Canadian vanner here, I cross the border in my van several times every year. You can possess and carry most knives, unless they open automatically. Locking knives, hunting knives, kitchen knives are all legal….unless you are caught using them as a weapon or declare you are carrying them for self defense. When you get to the border you will likely be asked about tobacco, alcohol and guns, but unlikely about knives. If you get asked about knives you should answer that they are for food preparation and outdoor use when in the wilderness. DO NOT say self defense. You should drive through Canada, it’s beautiful and you may learn a few things about our country that you don’t know.
I’m only going by what a friend has told me. 👍🏻🚐

We live in Canada, travel in our motorhome to USA, have never been told that our kitchen knives are not allowed to cross any border.
I didn’t say anything about kitchen knives. Try crossing with a Bowie knife and let me know what happens. 👍🏻🚐🏍️

Good Sunday evening 3 of my favorites☺. Winter is definitely settling in, here in the PNW. Marina must of been snuggled nice and cozy in the van. Thanks for the video on the heated vests and jackets, a few days ago. My youngest daughter and granddaughter's all ride horses. They love riding in the snow. the Canadian knife law has no blade length limitations. it does ban switch blade and gravity open knives, much like most states in America.

Pfft, tip of the iceberg. Our group used to do fly in fishing. Spent a lot of money up there. Haven't been back in 10 years. There's lots of things to see in the US without putting up with allll the other things up there.
