I love Anja Beran especially her training style. I do wish, though, that she'd embrace the training notions of release, especially when training piaffe, and reward with scratching rather than patting. Neuroscience indicates that horses don't get much reward from patting.

Wall Street you mean negative reinforcement? If you're going to say she should scratch rather than pat because "neuroscience" then why not say she should use positive reinforcement? It's so much better. And also she was releasing the horse after a nice piaffe, once an animal understands you can add time or increase criteria without them getting too confused. Which is how this looked to me.
I do agree that horses don't care much for patting though.
