we have three similar chickens, since march this year, they're outside, in summer we restrict them to 100 square metres, in winter they're free in the rest of the garden, still 200 square metres, they seem to be pretty happy in the garden, we have shrubs and fruit trees, they're fun animals.
One of our chickens had arthritis and could no longer use her wings. This left her vulnerable to being flipped and not able to get up. We had to bring her inside. She adapted to life with us very quickly, greatly appreciated human food and helped keep me sane during the pandemic.
