Another good example of this is vibrant venture, it used to be a roblox game back in 2020 but got discounted and turned into a real game because the bad code and the bad advertisement roblox was offering

i'm a solo dev working on an rpg that is inspired by games like shadovia, arcane odyssey, and deepwoken. i think i would be in a demo stage if not for my lack of motivation. it is hard to work on a game knowing that there will be people who don't understand the effort put into coding an entire game on their own and making 3d models on their own. I know that people will always complain but it is just hard to work on something knowing people expect perfection when I am just one teenager working on a game. I also don't have the money to hire commisions

All of this is really due to roblox becoming more corporate but that’s a different story for another day

One thing roblox developers have in common is they simply cannot communicate with their community even if their lives depended on it, its like a requirement as a roblox dev to never communicate with your players and just dont update for months lol.
I'm not going to cap bro you were spitting; me and my friend's had the same stuff on recommended for you and on home page, it consists of boring games that make you have to pay for a fun experience.
you always make great and accurate points, and tbh its what the roblox community needs. it always makes me sad to see when devs start to think of these massive projects just for the game to end out being made poorly, or just not released at all.(anime legends)
I feel like if no one else will I have the responsibility to publicize these obvious issues and bring awareness to someone else and just spread the word and messages of encouragement as well

As a very new dev, I first wanted to create the biggest game on roblox but soon our team realized that we got no skills and money. So we decided to create a simple battleground game first, it contains lots of cashgrabing stuffs to support our next project. Some devs, however get lost and blinded by cash in the process and continued to create simple cashgrabs that brings them tons of money. Maybe I will become one of them too, since getting lots of money without paying much effort is very temptating.

as a new developer: thats why i dont think making a dev team until a really big protect that i want to make bc its impossible to do every single thing alone:
coding, building, even soundtracks even tho im skilled at music and building i still have no idea how do i fix my gross scripting skills i guess indie devs must have a really long time to master at these so they can actually publish their game without almost any issues.

Me an my 2 friend are trying to create a original f2p game and is taking a lot out of me and I wonder if people will even see my game or be able to view it and this video really encouraged me to continue working on the game
I think this video is absolutely amazing. Being a small developer myself, I don't believe people quite understand just how much needs to be put into a single game to even attempt to reach 100 players, let alone thousands. Having that urge to just make a copy-paste game since so many make it to the top that way is rough. Attempting to make original-content games on roblox seems to be a lot more "punishing" to the developers rather than "rewarding." Roblox is a, honestly, scary platform to put months and/or year(s) into game development.
Again, amazing video and I hope more people understand and possibly even helping out smaller development teams that have enough struggles attempting to release creative work.

You should look at darkenmoore it’s a horror type roblox game that was abandoned a couple of years ago but I would love to play it again, another game is bloodlines it’s kinda Grindy and difficult and the community is super toxic but it is pretty fun

one of the most underated devs are Archeximus, that made some really good games independently, such as decaying winter and contact: A-888, but she also created other good games

I once played a game called "The Lost Lands", and its a very good adventure game that has multiple biomes and disasters. Btw you can get all disasters at one. It happened to me.

It would be really cool if you could make a video showcasing smaller games that are just amazing and deserve more players here’s some of my favorites that don’t get enough players: Hours, and Neon Knights are the 2 that I love the most and some others are, Rampant, and PWNED: Aeternae Memori

There was a recen case in a private game called cursebound that the owner ( I think) manipulated, abused and other things that in the discord server clarified that he did. The game is not discontinued but this can be a reason why de a quit doing their projects
One thing I won't ever understand is how someone can put so much work into something, just to drop it like it's a piece of trash. You worked so hard on your game and now you're just gonna pretend it doesn't exist? I understand having a lack of motivation but it's honestly just sad, the sheer amount of games that had so much potential, just to get dropped is sad

Honestly i feel bad for demonfall, it has TOO much potential, even if the dev has created all the abilities, they can just add some mechanic to let players to be creative with the abilities. Like it is canon that somone can use two breathing at once. There are honestly too much rooms for it to grow

i feel like there is a lack of motivation for devs to make games in general, i look at how high the standard for effects and animations are and think about how someone else will top it, seeing as people on roblox only play something for its flashy effects and animations

Maybe Roblox should add like a keyword function so you type in the search function let’s say “First Person Shooter(FPS)” or “Horror” or “Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure” and so it pulls up all the games following by that tag. Cause I feel that a problem is that not many people are able to find the type of games they want and so you’re having to scroll until you maybe find something that you want to play

The example of such games is "Blacksite Zeta". This game was and keeps being a small game. The animations are pretty good. "Nuggets" will be associated with this. But since as I said before for those who have memory like a fish, it's unpopular. The updates aren't releasing, being completely different from trash, like "SCP games and monsters". For game were large hopes: update the nuggets, add advanced mutation, more creatures, but sadly it didn't happen, because of the recommendation board consisting of copy and paste "experience" games where there are stuff like that: you work in random place, hold the E key to complete tasks, running away from monster, kill rats, news of killer or monster, simple jumpscares, calling and no one answers it. In my opinion that there are a lot of hidden jewels in roblox, but in recommendations are poops in beautiful package.
Can you try to explain a game called "electric state"? I'm just sad about the dev abandoned the game, it was truly a masterpiece with amazing graphics from the earliest Roblox years (2018), until today the game was dead.

The best and i think only thing we all could do is honestly recommed smaller games with potential like (in my opinion) Decaying Winter or Bulwark i dont think there is any realistic way to get roblox to stop putting games that pay well in front page
I always wanted my own roblox game, i have so many ideas and it would be a demon slayer game, sadly i have pretty much 0 idea on how to create a game or the money to let anyone make it, my main idea for the game would rather have a kind of linear type of progression with a storyline and after you completed the storyline you can do other stuff like raids or protect villages, one main thing i dont like about roblox games is that how slow the pace is, for example, overkill, a fast paced shooter game where your flying across the map fighting waves of enemies, i wanna make that to so ur running incredibly fast, tree jumping and stuff and alot of parkour, and you can mix your skills in with the parkour and stuff
Yea i also had a brilliant idea for a hack n slash game though i knew no coding (i even made a crazy lore for it), but i knew it wouldnt make it far because of people playing the mediocre stuff. Btw i think the game ur talking abt is "ultrakill", not overkill :)

Thats true i remember deflect but deflect is a copy of a overwatch gamemode called genji ball, and genji ball is a copy of a tf2 gamemode called pyroball or something like that so no one is really free but its sad that deflect lost on all that good good and blade ball making 6 figures for copying a game

the lack of new game creators is also tied to coding in roblox in my opionion
roblox updates their codebase way too frequently and makes getting into coding hell because any tutorial you follow might not even work
and even the tutorials that often dont actually explain anything
for instance:
if your told to use something in a script and not told how to use it or what it does you dont learn anything from this and just wasted your time
the only good learning places currently is the dev forum documentations and asking others for help which as the video states GOOD LUCK
there is a lack of any proper tutorials which means lack of new coders
this is also why code from leaks is reused and why popular games with leaks like ro-bio, abd and that other ancient jojo game exist
if we want more coders we need better tutorials that actually EXPLAIN what things do and their proper context
you can be told what a boolean does but that doesnt mean you where told how to use it and its correct contexts
finding work is also hard aswell as certain roles are often looked down on
SFX designers are often looked down on entirely for being useless despite the fact alot of popular games wouldnt have that "oomf" without the sound design
