I'm rewatching this epic beginning to keep the hype train rolling until I start my campaign this weekend. Finished painting up my hero Dunmer and wife's Khajiit ready for some action, used some contrast paints that I got from your recommendation, and I am very happy with the results.

Hey just following up on your last comment about possibly making the game harder. The rule book does have two suggestions that I found as I'm making my way through. 1: You do not gain the three automatic duce for sneak you only gain it from your skills. 2: Threat tokens on failed quests get redistributed to the board and ongoing quests. Hope this helps 😊

Finally started the game. Don’t believe my start. First card I draw no special rules. Indicate I need to start in white run. Starting up sky forge first town card I draw I have to go to a wilderness spot in the rift with just my fists and ragged shirt to kill a mage there. I fail fortunately it has no effect. I just get beat up and taught a lesson. Then I decide I need to try out a dungeon to see if I can find anything I can use. End up facing a bear, which I just barely survived and then a skeever fortunately, after finishing off the bear, I found a two handed Warhammer. Which I used to take out the skeever. What a wild start!
That is an epic start!!! getting beat down and then finding a weapon that you had to use to get though the dungeon, Coming out more experienced that totally feels like an Skyrim start!!!!
When taking loot from defeated enemies, each player only gets to take on treasure. (Rb page 37). So with that bear f.e. You pick the treasure OR the herb. Yeah, that sucks. ;)
Storywise this makes me want to jump back into ESO while waiting for one of my sources to confirm availability. Mechanics-wise this is similar to The Witcher: Old World, except dice-based not deck-based. Hopefully huge local commercial success will pprompt designer of the latter to design something along the lines of The Withcher: Chronicles Of The Old World...
I wasn't interested in this game because I have Skyrim on my PC. However, I decided to watch to se the difference between board game vs computer game. As a solo player I prefer the computer game, but to have social game/party night, definitely play the board game.
Hey Bairnt loving the playthrough so far. Hoping to get this to the table next week if I finish painting the heroes. Just wondering in the battle with the enraged spirit could you have used to Nords Battle cry ability when the spirits attack was due to do 2 health and 1 stamina damage so you could pay 1 health to attack without being hit back and would that have cancelled the spirits incoming attack? Think I'll be playing the Orsimar so battle will be my focus Edit: just got to the part where you talk about the ability later on, sorry for the premature comment haha just had to ask before I got too into the rest of the video and forgot 😅 Edit 2. I think when you attacked the kajiit guard with your heavy attack 2 you moved his light armour down 2, however I think you have to attack the armour that matched your attack first if possible so would have only been 1 wound to his heavy armour track. I think. And he was missing so often I don't think it would matter at all 🤣 Edit 3. Sorry this is getting long but I know you want to play at corrector as possible. I think you have mixed in the basic treasures and the equipment deck into one. The basic treasures have a chest with B and the equipment has an anvil. The treasure is loot and the equipment can be crafted in towns.

We ran both campaigns in the base box this weekend. Overall it was fun but we didn’t see ourselves playing it repeatedly. The combat is simple in practice but gets repetitive and you feel it: Enemy roll, I roll, enemy roll, etc. Glad to see you saw the wrong order on the reference card for combat. That is probably the worst error but the rulebook overall is messy. Also, the default Sneak of 3 dice + Sneak is OP. I recommend doing 1 die or none + Sneak. You can easily get 7-8 dice for sneak in a couple turns and the game gets very easy. Would love to know how you feel about the combat.
My thoughts exactly, sneak is way OP. Also while i enjoy the quest/event deck, I feel like it pushes you to complete quests super quickly while I felt i wanted to spend more time exploring town and forest events, side quests, etc. maybe free roam does that better, but after I finish the campaign I can't say I want to even keep playing at this point. /oh well.
I am actually planing on a non stealth build cus I usually play that in elder scrolls games lol!! So I will not be OP 😢. I do wish you gained threat a little less than you do so you can explore a little more but I’m not too worried we shall see how it all comes together after the next couple videos😃😃👍.

Nice I hope you enjoy it. I’m sure i could just remove the cards from the monster decks that are obsolete instead of having to fight them to get tot he more powerful monsters could be one way. Also I might have just picked really powerful character and skills to go with him. It would be interesting to start again with a different character and see what a different path would look like. From what I have heard stealth is really powerful in this game. As for the miniature set I will not use it it takes the place of the tokens on the battlefield but I’m ok with them. Sorry it took so long to respond to your message. I have been thinking a lot on these questions to give you my honest opinion on the game Skyrim. This made my top 10 of last year. I like the adventure system and the fact that there are many things to do in this game. The threat system is good as well. It keeps you moving forward toward your goal in a timely fashion. The combat can be tense but I also find the combat a little distracting from the adventuring portion. This might be due to recording. The simplistic system is refreshing. Roll dice and use resources to roll again. I don't feel you need to know about the Video game to enjoy the board game. It will use people and places from the game to make connections but It is not needed. With that said I am having trouble with balance. My character I feel has become too powerful just playing though the game. Maybe starting again and using a different character could change this, but I dont feel challenged as much as I thought I would. Player count could make a change in the difficulty. I have only played what you have seen so far so I can't answer questions past these quests. I would like to finish the campaign but I am not sure I would return to this game after that campaign. Also I am not impressed with the miniatures other than the character minis. I feel they are unneeded. I hope that this helps you decide. Great question. So I’m not sure what I used for the main cards I had a game that I bought that was sleeved. I unsleeved it cus it was a game I didn’t need sleeves and used those they have a lot of space around the card not that tight of a fit but the small cards I used mayday “mini Chimara 43x65 and they are too tight I supild have used “mini Euro” sleeves but I though that would leave to much space around the card but the ones I used I’m not happy about, but that’s ok. I have a question about levelling up the dungeon deck. Example : you do not have a level (so the stats are at starter) you fight level 0 monsters , you level up right after a dungeon (animals for example), so a stat gains a lvl so it's at lvl 0 , do you instantly remove all level 0's from ALL dungeon packs ? Or do you have to defeat the lvl 0's first and THEN remove them ? Because if the other player that hasn't levelled up is inside a human dungeon , does he fight the level 0's and remove them afterwards because another player is level 0 or not ? This confuses me alllllllllllllll around :(
There are a lot of things that confuse me in this game. From how I understand it, it is based on the person who fights. The good news is you can cooperate in the dungeon and fight together. That could help. I wish the rule book touched more on these instances. Sorry I’m not much help 😃😃👍
@@MeetMeAtTheTable So that's what I do to, if you for example everyone only visits the animal dungeons, and level up there, the other dungeons won't be affected by raising the levels, that's how I do it , ok good good :)
Great question. The world quests will have it written on the card. Personal quest are those you find traveling to individual places mostly in the strongholds and the wilderness decks. Also personal quest has a little dot next to a number. So you can have two quests with dots and one without the dot. It is very small detail but after you realize it, you cannot unseen it. 🙂
Part of me is wondering is the large map and minis are really required seeing the game seems very choose your own adventure type game? I could be wrong as the story progresses. It reminds me a little of Pathfinder Card Game but with some variations
I will say for me the minis especially for the monsters are not needed. They are fun to have but I’m ok with the little tokens on the board. I will say I was not a fan of pathfinder the card game. The board is cool cus you can map out how to get to the next quest, but with your 4 speed you could probably get to any symbol on the board. It could also take you more than one turn to get to where you need to go. I think of it more as a skill check game than a choose your own adventure. The create your own adventure is in reference to the mission progression not the combat the combat reminds me more of that Dr Who dice game (Time of the Daleks I think it's called) where you have to get specific symbols and have items or companions to help the results. I actually enjoyed the Pathfinder card game - frustrating as hell lol. This game does have my interest as I love Skyrim lol. The use of tokens for enemy placements is cool with me, but the minis I think are more for hooking people in - a current trend for Kickstarter type board games esp if they are not needed.
I agree that the map/board is bigger than it needed to be. They could have put the stronghold info by each stronghold instead. It was such a table hog even on my 3x5 table.
@@Malgamus and for the type of game the map is not the key element - it has a role but if it was an area control game with mini armies then yeah you need the space but if it's just for travelling it could be smaller.

Your never late. It’s great to hear from you. As for Skyrim. I am having an issue with balance in the game and it is losing my attention. I will need to make it more difficult. The enemies are too easy for me to defeat. The story and theme of the game is still keeping me going but it’s getting harder to get to the table with other games to play. I think I need to just remove the easier monsters from the game. It is still fun. I still have but not sure for how much longer. Sir.....at 56:32 you mentioned you get a B item...But you take a regular one... I haven't read all the comments, might be included allready, but don't you have to take the B treasure ?
AT 59:05 you have 5 experinece points, yet you start counting with 3,4,5 - Where did you get the other 2 experience points? You already added 1 from the battle you just won, even if you added one more form the secoond battle, you would still only have 6 experience points.

I wonder if this board game is just as glitched and broken as the video game. My character in the game is literally trapped in a dungeon because the game glitched out and there is simply not a way to leave it anymore lol

Which sleeves do you recommend?
Great question. So I’m not sure what I used for the main cards I had a game that I bought that was sleeved. I unsleeved it cus it was a game I didn’t need sleeves and used those they have a lot of space around the card not that tight of a fit but the small cards I used mayday “mini Chimara 43x65 and they are too tight I supild have used “mini Euro” sleeves but I though that would leave to much space around the card but the ones I used I’m not happy about, but that’s ok. I have a question about levelling up the dungeon deck.
Example : you do not have a level (so the stats are at starter) you fight level 0 monsters , you level up right after a dungeon (animals for example), so a stat gains a lvl so it's at lvl 0 , do you instantly remove all level 0's from ALL dungeon packs ? Or do you have to defeat the lvl 0's first and THEN remove them ? Because if the other player that hasn't levelled up is inside a human dungeon , does he fight the level 0's and remove them afterwards because another player is level 0 or not ?
This confuses me alllllllllllllll around :(
There are a lot of things that confuse me in this game. From how I understand it, it is based on the person who fights. The good news is you can cooperate in the dungeon and fight together. That could help. I wish the rule book touched more on these instances. Sorry I’m not much help 😃😃👍
@@MeetMeAtTheTable So that's what I do to, if you for example everyone only visits the animal dungeons, and level up there, the other dungeons won't be affected by raising the levels, that's how I do it , ok good good :)

Great question. The world quests will have it written on the card. Personal quest are those you find traveling to individual places mostly in the strongholds and the wilderness decks. Also personal quest has a little dot next to a number. So you can have two quests with dots and one without the dot. It is very small detail but after you realize it, you cannot unseen it. 🙂
Part of me is wondering is the large map and minis are really required seeing the game seems very choose your own adventure type game? I could be wrong as the story progresses. It reminds me a little of Pathfinder Card Game but with some variations
I will say for me the minis especially for the monsters are not needed. They are fun to have but I’m ok with the little tokens on the board. I will say I was not a fan of pathfinder the card game. The board is cool cus you can map out how to get to the next quest, but with your 4 speed you could probably get to any symbol on the board. It could also take you more than one turn to get to where you need to go. I think of it more as a skill check game than a choose your own adventure. @@MeetMeAtTheTable I mean the map could be smaller if you get what I mean. The create your own adventure is in reference to the mission progression not the combat the combat reminds me more of that Dr Who dice game (Time of the Daleks I think it's called) where you have to get specific symbols and have items or companions to help the results. I actually enjoyed the Pathfinder card game - frustrating as hell lol. This game does have my interest as I love Skyrim lol. The use of tokens for enemy placements is cool with me, but the minis I think are more for hooking people in - a current trend for Kickstarter type board games esp if they are not needed.
I agree that the map/board is bigger than it needed to be. They could have put the stronghold info by each stronghold instead. It was such a table hog even on my 3x5 table.
@@Malgamus and for the type of game the map is not the key element - it has a role but if it was an area control game with mini armies then yeah you need the space but if it's just for travelling it could be smaller.

I am late to the party (as always) however here is a question - how does this game stand the test of time/replays? Is it still in your collection or you let it go?
Your never late. It’s great to hear from you. As for Skyrim. I am having an issue with balance in the game and it is losing my attention. I will need to make it more difficult. The enemies are too easy for me to defeat. The story and theme of the game is still keeping me going but it’s getting harder to get to the table with other games to play. I think I need to just remove the easier monsters from the game. It is still fun. I still have but not sure for how much longer. AT 59:05 you have 5 experinece points, yet you start counting with 3,4,5 - Where did you get the other 2 experience points? You already added 1 from the battle you just won, even if you added one more form the secoond battle, you would still only have 6 experience points.

I wonder if this board game is just as glitched and broken as the video game. My character in the game is literally trapped in a dungeon because the game glitched out and there is simply not a way to leave it anymore lol

Greta question Brenden. It’s because I am terrible at pronunciation of names. It’s a learning disability Iv had all my life. Sorry it was so bad for this game especially since there is source material that pronounces the names. I’ll try to do a better job in the future.
