This IPL generation will not understand what dada meant to us.. Cricket was over in 90s.. Full of match fixers.. We hardly use to win anything.. Overdependent on sachin.. Things changed after 2000 Champions trophy.. We became team again..
Dada was bit unlucky as a captain.. Drop catches in 2000 Champions trophy & 2004 Sydney tests n rain in 2002 champions trophy final.. Dada came close to becoming most successful captain of India.. But still gave us gems like yuvi viru bhajji Zak nehraji dhoni etc.. Comeback story of dada in 2006 is bollywood blockbuster level story

Listening to this conversation, it appears both Ganguly and chappel handled it immaturely and in unprofessional way. I feel sorry for Rahul Dravid now, only who appears to professional in this whole series of incidents.
Initially Greg Chappell was right to some extent,he suggested sourav ganguly to take a break,cleared his mind from cluttered thoughts,and improve some of his skills and return back strongly,but then ganguly was the captain and such suggestion that too from a coach irked him,it hurt his ego,I don't about other cricket playing nations but in India especially in that era coach generally refrain themselves from selection matter,they usually abstain themselves from selecting like who shall play or who shouldn't play,but sourav ganguly could have smartly deal with this,he shouldn't have disclose in the press conference that he was advised by coach to take temporary break from the team,he could have kept to himself, improved his performance and then replied Greg with his batting

Dravid was amazing as a player during his Captaincy..single-handedly won ODIs after ODIs especially in chases. Was supported well by Yuvi Raina and Dhoni. Dravid was called Mr. Dependable. Aamir's kid in Fanaa movie (2006) also mentioned the term Mr. Dependable for Dravid. 💫💫

After the defeat with Pakistan on home soil we defeated the then numner 2 srilanka team 6-1 . Then England 5-1 .. But his captaincy is only remembered for the wc loss and controversy. He hasbeen an excellent captain .We had our Golden period in 2005-2007.

The coach wanted to bring thd Australian winning culture in the team so Dravid supported it but Indian players were not ready for it so they betrayed the team.
@@Versatileabhi nobody betrayed. Dravid lost respect of the entire team. A coach has no right to say things like 'six cancers ' about the players who have immense contribution in Indian Cricket. That time the captain should intervene and asked the coach to stop it. Ultimately it's his team. His team members have felt humiliated, disrespected. But the captain became a yesman of the coach and never took a stand.

He did what was needed at that time as per his vision. I am only talking about his tenure as a captain which is successful otherwise. If you really want to make an unfiltered one on Sourav Ganguly do one on what turmoil Indian Cricket was in after the fixing scandal with Azharuddin and how Sourav Ganguly took over from him and laid the foundation of Indian Cricket from there. But I'm 99% sure you'll not do that because what you guys are after are views from creating unnecessary controversies and gaining some hypothetical happiness from downplaying that great man. That man has been involved every time whenever India has won an ICC Trophy in the last 20 yrs. be it forming the team of 2007 & 2011 and even bringing Rohit as captain and Dravid as coach in 2021. Nobody will talk about this. but deep down they know the bold calls were needed for improving the game and only he could've taken such calls.
