I know many people tend to hate on any SH game after 3/4, but Origins isn't that bad. It adds to the lore quite well, has the same feel as the first game whilst upgrading the graphics and yet still feels like its own thing. For those who had played the original it was a hit of nostalgia, and to those who hadn't been able to it was a chance to see what it was like. :)

My favorite Silent Hill. It's THE MOST realistic... because only s trucker that's sleep deprived running on meth, trucker pills, & whippits would run into a burning building. As a Long haul trucker, I can vouch for this.
Is it realistic that they’d see a burning person in the middle of a sacrificial circle say ‘let me burn’ and respond in a bland tone of voice ‘you’re coming with me.’ Like it’s just another day on the road? Lol
@@TheSCPStudio He was most likely summoned by .. something .. as he was in the vicinity and is probably in some sort of trance. This interpretation most likely works best in the Bad Ending, as Alessa clearly says "Let me burn" though. However, that line is basically lifted straight from the movie, Dark Alessa: "Look at me, I'm burning."..
Not just running into a burning building, but also killing a bunch of hellish monsters and finally killing a literal demon lord with a shotgun and a hammer
Such a wonderful game. I’ll never forgot buying this on PSP when it first came out. I had to go to Chicago for business and the weather was awful. I just stayed in the hotel every night and played this with headphones. One of the best in the series imo
J'avais acheté la PSP spécialement pour ce jeu, malgré ce que disent beaucoup, je garde un très bon souvenir de ce jeu, il est peut être légèrement trop court, mais pour l'époque c'était plutôt cool de faire un SH sur une console portable et surtout intéressent d'en apprendre un peu plus sur l'histoire du premier SH, techniquement c'est plutôt réussit pour un jeu PSP, surtout que l'écran faisait la taille d'un portable actuel.

I was playing this a few weeks ago, but had to stop cause my ps2 started to sound like it was about to die, never knew there was a PSP version too, im picking it up again on ppsspp
I play since SH1, this SH:Origins was first for PSP (the portable playstation) and then for PS2,thats why the graphics were so bad. but it was good! (music and all!) I had to copy the version back then on DVD do run it on my Playstaion 2 because it was forbidden here in germany. USK18
17:25 *Huge* missed opportunity by the devs that the Otherworld isn't .. mirrorred .. That would have added to the surrealism, and it would have been perfectly doable; If you can put a skin on the layout and give it a decayed look *while still looking completely identical* to its Fog World counterpart, you could definitely also mirror the layout perfectly. Thank me later when you realize I'm most likely right about this.. This has been bugging me ever since the game was released. I do however like how the layout of the town basically looks like a mashup of 1 and 2. Climax really got the look and the feel of SH down to a T. You really can't deny that. i do wish Travis' personal story and demons would have been more fleshed out, especially when you take the Bad Ending into account. But all in all, this is absolutely serviceable as the first Western SH. Sadly, due to being on PSP, the scope of the game was a bit limited.

i’m new to silent hill (don’t have any of the games unfortunately 🥲 they’re too expensive) and i’m a bit confused about the plots. it seems like all of them follow pretty much the same plot over and over?? is that really the case or am i making stuff up? i’ve watched playthroughs for shattered memories and sh1 and they had the same plot, almost all the same characters, same locations, etc. like lisa the nurse shows up here around 31:00 and she’s also in shattered memories and lets harry into her house in that game, but doesn’t she also die in sh1? are they two different lisas? three different lisas?? i’m very confused. ik i watched the playthroughs out of order and this one comes first chronologically story-wise, but it just doesn’t seem to add up to me lol
SH1 and SH shattered memories are the same history, but its more like a "remake". This, SH origins its that, a pre-quel of the first game. That's the reason why some characters appear in these 3 games.
And if you want to play these, just take the rom for someplace in the internet and download the emulator, SH1 its for the psx and SH Shattered memories and SH origins are available for the psp (ppsspp)

Some minor discrepancies do occur here that doesn't quite add up with part 1, but overall it's pretty decent.
Origins is better than 4 The Room, although, definitely not the greatest. The greatest are 3, 2 and 1 in that order.
