@@dpflack1744 yes but it was reasonably loud and 100pct incredibly awesome, I hope to God that eventually we'll go back to the OLD normal so you, me, we, can all see them
This may sound corny to some but as a devout Christian as well as a guitar fanatic I found TSO to be perfect union of glorious praise and inspirational rock. This medley always overwhelms me and means so much to me. God bless Paul O'Neil for producing this and all the talented musicians who make it live nightly.
Rest In Peace Paul O'Neil. Thank you so much for giving us these great arrangements. It is because of Paul that we have TSO. He will never be forgotten. What an incredible and talented musician. Damn anyhow...😢
If you've never seen TSO and you're also a Christmas person- who says "Merry Christmas" and not "Enjoy your holiday"... you need to see TSO. It'll make your season, same as a theatre production of "A Christmas Carol" can do. It puts me in the mood, and brings me joy.
I've never seen 'em (I'm not much of a concert goer, anyway); but I do have 3-4 of their CDs, as well as downloaded music. I was just sitting here thinking, how can I, as one who loves Bing Crosby's "White Christmas," enjoy TSO so very much? Dunno, just a Christmas mystery, I guess ;-)
This is PROOF that they aren’t “dubbing”. I’ve been a fan since they began as a group... I’ve attended every East Coast Show in New Jersey since they first toured. I can say they are the REAL DEAL. God Bless em. I look forward to seeing them every Christmas season. Great orchestra
This has to be Al’s best performance of this song, this performance is truly special. You can really see the passion in his face, he’s totally in tune with his guitar and the part at the end is just phenomenal. Al makes his guitar sing and it’s beautiful. The best TSO performance of this song I’ve seen. I always come back to this video each year. TSO really is a one of a kind experience-every year is amazing.
I never would have believed this Alabama model/ extreme country girl would ever follow an "orchestra", but here I am, and here I go with you guys for as long as I breathe.....
God Bless the TSO and Al! We all know the Good Lord is smiling upon them! Also, if anyone says that Catholics are not creative, they obviously have NOT met Al Pitrelli! ROCK ON, BROTHER!!!
Jordan Bannantine actually slash is fairly mediocre. what is impressive about him, is the size of his ego. that thing is huge. but repetitive pentatonic box square rhythms are pretty boring, and thats about all he plays.
sweatshirt029 Slash is amazing. While he may not be in the top 10 guitarists for me, but he is definitely in the top 100. Now, I understand that you have an opinion, but I'd like you to look back at your comment, and then think about it again. While you are thinking about it, think to yourself if you can play his hardest solo (matter of opinion, so I won't give you what solo to think of). If you can play it perfectly, or even jam with it a bit, then you have the right to say that he is mediocre. If not, say he is a good guitarist, but not your favorite. I play the guitar, and I know the hard work it takes. If you do, you will understand, if not, you won't, and not realize that songs may be harder than they seem.
This is done with respect to the song with Rock-LOVE it ! I'm 66 yrs old and grew up with Rock and love the blending of Faith and Rock music. Thank you.
On November 28, my husband and I celebrate our 38th wedding anniversary. We have chosen to celebrate by going to see TSO in Phoenix on December 1st! I can’t wait! Happy Thanksgiving and Merry Christmas everyone!
Just seen them last night in Phoenix. What an amazing new show to experience! This is not a concert..This is a story shared through amazingly talented music ROCK ON TSO!

Perfect? Sorry, anything but. Nothing creative, nothing unique. Just a bunch of aging rockers flinging their hair around like they're still in their 20s laying on the affects pedals and the same old riffs. I do like their Christmas Canon -- love their production/version of it. IMHO, let the keyboardists lead the sound -- two incredible talents who are drowned by the guitar overplaying. (And I'm a guitarist myself..) BTW, you really didn't need all of the question marks. :)
who says Christmas is dead and insignificant?? This amazing band embraces Christmas and they absolutely rock the house!!!!! Seeing t hem in Ontario, Ca.
I'm not sure any one has said Christmas is dead and insignificant (though I agree with Snooby66), but all religions are on a downward trend as a whole thanks to the Internet and higher level of education and information to the masses. Soon we will be celebrating the actual change of the season rather than mythical supernatural stories. I saw TSO last night and a black family behind me was sort of enjoying the show (not sure they liked the heavy metal sound). Then the big dragon eye came out (2nd half of the show) and TSO started to play other music. I could hear concerned comments from the father, "what is this?" and "no no no". The family promptly left. Obviously a confused family which thought they were getting a religious concert.
Mike Wazowski Not sure where you’re coming from. All religion is definitely not dead! For music, there are so many really good Christian bands out there. I grew up on 60’s music and went to different concerts; J. Geils Band, U2, Prince, The Rolling Stones among them. U2 has been known as Christian from their beginning. Alice Cooper is a Christian, as is Justin Bieber(he has a following), the group P.O.D. and Brian Welch with Korn, to name a few. 3 years late. Christmas is a pagan holiday and it is not his birthday. Jesus was most likely born in either September, October, or November. It says specifically in the Bible not to decorate your tree with gold and silver because that is how pagans would decorate their trees in honor of their god Molach, which they sacrificed live babies to. I still celebrate Christmas but I make sure it's in Jesus' name.

It's hilarious how many people go see TSO expecting a conservative symphonic Christmas experience, only to find out they bought tickets to a metal concert. Excellent stuff here.
