- Pakistan home humiliation continued in Multan as England thrashed them by an innings and 47 runs to win the first Test and take a lead in the series.
During the telecast of the match, the broadcasters pulled up a graphic that showed the sorry state of Pakistan cricket at the moment. Since 2022, Pakistan are only the team to not have won a Test match at home, losing 7 out of the 11 matches.
After the humiliating Bangladesh series loss, the England one was where Pakistan players had to really step up and show that they can turn things around. There were surely signs of this in the first innings when they piled on 556 runs, with centuries from Abdullah Shafique, captain Shan Masood and Agha Salman.

Instead of utilizing young talent in series against teams like Zimbabwe, Ireland, Afghanistan, and Bangladesh to build bench strength, these senior players continue to play in such series.
4. Babar Azam’s Failure in Big Matches: Babar Azam often fails to perform in big matches in ODIs, T20s, and Tests, which puts additional pressure on the Pakistan team.
5. T20 Strike Rates of Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan: Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan do not deserve spots in Pakistan’s T20 team based on their performances. Their T20 strike rates, around 128, are not suitable for the modern T20 game, yet they continue to play.
6. Dropping Mohammad Haris: Mohammad Haris was dropped from the T20 team after fears arose that he might replace Mohammad Rizwan. Haris played an outstanding innings against South Africa in the 2022 T20 World Cup, but despite his performance, he was excluded from the team afterward.
