Yes, this is unfortunately a widespread prejudice and even if there are reasons for it, you can also make the German language sound beautiful in music, it's a shame that we haven't had a song in German at Eurovision for over 10 years
In the English-speaking world, too many people still associate the German language with old clips of Hitler's voice, which, to those of us who don't speak or understand (much) German, sounds like an angry barking dog. German is, in reality, a beautiful language that lends itself well to song.
Best winning song of the 80's, and one of the best ever. Even today it would have won with landslide. Peaceful, calm, timeless. Simple but the best songs are simple
i do prefer the winner reprise version where Nicole surprised everyone by singing the song in German, English, French and Dutch but this was great of course.
every time I listen to this song, tears come to my eyes. If this song won now, it would be of key importance, especially in terms of what is happening around us.🥺
Fun fact: in Poland this song is better known as "Troszeczkę ziemi, troszeczkę słońca" (translation: "a little bit of earth, a little bit of sun"), which is actually a cover sung by Eleni. So, if somebody would like to hear how does this song sound like in another language, you're welcome 😊🇵🇱
Warum heißt es eigentlich nur noch Eurovision Song Contest und nicht mehr Grand Prix de Eurovision de la Cancon de Grande?Das klingt doch viel schöner!
Today is her 60th birthday. Alles Liebe, Nicole !
They say German is a harsh language but just look at this it's actually one of the softest languages

This song can win Eurovision even in 2025 ❤
normally yes but it's in other genre than new songs
Przypomina mi trochę z zwrotki prześliczna wiolączelistka, a z refrenu troszeczkę nieba troszeczkę słońca Eleni
@@alicjawojciechowska2070 Tak się składa, że to jest oryginalna wersja wspomnianego przez Ciebie utworu (a właściwie coveru) Eleni 😉

So plain so simple but well enough for its time ✌️ Like most of the commentators I think that the song sounds like a clean German language lesson 😊
