I like doing my own little baits with free cruise or free vacation scams and ask them if the vacation includes meals for my 6 service dogs because I need them to pull me around in my iron lung, and it sillier from there.

When a victim here's "scam" they are immediately suspect. Perhaps describing your self as a self employed vigilante going after the scammers would be a better way to open the conversation. Getting scammed really affects a person's psyche, confidence and trust. Love what you do, it's incredibly satisfying when you stick it up their keisters.
