I am impressed and surprised by your voice. You talk like a baritone but sing like a tenor. Has it always been like this?

    • @GoaterKensei
      @GoaterKensei 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

It’s most likely cus as tenor he naturally speaks at the lowest bottom of his range/notes which in turn is also heavier and darker than his middle and higher range im the same I talk around b2/ab2 max and my voice sounds a bit darker and heavier cus it’s my lowest notes but I have the range tessitura tone and passagio of a lyric maybe even light lyric tenor

    • @dimeandbiggie353

It's like me. I talk a bit higher than I actually sing 😂 I guess it's because your voice chooses where it feels comfortable and relaxed for talking

I feel much better access to my passagio and find it very easy to navigate through it if I am deliberately nasally the way a deaf-mute typically sounds (forgive the comparison) The hard part is keeping that feeling while shaping my mouth the way it must to make the sounds I’m striving for.
The concept of a ‘single connected voice’ (instead of the voice broken up into registers) immediately makes sense when I practice this way. Literally feels like I’m strengthening the passagio the way a muscle would be worked out when I do this to be honest

    • @GingerWaters

Seem to help in how to keep larynx not jumping up in higher chest voice notes.
The larynx muscles are reacting to high notes independently.
Like eye muscles react if wind blows sand and dust in the air.
      They just automatically close.
Or going underwater. I think human animal closes the eyes as natural reaction, but we then force ourselves to open the eyes under water.
Somehow similar muscle connection with larynx.
It reacts like independent being, until we build up new nerve connection to control the muscles.
I developed pretty much similar exercise which I call ”the lip trumpet”.
Instead of card, I just make a kazoo type of extra resonator from my lips.
That way I can sing high notes as ”instrumental solo”.
I recorded couple of videos playing the ”lip-trumpet”.
If you are interested of that method, check my channel. There is two old coca-cola add musics, which I studied as examples of how to use keychanges in uplifting way.

Well shit I must have went the harder way around it, I just muscled through it until it became normal feeling and sounding. It sounded awful starting out, now I can do it without a problem. The mums also help with that, they help your voice stay relaxed when you start to approach that area.
I can confirm what he is saying is true and sound advice. So why am I here if I can already do this? Because there is always something you can learn from different people. Never accept that you have learned all you need in any area that involves learning a skill, its what makes mistakes.
    Very good lesson.

Hi, Tyler! I love your videos, It is the greatest news for me when I see your new video popup from my notification bar today!
I don't know if I am doing flow phonation or straining when I am singing a "ma" at F4-G4. But I have the first formant located somewhere between H1 and H2 (more closer to H2), but I do feel like I will hit a limit when I move up to G#, can I say I'm doing it correctly at F4-G4? (or can't tell from spectrogram?)
The other way to ask the question, can a yell have H1-F1-H2 output?

Hi can you please make a video about how to bring out your voice, i know about mixed voice, i learned how to do that i know about chest voice head voice, i know about vibrato and belting and i know how to do those too, i also been doing lots of singing exercises. But out of all those teqniques im missing one thing which is the foundation of my voice, what are some teqniques to bringing out your orginal voice, do you just have to sing and not think about it or is their a exercise or teqnique to bring out your voice that way i can sound the same each time i sing and not sound diffrent every time. It would also be cool if you can make a video showing us were middle range is located in other words tender where tender is located, its one thing to know how to use middle range but its another to know how to sing with the correct singing muscles and spot. I guess thats what i was trying to say, i was trying to say if you can make a video showing how to sing with the correct spot in your throat and how to sing with the correct muscles, this is one thing teachers on TH-cam arent teaching. Everyone teaches us how to use mixed voice and belting and what head voice and cheast voice is but they never teach us what muscles we should be singing in or the spot in the throat we should be singing in.

when you talk about the passagio are you refferring to the mixed range or the belty tenor opera sound. my voice coach explains passagio as like a way to belt really high notes easier but i feel like youre just teqching mixed range. sorry for the confusion

Can one use the pops and whistles in the pasagio? I'm thinking of like a rolling stone by Bob Dylan or perhaps One by US. Are they in pasagio? It also seems Eddie Vedder cracks a lot, he is in pasagio?

Thanks for the lesson. I’m a bit confused though on application- so if I want to sing in passagio, then it means I just pick a key of song that is in my passagio, is that correct? For example original song key (male) is in G, then I can raise it to B to ensure it’s within my passagio zone?

Hello Tayler, I had a question about the air flow, to generate sounds with the vocal cord with more compression, is the air going to remain the same that we already generate when we work like this, or are we going to change it, reduce it or increase it? It is somewhat confusing the more you compress, the problem is because when making uncompressed sounds it does not matter if the pressure is not excessive since it will tend to take away control, what do you think about this brother ???

I’m interested in getting your mix masterclass stuff but I wanna know if it’ll have a lot of new stuff compared to what you’ve posted already and if it’ll be different from all the other stuff out there. I tried Ken Tamplins and Chris Liepes but it doesn’t work for me that well - it makes me feel a lot of squeezing. Feels like pushing chest to the highest I can go honestly and eventually smooths into a tighter compressed head voice in the upper 4th octave - sounds like crap. Their way of “mixing” sounds like the type youd hear in songs like in Japanese Anime rock music.
I have to save some $$ first because I lost a lot in crypto during the market crash 🤣.
This one definitely feels like you have to focus more on falsetto bringing it lower over time to keep it from wobbling uncontrollably and then after that the cords eventually feel more reliable and all the airiness is basically or almost all gone- just tone, lol. That’s easy for me bringing falsetto way low. Been doing that for 8 years now…
The hardest part is having the chest go up to the F4-G4 area to transition into it without squeezing hard… if too loose in the throat it feels like switching a light switch… sometimes gets cracked a lot if going past F4. If too quiet and scared of surroundings, it flips like a light switch easily… and have to manually be aware of that spot and switch earlier than F4 to make it sound smooth. Only way to go higher in the 4th octave without leaving chest is making it slightly more nasal sounding and lean towards a nasal UH sound - youll hear Chris Liepe demonstrate these sounds a lot. His soundgarden videos “little joe” just like that. Feels like slight pressure in the sternum area when making sound… for visualization: make a strong kiss suction with your lips
If bringing chest higher than E4 the switch is super obvious when switching at ~F4/F#4+ if everythings loose… trying to sound “good” and not “ugly”. Happens a lot when singing Josh Groban stuff. It seems easier bringing chest belts higher than F4 like Ken tamplins way of singing when doing ROCK but when doing softer music like RNB or Classical it just doesnt work the same way! lol. Feels like i gotta back off more. The other method feels “in your face” like forward out of your face- meanwhile this one feeling like going the opposite direction - containing the vibrations in the head.
But if switching earlier like C4-D4 it is smoother. But feels weird… but sounds similar to whats going on in this video- just seems foreign.
Though some peoples vowels like AH sound like it’s chest at G4 but when I do that it sounds like a belt like some guy from the WWE yelling YAH!!!! and nothing like that.

what does “singing in the passagio” even mean..? singing in the middle of your range has by definition nothing to do with passagio.. so confused

    • @tylerwysong
      @tylerwysong  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

Passaggio is an italian word/term for passage way. They noticed there is a certain part of the range, in the middle, where things can get weird for most singers. So singing in the passaggio is singing in this passage way which is in the middle of your range.
