I agree with you, But there are some reasons he might’ve misspoken, The size of 2018 Camry newer is larger (I edited here, I forgot what I was going to say but the Camry got bigger after 2017, In the 2018 when it was redesigned it’s bigger I think) , maybe in-between the IS and ES in size, The Avalon is more accurate though. I am looking into this, My uncle just got an IS and he says it’s about the same size as the Camry my Grandma had. I feel like the sizes go from Corolla > IS > Camry > ES > Avalon My friend has a 2019 Avalon Base, It’s wider than the 2020 Camry I rented so I agree with you

I don't understand why this car is $48K? In my area they're selling brand new 24 ES 350s with an msrp of just under $48K for $45,200. Granted it's the base model, you still get the 302 hp V6, leather with power, heated and ventilated seats and sunroof etc. So plenty of options. Just no AWD like on this model i guess.
The premium package is a lot of value for the money. We chose this vehicle over the 350 because we live in an area that gets a lot of snow and needed AWD. Otherwise, we would have gone with the 350 because it has a lot more horsepower. In any case, however, the 250 is more than adequate for our purposes.
The Navigation is by subscription 16.50 t0 27.50 fir the services a month depending of what you want. I believe at this price point it should be en beaded into the system. Many manufacturers are goig this route, so be aware.
I just traded in a 2023 VW Arteon SEL Premium for a CPO 2023 Lexus ES 350 and I totally disagree with you. The V6 variant of this car Naturally Aspirated is what I went with for the reliability and the smoothness and silkiness. This car in any configuration is not a sports sedan IMO. The arteon was a beast but after driving that and then driving the Lexus home, what a difference. Like a bank vault. I get it why people love the ES 350 with the V6. IMO drive both and I bet you go with the V6. You will miss it when its gone. Again IMO
I live in Alaska so I wish I could get a car that didn't have all-wheel drive but where I live the roads are like the back end of the Moon and if you don't drive something all-wheel drive you're going to get stuck. Lol it snows here 7 months out of the year.
I wish Mazdas and BMWs were more comfortable to drive because they have significantly better interiors and look much better than this car, but you just can't beat the drive quality. Unfortunately everyone else has gone sporty so you need to see a chiropractor after you drive their cars, which makes them undrivable to me. On the other hand this vehicle is phenomenal as far as drive quality and comfort goes despite the cheap interior, exterior, and horrible engine. There's just nothing else that's comfortable on the road anymore since everybody went sporty 🤷 God I hate sports cars.
It doesn't share it's platform with the camry. It's shared with the Avalon.
