My backs are always very neat. Why? Because that is how I was taught when I learned as a child. Funny story...I once took a piece in for framing and asked my father to pick it up for me when it was finished. When he brought it over I was shocked. I showed to everyone in my family and asked if they could see anything wrong with it. No one could! Finally I told them it had been framed backwards! My back was facing forward! Obviously I took it back and they fixed it and it is now hanging on my wall. But so funny!

I think most the time the back off my project is fairly neat. I try not to carry thread too much, especially if it is a dark color. When I am finished nobody is going to see my back. I hope you have a wonderful time on the cruise with your family. Enjoy your visit with your grandchildren also.

In those, the judges turned the garments inside out to inspect the construction. It's just carried over to the stitching. It's come in handy now that I'm working on a certification thru EGA (Embroiderers' Guild of America).The back is part of the judging criteria in determining if you've passed the step. Neat back! I did model stitching for Leisure Arts in Little Rock, AR. I had to take in my stitching, the back was the first thing they looked at. The backs had to be as neat as the fronts.

I try to bury my threads and not skip over but just a few in between… I’m sure there are many that would look and still see a hot mess lol. I will say when I do make a mess on the back. It also tends to be when I’m starting to get tired. So I should probably stop stitching and I don’t ha ha

I have been making a very concentrated effort to improve my back side! It finishes off so much better when I give it that added effort. No more weird peaks and valleys on the front side.
Hi, my 1st happy mail question response. The back of my stitching is very very neat. I never knot the thread or drag from one spot to another. I need the completed piece to lay flat for finishing.

It depends if it’s a large full pattern or a simple pattern. If it’s a large full pattern it tends to be messy; too many color changes otherwise it’s fairly neat.
