Torstein Aagaard-Nilsen is in a class of his own.
One composer writing for brass bands that truly has something to say.
His "Aubade" doesn't let the listener off the hook, he engages you in the first bar and......... Loved it.
We must get some of his works played over here in the UK sometime soon, which will help to break us out of our own contemporary stupor.
