Fusing platinum

The piece of platinum for the fuse piece is the same metal as the rest of the band, we rolled it threw the flats to get it as thin as possibe. I should also add if you are using this method on platinum melting glasses or goggles MUST be warn or you will damage your eyes permanently. What kind of gas is recommended for working with platinum?

We are just using LPG but Acetylene is great.

Hello, I want to fuse or solder a 24k piece of platinum to another 24k piece. Someone told me that can't be done. What do you think?

it can be done with a great deal of care, if you make both pieces thicker than you need them to finish you will have room to clean up the fuse join.
