CHHAU DANCE AND MASK MAKING PROCESS

This Video was created as a college project for an Indian Craft Documentation project, wherein the famous Chhau Dance of Purulia, Jharkhand has been portrayed. In this video the craftsman Mr. Nepal Sutradhar from Charida district in Purulia and his family who earns a living from Chhau Mask making and Chhau dance have been featured. While meeting them we learnt how helpful, resourceful, good hearted, open minded people that they are. They believed in Gender Equality, Women Empowerment, Girl child education. It was an utmost pleasure to meet them as they willingly and whole heartedly helped us in this project, took care of us, made us explore the village and neighborhood. They made us believe in living with minimal resources and still be happy. It was a pleasure to meet him and his family who were very welcoming to us and with an open heart accepted us and our culture for 3 days of our documentation. They cooperated with us in the best way possible.
