I think it belittles the times Jonghyun was genuinely happy or enjoying himself (which seems to be centered around music) to say that he was in so much pain that he forced himself to smile even in this video. I'm sure he did at some points but just because you're depressed it doesn't mean you can never enjoy a moment in your life or even smile (at least not the case for everyone, my own personal battle with depression included). The best way to appreciate & pay tribute to his life is to enjoy the videos where he is smiling and acknowledge/help those around you who are also personally suffering from depression. Or better yet just be compassionate to others, because depression knows no bounds, limits or preferences. Whether you seemingly are the happiest person on earth or the richest or the most beautiful or even a simple/humble person, it can touch you in many ways even if you try to fight it
I agree. He wasn't depressed 24/7. He had times when he was genuinely happy and in the moment. I think in the times he was alone is when it really got to him. Also since the 'treatment' he was getting wasn't helping, his depression got worse over time.

I was learning about depression in health, and it doesn't last forever. There are times you can actually enjoy something. And you don't get depression about everything, u can be stressed about something and then it leads to anxiety at last you can get depression if it's really bad. That's all I know.
