethane. Would that not mean the urethane coverstock has pearl additive within in, therefore making it not "pure urethane"?
@@strangeunidude if you look when it was USA made they had the numbers on the top of the ball . While the new purple pearl hammer has the numbers above the pin.
I bought your CTD tournament backpack and I'm unhappy about it. The video made the bag look pretty big but it's not very bug and all my stuff from my other bag did not fit. I wish I could return it but I think it's too late. The bag is not bad, it's just not as big as I thought it was.
Great channel! I have always loved Purple bowling balls, ever since I got my Purple Rhino in the 1980s after I got out of the US Navy. Question here: I build wooden musical instruments in my shop, and whenever I switch from a coarser to finer abrasive, I always wipe down the wood with a tack rag to remove any traces of the coarser grit before moving on to the finer one. I find that doing this makes the job easier in the long run, since any leftover 150 grit particles will make sanding with 220 take longer. Would your job on the bowling ball go faster and easier if you wiped the ball down with a damp cloth when switching from 2000 to 5000, just to make sure there are not any particles of 2000 left on the ball? Anyways, great video, and the results were fantastic. My newest ball is a Purple Tank that I got a while ago but didn't drill until just last month. That Hammer you shined came out so perfect that maybe I've got to get one of those too!
Why are you polishing this in the 1st place? You should do a ball reaction video with un-polished and then polish it up and show the difference between the two.
That’s what I want to know. I no longer use my Pitch Black because it’s basically a flat 10 pin machine. 9/ makes me 😠. It now collects dust at home. Don’t even bring it to practice.
If you don't want a ball to hook at your feet than why do you have urethane in the first place. That's literally what it's purpose is; to bite into the oil of high volume sport shots. Contrary to popular belief, urethane is the last ball I'd use on dry lanes. Or any house shot for that matter. Yes it will do exactly the opposite of the design intent of the ball. Just get the right ball for the task at hand. Have never seen someone show up with a polished purple hammer at a tournament. If I did I'd laugh in their face while I count my money. 😆
@@TraumaER that's because urethane is made to get through high volume, low ratio, sport shots. Unless you are a two hander or one hander with 450+ revs there is absolutely no purpose for a urethane ball on house shot... Period. You can get away with using a purple hammer but there are better balls for the job on house shot. You will leave 10 pins or 7 pins no matter what you do. Urethane isn't for dry lanes or wet/dry conditions!!! Not sure where people get this idea but it's a huge misconception. If I see someone show up with a polished pitch black, I will literally laugh in their face. 🤷😆
@@donkeydiehard879 well I learned that the hard way. It's basically a reverse hook. Instead of skid, roll, hook, urethane on THS does hook, roll LOL! Agree about laughing at seeing a polished urethane. It's like seeing someone with a sanded plastic spare ball and complaining it hooks too much missing 10 pin spares.
@@donkeydiehard879 I used pearls and hybrids on THS now. Specifically the Hyroad Pearl is my standard for league and my first ball for major tournaments.
It seems you just polished two parts of the sphere. The top and the bottom. I was expecting to see all the surface to be polished. However it is a great video. Thank you
Polishing a urethane ball is like wiping before you poop... Doesn't make any damn sense.😂 Yes, even a purple hammer. Goes against the entire purpose of urethane. Just get the right ball for the job. This is like sanding a phaze 3 with 500. Would it work? Yes. Is it going to be better than a ball actually designed to bite in heavier oil? No

Interested in seeing the motion of that ball polished. Was thinking about polishing mine last night. Found this video today. How's it roll my man?

Pearl does not "produce" the same reaction as police. Don't be so ignorant
Do you expect him to use his competitor's products in his video.
How easy is it to talk back to factor surface from the polish
Walked in the pro shop the other day and seen a pink hammer black widow shined up and I thought it was the coolest thing

They have an old purple hammer and the new pearl purple hammer, I think this one is the old purple hammer
@@TheBlueBunnyKen I think this one is one of the new ones as it does not have "made in USA" underneath the Hammer logo.
@@strangeunidude you are right, this one is the new purple hammer. I have one
this is in reference to plasticizer additive. pearl additive is cosmetic

So if you don’t have a spinner is there another technique you could use ?

I would like to see what that ball does on the lane.

to show it can be polished
Dang got the polish and pads is the conditioner necessary, or can u use some so fresh
How many games will that polish last in normal play on a standard house shot oil pattern??
Polish urethane will last around 30 games
In your opinion whats the best surface finish to compliment the action of a purple hammer ball?
500 grit TruCuT
So will this process result in a Pearlized Urethane ball that reacts further down lane as in it doesn't hook at your feet? ;)

2000 3000 5000

Why do we want eurethanes shinny as apposed to sanded? . . .
If I'm using Urethane for a spare ball, is polish a good idea?
let it lane shine
So the microfiber towel is too get the extra polish off

Ball reaction video would be helpful
Type polished urethane ball on my channel
@@Ctdbowlingi still cant find the video, can you link it here? If you can make a polished Urethane work would be a new trend to kick off
Zero hook unless the lanes are bone dry. Even then very minimal.
Why would you want to polish a urethane ball what difference would it make serious question
Polishing a urethane ball will provide less hook. Sometimes this reaction is desired.
What's the point? 😂 Urethane is suppose to be early, controllable, and predictable, I don't see the reasoning of needing to polish an urethane ball.
