I absolutely love the comedy genius that is David Allen Grier. Another example of a modern day, truth-telling jester is Josh Johnson. Thank you, Toure, for these insightful interviews.
Kudos to Toure for interviewing really good people we actually want to hear from. David Allen Grier is a good one and this was delightful to watch. He really is funny and well capable 🎉
Great interview. He’s been one of my faves for a long time. He’s in one of my fave movies - The Peeples - a comedy with Kerry Washington as his daughter. Charming, sweet, and funny.
Loved this interview with the great DAG!! 👏🏿✊🏿👍🏿 Just wish Toure would've given David time to land his plane a bit with some of his stories. Can't rush or interrupt the commentary of the greats when you have em on!
55:19 (In Living Color was a) "Place of Freedom" "& Keenen fought for Us." Thank you for articulating what support looked like and how it was embodied at that crucial opportunity for grow which resulted in the filmm Boomerang being made with You in it: Self-Actualization fuel / love letter for the people stateside to really laugh, go for love, and be our natural ourselves. Thank you both for letting this whole episode happen.
1:09:52 - "All those anxieties..." 1:10:09 "Well what bothers You then?" Thank you all for capturing this whole inner barometer affirming Q & A experience.
Awe I luv him he seems so genuine 💗! Also I luv how they mentioned Lynn Whitfield and Toure said she the 🎉 for her age and DAG said Amen!!!! Lmao 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣!!!!❤🎉
i love that david giggled after toure mentioned homie the clown, because no matter how matter of factly you can mention it, i really don't think anybody could hear it and not laugh. 🤣
1:07:33 - 1:08:08 "How is my goal" "I want to be the oldest MF who remembers lines." Hahahahahaha I needed this whole episode to strenghten a ways to confront and deal with a creative life path.
I saw something on TV years ago and a reporter asked Richard Pryor (he was in a wheelchair at the time) who was his favorite young comedian at that time, and he said Dave Chappelle.
Love David Allen Grier! At the 59:00 mark he’s speaking on white supremacy. The white powered structure that people love to deny exist but we know different. They want to control everything and it sickening. I’m glad David didn’t take the SNL gig. That show doesn’t speak to us and i haven’t watched in decades.
I have always loved David Alan Grier. He is one of the funniest comedians I have ever seen.
Ikr
David Allen, Greer, and Tommy Davidson, two of my favorites I could listen to and watch these guys all day long

DAG brings his craft to every role. From the extreme to the banal it’s always top level work from this brotha
David Allen Grier has always been one of my favorite Comic/Actor'. I truly enjoy all of his work!!
Whyd you cut him off when he was explaining the 200 year old slave??? 😂..👀⚠️
He was so good in Queen Sugar! It was amazing. All I had seen was his comedy for a long time.
Omgosh, I could not stand Jimmy Dale. But I love David Alan Grier. 😂
He was so believable, it was scary!
David, is a big time star.
Can carry a show
BIG 🌟 Grier, Please know that we appreciate the wit and intelligence you bring to all roles.🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Whenever there’s a new DAG interview, I stop whatever I’m doing & press play immediately
The one and only Mr. DAVID ALAN GRIER!!
He’s one of the most talented Brothas that ever did it in his time! Period! Great Comic, Great Brotha, Pure Greatness.
I love that he’s mentioning the greats when there wasn’t so much exposure for them. ♥️🕊️
He’s so good…..so good.
so so so good
Very much so. He's underrated... he needs to get his flowers 💐. Always.
I absolutely love the comedy genius that is David Allen Grier. Another example of a modern day, truth-telling jester is Josh Johnson. Thank you, Toure, for these insightful interviews.

I am a physician and everything he describes is so true.

I am truly happy for Mr. Greer and where he is in his career. He is one of the greats.
This guy is an amazing actor/ comedian. Thanks for doing this!
Great interview! DAG is so talented. He can do it all--comedy, drama, singing, moonwalk 😂

1:09:52 - "All those anxieties..." 1:10:09 "Well what bothers You then?" Thank you all for capturing this whole inner barometer affirming Q & A experience.
David is a very big star! Famous as Jamie Fox & Tyler Perry. Seemed rude for the host not to understand that. Black on Black Crime
Awe I luv him he seems so genuine 💗! Also I luv how they mentioned Lynn Whitfield and Toure said she the 🎉 for her age and DAG said Amen!!!! Lmao 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣!!!!❤🎉
Congratulations. Enjoy Sir 🫡
I enjoy this interview so much ❤😅😅😅
Love David Allen Grier😊❤️
i love that david giggled after toure mentioned homie the clown, because no matter how matter of factly you can mention it, i really don't think anybody could hear it and not laugh. 🤣
55:03 Well, Damon Wayans was a cast member/featured player on SNL. In Living Color was built to NOT be SNL, for the creative reasons DAG mentioned.
1:12:10 "Try to pick the right projects for the right reasons" 1:13:17 "It's Now or Never" "Bet on Yourself" (Re: Porgy & Bess experience)
1:07:33 - 1:08:08 "How is my goal" "I want to be the oldest MF who remembers lines." Hahahahahaha I needed this whole episode to strenghten a ways to confront and deal with a creative life path.
He's a legend...... read his book

We were paddled in school back in the 80s in New Orleans. We also had to pledge allegiance to the flag back in those days.
I would love to see David Alan Grier and Tommy Davidson do an updated version of the Bullshit Brothers.
DAG
Retiring and starting a new series all at once.
DAG is underrated
When was he in Queen Sugar
