100% agree. This song is the most underrated song and it's not even close. I wish they can include this on their set list for a tour so people can hear it live in person
Agreed. What are some picks to put on that album, if we assume it's another covers album? My picks: You're Still The One (Shania Twain) Baby Hold On (Eddie Money) Tequila Sunrise (Eagles) Just Died in Your Arms Tonight (Cutting Crew) With Arms Wide Open (Creed) In My Life (The Beatles) Turn the Page (Bob Seger) Luckenbach, Texas (Waylon Jennins) California Blue (Roy Orbison) A Pirate Looks At 40 (Jimmy Buffett)
Amazing ... Amazing ... I love that song since then .. since 1997 Reload . It is a huge evidence how incredible great songwriters Metallica are . This is a Tom Waits . Bob Dylan . Leonard Cohen . Nick Cave level . Metallica never was just a simple typical metal band. Their music comes and goes far away
This song is criminally underrated. Idk why Metallica doesn't include this on their set list for any of the tours so people can hear this in person live
A hurdy gurdy man will make it glorious! Amazing performance, hope Metallica plays this master piece more often 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍 one of my favorite Metallica’s songs ever ❤
Was fun to see this. The last time they played it was 9/13/98 in Chula Vista. I was at that show as well. I was 14. So I’ve got fan cred with…”Low Man’s Lyric”! 💪🏼🤓
I love Rock and Metal music to death and if I were in a band such as Metallica and knew that u needed too do backing vocals I’d take pride in my vocal abilities
Uhhh, this song does things to me, thanks for recording brother. The morons that just dismiss Load and ReLoad because they are not typical metal are missing out on some phenomenal music, then again they're probably not capble of appreciating it.
It's their stab at Blues Rock and Country, which if anyone actually listened to Cliff-era interviews, they would know just how much stuff like Load and ReLoad were the band's eventual endgame.
The great Irony is that Load/Reload are the lynchpin. They may be the most important Metallica albums in that they are proof that Metallica can actually write songs beyond the thrash. How many thrash bands have a Low Mans Lyric? One baby, ‘Tallica.
@@BoxCarBoy12 Let's not be too harsh on all of us. There are two types of metalheads, the ones who like the music and those who in the old days were just in it because of the culture, the visuals and the subjective labels of heaviness, fastness and other BS. Those people are not gonna appreciate this song. To me, this song is as 'heavy' as Damage Inc, and Damage Inc is da shiet. 🤣
It just may well be the logical path for them to pursue. I mean they're all in their sixties now and there's only gonna be so long that they're gonna be a fast heavy metal band. I distinctively remember Lars a decade or so ago saying in interviews that he'd like to push the band as far as the Who or the Rolling Stones. Well they may have to make some adjustments to get that far down the road. The harsh reality is that everyone slows down as they get older, look at Nicko from Maiden's recent announcement.
@@tibor820 Sounds like a solid move to me. It’s like everyone says-sooner or later, it’s not gonna hit the same, or they’ll just feel too worn down to keep up with that sound after all these years. As long as we still get Metallica, I’m cool with it.
To anyone who is complaining about how they play keep in mind that they were in their early 30s when they recorded load and reload and now they are in their early 60s
Yes!!! Finally played Low Man’s Lyric again! We need an official Met Club version of this ASAP. Hopefully this means it’ll be on the set list more often
So many people said Load and ReLoad were shit. Im a REAL Metallica fan. I was 12 when Master came out and wanted to BE James, learned guitar. A REAL fan loves EVERYTHING they do. So many of those songs are so intricate. Dont get me wrong whenI heard Spit Out the Bone I was soo effing happy. Love this song. Trash Fire is Warm!!!! So Wicked and Worn!!!
I know. I've seen every tour since 1987, and not once this song was on any of their set list. Metallica needs to include this so people have the pleasure yo hear this live in person
Metallica works really, really well as a 6-piece. I can so see them turning into the Allman Brothers as they age*. Just getting up there with a frickin' banjo player, a hurdy-gurdy man, keys, one of those drums you put on your back and stomp with your feet. All that.
This was well done and I hate to say it but I think they should start going in this direction full time just because they are not spring chickens anymore and touring is very taxing especially as you get older and I'm sure their bodies are wrecked from all the shows over time
Can't believe they finally played this live again! One of my favourites!
Last they played was 1998! 😢
I wasn't aware that they ever played it live before.
Dude, you're 100% right. This song is sooooooooo underrated. I don't understand why they don't play this live
@@hinjurock70 They played it a couple of times around '97, '98.
@@itz_dxnnyz9154been too long
I love it when Kirk picks James' outfit.
😄
☺️
I think James went shopping for stage gear in Mexico City. Jussayun......
Hey you're right he's wearing pants with that side pattern like Kirk has worn for a long time! 😅
James with the mariachi pants hell yeah
Kirk told him that glitter are in 😅😂 (really love Kirk, a lil less his outfit 😄)
I think this has to be Metallica's most underrated song!
Many of their songs from Load and Reload are underrated.
100% agree. This song is the most underrated song and it's not even close. I wish they can include this on their set list for a tour so people can hear it live in person
100%
This one and Mama Said!
The studio version is genuinely in my top 5 Met songs.
Thank you! I’ve been waiting for someone to post this since I heard about the setlist!
where can i see the setlist?
On the Metallica website or their instagram page
James voice is a blessing 😢
Man I wish het would put out an accoustic album.. it would be so awesome
Agreed. What are some picks to put on that album, if we assume it's another covers album?
My picks:
You're Still The One (Shania Twain)
Baby Hold On (Eddie Money)
Tequila Sunrise (Eagles)
Just Died in Your Arms Tonight (Cutting Crew)
With Arms Wide Open (Creed)
In My Life (The Beatles)
Turn the Page (Bob Seger)
Luckenbach, Texas (Waylon Jennins)
California Blue (Roy Orbison)
A Pirate Looks At 40 (Jimmy Buffett)
Or if Metallica just did an acoustic album. Oh I know, James and Jason reunite for one
The world’s craving a James album-just him, his voice, and that raw guitar energy.
Would be great
Крутая идея, сам этого хочу
Sounds incredible! papa Het should release an acoustic album ASAP
HOLY SHIT HOLY SHIT HOLY SHIT
A big thank you for recording this
My second favourite song, finally live after 26 years!!! I'm so happy right now!
Damn, one of my favorites on Reload, both Low Man's Lyric and Fixxxer are my favorites
Totally! Bangers
Core memory unlocked. Legit forgot about this one for 20+ years. Appropriate winter song.
Great song! Great Metallica era!

I never listened to their co. with Lou Reed album but why then that album is so disliked if this song is liked ?

I love this, I also love how he throws in some gruel into the emphasis on some of his lyrics. Genius
Was fun to see this. The last time they played it was 9/13/98 in Chula Vista. I was at that show as well. I was 14. So I’ve got fan cred with…”Low Man’s Lyric”! 💪🏼🤓
Love that is someone doing backing vocals properly!
😅😂 I love Kirk and Rob a lot !!! But damn they suck as back vocalist 😅😂
Avi doesn't get enough credit for his vocal work.
...And the piano is also a nice addition.
I love Rock and Metal music to death and if I were in a band such as Metallica and knew that u needed too do backing vocals I’d take pride in my vocal abilities
EASILY The most underrated Metallica track, I'm so happy to see they brought this gem back out again!
Oh my god my favorite song!!!!
Shortest Straw, Unforgiven II and this jewel. Incredible.
😮 oh my I’ve got chills, amazing they played this!
Love this song!! Can't believe it was played live again!

Thanx, love the song for so many years
Mark my words. In the 2030s, this will be Metallica. This is the format of their old age touring. It's a good thing.

i LOVE LOAD , RELOAD and GARAGE…..
It bothers me they dont play these "odd" pieces on the regular tour.

Kirk on the strat was very cool, n that guy on acoustic was killin those bg vocals. 👍👍
One of the few Reload songs that I love.
They should play this live more
Missing the hurdy gurdy but sounds absolutely incredible
Muchas gracias amigo ❤❤
🎸🎸🫶🫶🤘🤘❤️🔥❤️🔥 Metallica for ever.
Oh my fuck they did it!
Please play mama said next:)
they finally played it again!
I’m glad they dusted this one off great harmonies and keys too!
The Ostrów cultural center will feature an acoustic version of Metallica's song, as the facility has its "own" JBL Professional sound system
Incrível como as músicas de Load e Reaload soam muito bem ao vivo.
YAAAAASSSSSSS
James Hetfield nothing more to say
Wow they never played this song live before
they played it in 1998
I absolutely love this song. I'm glad to hear it ! ❤
They did way back in 1998, so it's still huge
They've performed it 65 times from 1997-1998. This is the first time (the 66th) that they've played it in 26 YEARS!
Never thought they’d play this one again, super underrated song! It sounds a lot better with Kirk playing the hurdy gurdy part on guitar
Thanks! Maybe you have the whole show squirreled? For such as myself, who couldn't be there.
Metallica is going to post it on TH-cam on Dec 19th
I can't believe it
f*cking beautiful!!!
And its 2024 so we can get a great video of this so quick lol
Did they do "Mama Said" after this?
No
Nice performance for 4 old timers! ;-)
Wow
Cheers!
Those first few lines feel like haiku
Cok sukur🎉
❤❤❤❤❤❤
Essa música merecia ser tocada mis vezes.mas infelizmente, a banda insiste em tocar as mesmas músicas batidas de sempre

It would've been cool if Kirk played a ripping but soulful solo on this live version.
This was well done and I hate to say it but I think they should start going in this direction full time just because they are not spring chickens anymore and touring is very taxing especially as you get older and I'm sure their bodies are wrecked from all the shows over time
Avi Vinocur is the greatest thing to happen to Metallica since Jason Newsted left.
2 new band members?

Wait is that Bob Rock on keyboard?
Brian May

Finally..but the dude on the keybord could easily pull of that haunting hurdy gurdy melody. Meh
Would love to see them do a proper acoustic/unplugged show,ie NO drummer!!
