They are the only kpop group on this show that used mics that don’t correct anything and there was NO post correction, as told to us by the band

No in-ear monitors, new arrangements, mics not made for vocal performances (tiny desk is meant to sound like they're singing live in your living room), all in one take! And Lily playing the Melodica. NMIXX and SQU4D flexing (intentional or not) on the rest of the industry, all while preparing for a comeback.
Here's a comment from the video that @drukenrooster posted about the requirements for TDK:
Apparently, the four rules for Tiny Desk Korea (TDK) are:
1) no in-ear monitors,
2) everything's one take,
3) no using MR or AR, and
4) using TDK's mic (aka no post production).
If you fail to meet any of these rules, you'll be allowed to have your video up, but you'll have the word "Special" attached to the video title. So I believe this makes NMIXX the first kpop artist to have their video up without having to put "Special" in the title.

In kpop they are hands down the best gg overall right now (vocals, dance, charisma, funny, visuals...) outside of kpop you also have XG, BIBI and few others of course.

Someone mentioned NMIXX is the 1st kpop gg to perform on tiny desk. I'm a huge fan of the original tiny desk series hosted by NPR in DC but I didn't know there was a tiny desk Korea haha
Definitely think you're right about their trajectory. Haewon is learning guitar. I believe Jiwoo is learning the drums. They are all growing their musicality and skills each comeback. I think they'll be writing their own music within a few years.
4:50 YES! I've seen a lot of artists on tiny desk, amazing musicians all of them, but none of the ones I've heard are from that overly engineered/ prduced sound similar to KPOP. I was just shocked how well that song translated to a live/ jazz band feel. That open jazz tiny desk sound signature is so unique that i never thought I'd hear an actual kpop attempt at it. this is mind blowing.

Many idols can sing well, but nmixx is more special because they have mastered good vocal techniques, and that is very expensive.
Fun fact: NMIXX is the first kpop girl group to perform in Tiny Desk Korea and they did it in one take

I watched this 6 times, before you got your reaction out. You slippin', Adrey! Kidding! Man, oh man... not only was that performance unbelievable, but their smiles and obvious enjoyment just kept hitting me right in the feels. The talent, the playfulness, the humility... yeah... NMIXX is my favorite 4th gen group by a mile, and definitely top 1 or 2 of all gens. Now, I'm just sitting here waiting for Kyujin to get on Lee Mujin Service.

Nmixx is so talented! This is coming from an older fan (millennial lol). I’m in so deep with Nmixx right now I’m getting *NSYNC flashbacks! (Another vocally talented group) I’m just having too much fun following Nmixx. They are so good at what they do and you can see that they have fun doing it.

Kyujin was intended to be main dancer and Jiwoo main rap (both 18 yo or 17 yo this year) but they improved their vocals like, equalizing the skills in the group. Not Haewon and Lily insane but above some popular kpop groups out there.
And Sullyoon isn't just cute (with a big pause), that's all I gotta say.
And yes! I'm glad you notice, BAE's transition from normal to falsetto and then back to normal is insane. It tickles the ears and I always check my bias everytime I look at her.
I don't talk about Lily and Haewon because they do the talkin.
And If you say they are like an all-star talent group? I won't disagree.

Hey there. I love the time and energy you put into your reactions and your genuine feelings show through in this one. Well deserved because the girls put so much effort and made intelligent decisions with their performance and they were blessed with a jazzy, straightforward backup band that I wish would go on tour with them. Each song was a new discovery or exploration of what is possible without completely leaving the album track behind. I love that their nerves dissolved and it was just smiles and rocking it out throughout and the additional toy instruments were a huge gift.
I hate putting requests for one group on another’s, but this is what’s in front of me right now. I think you would really enjoy aespa’s First Take for Supernova and Hot Mess. Less singing but you still get a great sense of who they are
