Powerful moves, Katoh Sensei! I got my nunchucks some days ago! Surprisingly, I’m already very good at it! I’d also like to have tonfa to practice with, but I’m not in the best monetary situation

      That's great!
I think you have a gift for martial arts.
      Yes, I understand your situation.
When you can afford to get Tonfa, please try it.
Thank you so much for watching my video!!

Alvin Yu I don’t have any pvc around and I also don’t have the tools to build one. I’ll try to find some ways to make one though

@@flavioluis8218 good luck, it's absolutely worth it. Besides pvc is everywhere, just go to a hardware store and you'll probably find it

Sensei . Do we have to make the tonfa stay in contact with forearms all the time ? Or only when tsuki is finished ? Sometime I hurt myself with the tonfa 😂

Katoh Sensei! I’m about to buy tonfa, what size is your arm? I think our arm length is similar. My arm, from the tip of my knuckles to the tip of my elbow, is 15 inches. What size would you recommend?

    • @KohjiKatoh
      @KohjiKatoh  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's great news!
Actually, my Tonfa is 49 cm, so it's about 19 inches.
I hope it helps you choose your Tonfa!

Katoh Sensei are these just renshu kata or are they kata that have a specific history and lineage. What are their names? They are very nice forms. Thank you for sharing.

      Hi!
Thank you so much for watching!
Actually, these are just renshu Kata.
      Kind of Ido Keiko.
These movements are good for improving your skill👍
Please try them when you practice.

I remember back in the 1980's when my eyes were opened to the idea behind weapons. 😨 That they copy the empty hand technique. One problem is that some Americans forget to use proper stances and always use a stupid version of Hachi Dachi ( walking stance.) but that's Americans for you. Hopefully they grew out of doing it all wrong.
