I usually fish streamer with a 12ft sink tip line, s4 or s6, depending on the spot, leader i use fluorocarbon straight to the fly 16 to 35 lb depending on the spot. I know 35lb can be a bit too much for trout but where i live, northern Italy, we have marble trout, and they can get very big, up to 40 inch. The lenght depend on the tipe of fly line you using, with a sink tip i go for a short leader, no more of 4 ft, with floating or intermediate i go longer like 5/6 ft. Hope I help you
