I like the colors more in the new design, he’s just more bulky. I like to think this body change was because the humans shot 2 of his eyes and blew his legs.
They should’ve made a hybrid of the original and the new version. I always loved how his original form was designed with his side windows on each side of his head, like how Bumblebee’s windows and doors split into wings.

I actually really liked Barricade, I liked his alt-mode and I thought his design was really cool; he was a cool new addition and I’m glad he survived to the end
I'll be honest, I didn't recognize Barricade in Dark of the Moon because he just looked like another generic Decepticon protoform to me - all grey and sharp bits. It was only watching videos after the fact that pointed him out that I realized it was him.
