I used to drive along those streets before they became pedestrians only. 1961-62-63. What memories of those summer seasons.

Hi Ron, wow - I was 2, 3 and 4 years old back then! Those were the days huh! So many people used to holiday on the island from the U.K. I have memories of 4 or 5 years after that of being at the Sunshine Hotel at Havre des Pas! Thank you so much for watching! 👍

So sad to see the shops closing. It looks like some have disappeared since we were over in April. I dont recall seeing so many empty units.

Hi Sheila. Yes, it is alarming but I don't know what they can do about it. It is a tricky problem to say the least! ☹️

Do you ever travel to Grouville? I used to spend summers with my granny and grandpa who lived there. I have such lovely memories from the mid 70’s. Their house was called Verclut.

Hi Cas, yes I'm down there regularly as I play golf at Royal Jersey. If you check out some of the earlier videos on my channel I walked from the golf club along Grouville beach to Gorey and back. I also did videos on the beaches just past the castle. I'll do some walks in rural Grouville in the future so keep watching! Thanks for your comments.......oh and I'll keep an eye out for Verclut! 😁

I hope the Jersey high street doesn’t fall to much into decline and it’s sad to see empty shops. In the uk it’s such a shame that no help is being given to a rapidly declining high street in so many towns, but as you said Tom people do a lot more online these days myself included.

Yes Nic, that is the problem.........the change in shopping habits. I don't think I've bought anything in town for years! 😖

Can you or will you show where Swansons hotel used to be, please? Thank you.

Hi Ron, I will do my best, but I'm fairly sure that it was knocked down and replaced by a modern building. I know roughly where it was, but I'll do some research to make sure I visit the right spot! Another viewer has asked for me to show The Customs pub, so I'll do both together!
