On the Cosby Show, when his character finally was diagnosed with Dyslexia, so many kids got help at school after that. Thank you, Malcolm, for doing such a great job.
My oldest brother was one of those kids . I remember us all watching it that night and my mom asking him, “do you feel like that?” It was the first time I saw him cry. I guess he finally felt understood and seen. Aside from Cosby being a monster, the show is cultural history
I didn't know that existed until this show. It made me more mindful, as a kid, to other kids limitations. I used to get annoyed as a kid and that changed after that episode.
The revelations about Cosby are still saddening but this series brought positive energies to people (Black especially) all around the world. For us Black people growing up in Europe for instance, they inspired and represented us. My 12 yo kid and me still watch it❤❤️❤️❤️

This is how you bring out the person in the interview and not trashy questions as to start feuds and discord among other people because of what was said or ask. I am in AWE!
I got the opportunity to hangout with Malcolm as we were in the wedding of a mutual friend. I was asked to drive around with Malcolm, and it was funny watching people reaction when we would stop in some of the local places. And yes, the way he's portraying himself here, was exactly how he was then. We had our lunch comped at this restaurant, and him talking to people at this department store we went into. He was definitely fun to hangout with.
I grew up watching the Crosby show. I had a chance to meet Phylicia Rashad & Debbie Allen & Keshia Knight-Pulliam several times a child & teen. I love the fact that Malcolm is still successful & was not a Hollywood kid. The Cosby's carried themselves with dignity. They weren't in the news. That's what we looked up to.
So has no one seen his character on the resident? This man was Emaculant. He was great he was strong. He played a man's man. This specific actor held my attention through every scene. He needs to be in more
The Cosby was and is the best show on television. The casting was phenomenal, acting was top-notch, script, writers….Best show ever! Wish it was still easily accessible on tv. It has impacted so many lives and still affects me today. This show is legendary! All actors on the show were phenomenal! So gifted! Minus all the profanity great interview! Great interview. Ive always loved MJW, I grew up watching him, so watching him on The Resident doing a totally different aura is amazing. Hes one of my favorite people to watch on tv, its guaranteed to be good tv.
The vulnerability thing reminds me of the Good Times episode where JJ got shot and James went to the arraignment of the person who shot him. That scene where the person who shot him was in tears and James was also in tears for that person is something we must all remember. And this was in the 70s. People tend to sometimes forget that Good Times also had that. Still love the dynomite but there was also that.
Favorite scene on the Cosby Show: Dr. Huxtable tells his son, Theo, " That was the stupidest thing I ever heard, no wonder you always get 'D's' in everything!". Just when people thought it would be a tender Father/Son moment.
I was cheering for Theo when they finally figured out he was dyslexic. Redemption. He learned a different way. He was not stupid. Misunderstood. So many kids got help at school after that episode.
1:03:10 - I love how Toure allows Malcom to think after being asked a question. He's very comfortable with the silence. That's the mark of journalistic maturity and having a thorough understanding of the interview process. I remember once Kanye was being interviewed by Harvey from TMZ, and Harvey asked him a serious question. Kanye paused to think, and it went like this: Harvey: Do you want me to repeat? Kanye: No. Harvey: Why don't we do this? Let's take a quick break... Kanye: No, we're not going to Jimmy Kimmel the situation. Harvey: No, we're going to come right back. Kanye: No, we're NOT going to come right back. We're going to give me time to think. You asked me a serious question, and I'm going to take some time to think about my answer. I thought that was impressive that Kanye had the presence of mind to think this way even on the fly. I was also disappointed in Harvey trying to rush him. There is nothing wrong with a bit of silence. But Toure doesn't do Malcom like that. He's a true journalist. Kanye Short: th-cam.com/users/shortsB-GwH4THMBc
This interview was wonderful. I agree, his role on the resident is one of my favorites, I wish we got his love story with Dr. Mina. Malcolm is a legend! 🥰
It truly breaks my heart that what they want our young generation of black youth to only be thugs and prostitutes who take drugs to escape the reality that they have contributed to. I hate that theirs no shows like the Cosby show that doesn't do the usual stereotypes and push negative lifestyles. We talk about it and we complain but we haven't done anything to change it. If Zeus can promote grown women fighting half naked why haven't we created an app with wholesome shows promoting positive black families who are middle class hard working and educated. That why I will watch the Cosby show and A different world for the rest of my life because it was just that good. ❤❤❤ Each character is so relatable.
Yo out of all the "child actors" we never heard or saw images of Malcolm acting a fool during his rise to stardom, dude was grounded at that young age. Yeah, I never felt like "Theo" was an Oreo or a "Tom"
Yeah they shoulda never taken it off air. That situation had NOTHING to do with the show. And it was a wholesome, relatable, topnotch, BLACK sitcom!!!!
